@Brian - I'm a bass player, too...for years I thought the bass just sounded so thin - too much mid, not enough bass. On a relisten years later, it sounded great on my stereo and yes, I agree, very in yer face. Almost like he's playing "lead bass". Aye - mercury pressing here, too.
