Did you hear that Aye Aye album from earlier in the year, featuring the Gibbons Bros. and some dudes from Purling Hiss and Watery Love? Damn cool.
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 3:28am Jeff Conklin:

@Simon: Ha!
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 3:45am AdamFromOldeKenzo:

It is funny how Wolf Eyes have been on Trouble Man Records, Trip Metal Records, and now Third Man Records.

I'm just making my coffee at home a few times extra a month for the next year :)
I think I moved the pledge status bar up from 25% to 43%...let's have some healthy competition, people!

Strange but true -- my FMU contribution comes out of my share of the tip jar at work. Thank you, coffee drinkers and pastry eaters!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/5/15 4:01am pacific standard simon:

Huh. Assuming the Frank Lloyd Wright Quartet would be a little more orderly... :)
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 4:02am Eiderdown:

That seems really appropriate, Simon :)
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 4:03am Eiderdown:

The tip jar thing, that is

When I was still a dishwasher, 30+ years ago, I would grab a glazed cinnamon roll on Friday, put it in a Styrofoam container, and open it up on Saturday morning, to great delight. With a college radio station playing.
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 4:25am Eiderdown:

Listening to this William Linton track makes me feel like I ate a "funny" pastry
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/5/15 4:29am pacific standard simon:

Turn on, tune in, whip it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/5/15 4:31am pacific standard simon:

Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 4:36am Bentangle:

I wish I wasn't broke right now because your DJ Premium mix sounds pretty sweet, Jeff.
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 4:37am Jeff Conklin:

My premium is VERY sweet, I must say...

Morning, maja
  Mon. 10/5/15 4:39am Mark R.:

Simon, Frank Wright made at least one very remarkable album for the ESP-Disk label, with a trio. The ESP catalog blurb says that Wright played with John Coltrane, but I haven't seen his name on any Coltrane recordings. Maybe they just jammed together and it was never recorded. I'd imagine those sessions might sound something like the recordings Trane made with Pharaoh Sanders.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/5/15 4:40am pacific standard simon:

The stickers are very nice, too.
  Mon. 10/5/15 4:44am Mark R.:

Simon, I was filling in late Friday/early Saturday and you were conspicuously absent from the comment board. My co-host and I were concerned. Good to see you haven't met with foul play!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/5/15 4:47am pacific standard simon:

I wonder what sort of boogie-woogie Piet Mondrian might have made with Frank Lloyd Wright. Piano and drums?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/5/15 4:52am pacific standard simon:

@Mark R. - That's a natural time slot for me, but I needed a cool-down period after work with some old Adam-12 episodes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/5/15 5:03am pacific standard simon:

I know that requests are chuckled at, but some some Sandy Bull would be interesting here.
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 5:09am Jeff Conklin:

@simon: Good call but no Bull with me this morning...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/5/15 5:11am pacific standard simon:

's cool... Sometimes, thinking about it is the same as hearing it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/5/15 5:17am pacific standard simon:

Trying to put a finger on this singer -- Cajun?
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 5:17am Jeff Conklin:

Man, it'd be really swell if I could hit 50 percent of my goal this morning WINK WINK WINK WINK
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 5:19am Eiderdown:

So close...
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 5:22am Eiderdown:

United Bible Studies is my fall soundtrack band of the moment. So great...
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 5:24am Jeff Conklin:

This new one is so good, Adam
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 5:27am Eiderdown:

Didn't even know about it. Thanks for the heads up. Jeff, do you have that Aine o'Dwyer Church Cleaner LP on MIE? It's beautiful too
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 5:28am the Canterbury wood-elf:

Good morning Jeff and everyone. This is my favourite Van Morrison album after "Astral Weeks". Never understood why it's so overlooked.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/5/15 5:30am pacific standard simon:

Van Morrison from this period always pacifies me...
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 5:32am Jeff Conklin:

Yes, Adam, I like that one. I LOVE the UBS though.
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 5:49am Eiderdown:

My daughter just woke up and went back to sleep on the couch with me. Sweet folk sounds easing her back to slumberland, thanks Jeff!
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 5:52am andreaaaa:

Hi Jeff, enjoying the music in the office today.
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 5:52am Jeff Conklin:

My pleasure, Adam. The last hour is always sleepy-kid-friendly as you know ;)
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 5:53am Eiderdown:

I can't believe I made it all the way through. I'm gonna be hurting tomorrow :)
But it was worth it. Great show, good vibes
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 5:56am Eiderdown:

Good morning all!
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 5:58am the Canterbury wood-elf:

Thanks, Jeff!
As someone who can only ever catch the final hour, it'd be great if you could drop some of your heavy-psych selections towards the end of your show. I love all the mellow folkiness too, but kind of feel I'm missing out...
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 5:59am Jeff Conklin:

There's always the archives, Canterbury ;)
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 5:59am Jeff Conklin:

Sorry, but i cant take heavy psych by this time of the morning
Avatar Mon. 10/5/15 6:02am the Canterbury wood-elf:

Fair enough, just keep doing your thing...
