A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

@Pale Son Ack indeed. So much trouble, so little time. Hey Trouble, been overdosing on Zachary since last week's turn-on. What a step forward from Blue Rider, eh?

Dear Trouble! So happy to hear you live (again). Wanted to ask you, when you lived in Neuchatel--did you listen to the radio? I remember a great French station that played great music--but only for 2 hours a day (might have only been one day a week). Don't know the call letters but thinking you might have listened, too. xo ew

Hard to think of wearing knits when it's going to be 78 and mondo humid today, but nice to think of what's coming (we hope). Sheep and Wool coming up, eh?

sorry for the cheesiness of this comment, but when you said "birdwalk", the image that sprung to mind is putting little birds on leashes.

Ah yes, the lovely accent of norwegians aged 60 and up. You mostly hear it during the Nobel prize ceremony or when our guys speak to the UN. Oh well, not that I'm a native speaker, either.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19am
Andrew Waterloo:

There have been years where there has been a significant Norwegian presence at Guelph Jazz Festival here in Ontario.

suea:

Did she just talk in reverse?
  10:21am
Torbjørn:

Regarding government funding of artists, I would say that there is also a streak of the social-democratic idea from the thirties and out; that art is good and should be for the common people. "Rikskonsertene" is a good example, the state at a central level arranges a series of touring concerts around parts of the country that doesn't see visiting artists a lot. It's a bit strange to see free-form jazz way out in the woods, but it's quite brilliant in a way as well.
