@jake,.. beat me to it.. just about to hit send.. haha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03pm

Wow. Did I make the right choice to not listen to the sound on the clip when I watched this video. Or did I?

Why won't bears answer us?

Why wasn’t the bear sleeping? Why was it screwing around with the lady’s kayak… I’m gonna pepper spray you now!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm

I was rooting for the bear.
Avatar 3:07pm

"bear like kayak... kayak amuse bear.. please.. keep it down.. I'm trying to ruin your kayak"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm

Bears eating kayaks. I blame global warming.
Avatar 3:11pm

loss of habitat.. they're taking to watersports now

Kayak's name was Ursula.
Alison Porchnik:

For the love of God.

Maybe the bear smelled all those kayak farts and thought something died. No wait, here is what she says in her YouTube description:

“This incident occurred outside of a US Forest Service cabin in Berg Bay, Wrangell District, Alaska.” OOOO! Incident!

“The German flagged S/V Caledonia took me and my things to Wrangell but headed home to Ketchikan on the ferry Monday!” German flagged ship saved her from lack of kayak due to bear.

Fuck Disney™

S/V I assume means “Sea Vessel” right?

“Shortly after the bear left and I drug the kayak back to the cabin door step.” YOU DRUGGED THE KAYAK?

Something about aristocrats?
Avatar 3:16pm

I love WFMU.
Irwin , your shouting fook dissssney was very soothing to me somehow? Is this ok for me to say?

Bunker! Hey Irwin!

Clive Bunker drummed briefly with Steve Hillage's band in the mid-'70s. Not quite the best fit, but spectacular in its own way.
poet, tony seymour:

Think I spent the entire summer of 67 listening to MOBY GRAPE.....forget the Kool Aid.....i needed my Grape juice to get going every day.......looking forward to the 10am live show today.....well 10am in Honolulu....its wake up time even though i have been up all night......

The only good thing to come out of this incident.

"Royal Bed Bouncer"?
Avatar 3:37pm

This is amazing
Avatar 3:37pm

If only more techno music was "when animals attack"-themed, I might become a bigger fan.

First it's the kayaks. Then, it's the yoga mats...

Bronwyn Bishop:

I want to enter my pet but my pet died.
Avatar 3:42pm

the last time I took my kayak out (about 5 years ago) in Monksville reservior in North NJ.. I pulled off on a small shore area only to see a mother bear with 3-4 cubs about.. 20ft away.. I didn't get out of kayak.. promptly turned around and paddled back out.

HI Irwin!!!

My Moby Grape albums were some of my favorites back in the day.
Listener Robert:

I think a pic of a dead pet would be acceptable. I'll be entering a pic of an artificial one.

It's like listening to a karaoke rendition of Moby Grape. The music is nice though.
Listener Robert:

I meant Bronwyn to see the comment about dead pets as mascots.
Avatar 4:45pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- well - I like her voice, & it's similar & different in good ways. 'Covers' often throw interesting light on the songs themselves...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:47pm

hello michele little weirdo.

...I lived in Santa Barbara where the area code is 805 - & I always had a theory that's what '8:05' was about - not 8:05 on the clock - but I'm probably wrong...

Ken From Hyde Park:

Weirdo party!

thanks Irwin for Arwen---great to hear these timeless songs done with feeling and sincerity..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm

805 should kick Bakersfield out... that would dramatically improve its rep

Yes, Arwen was great. The sound crew team did a terrific job.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:06pm

The sound "team" was Ernie Indradat. He's a pro.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:09pm
Alison Porchnik:

Irwin, if you don't make your goal, don't worry. On the Internet, global warming is a reasonable excuse for anything these days. Or Obama.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10pm

^ So true.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:11pm

They're both my go-to scapegoats.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm

Thanks to Michael P of Consett, UK, for the £.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17pm

was ian matthews in this? lovely.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17pm
Alison Porchnik:

I didn't make my goal. All of those loyal listeners in Southeast Asia went broke when the ocean flooded their farmland. I didn't make my goal because the all of the cash in the western United States burned up this summer in the drought-fed fires. I didn't make my goal because Obama's tuna fish salad recipe includes pickles, and my richest Democratic fans choked on them.

Thanks Irwin! They sounded great. So good. I guess I'll be singing those tunes for another forty years or so. Thanks again to you and everyone.
Avatar 5:58pm

Sounds like Frangry yelling.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

I don't recall a 7SD newsletter today. Budgetary cutbacks? Thanks for today's show, Irwin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59pm

"why are you eating my kayak?"

Made me laugh on an otherwise miserable day. Thanks!

I was just about to walk out the door when I heard this and had to stand by the radio and chuckle.
