Hi all, getting used to the new time (actually better for me now than Thursdays, which I'm glad about).
  Mon. 9/21/15 9:30am P-90:

Coming out of Frank into Joe is one of those perfect transitions, I've learned this is one of the trickier, finer points of scheduling for this station-- every show is so idiosyncratic, but some shows "follow" other shows very well. And this in the context of "time of day" considerations, etc...
Stationmaster Ken is like a kid with the best electric train set ever, and he's getting better at playing with it all the time.
  Mon. 9/21/15 9:30am P-90:

imho
Avatar Mon. 9/21/15 9:32am Joe McG:

@P-90: I think Ken would appreciate this analogy. Probably it's more like a teacher trying to deal with a classroom of 50 unruly children.

Yes indeed. An odd movie to be sure...
  Mon. 9/21/15 9:53am P-90:

@Sphere: one of Heinlein's seminal, best-known and best loved books, a "gateway" science fiction book for teens in several generations. And the title is a nicely turned phrase.
  Mon. 9/21/15 9:55am KP:

I am liking this right here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/21/15 9:57am sphere:

@P-90 oh, i am an old SF/F hand and "Mistress" is my fave Heinlein! in a music-ish vein, i like GRRM's "Armageddon Rag" (about a 60s band) though it's not to everyone's taste.
  Mon. 9/21/15 9:58am P-90:

"You're a Big Boy Now" is one of those quintessential mid-late '60s semi-experimental features by a young, new director trying to do something "relevant", something that relates to the experiences of his like, generation, man.

Good morning, Joe and listeners.

It so happens I finally caught up with Altman's "Nashville" this past weekend. (Had seen it only once, on broadcast TV in the 70s.) It seems some people think Porter Wagoner was one of the bases for the Haven Hamilton character. He has the same hair, but otherwise, the Gibson character wasn't nearly weird enough to be Porter.

Dolly was the first woman to cover Mule Skinner Blues on record. It's an amazing version.

Sheryl Crow's version of First Cut is terrible. She omits a line.

I wonder if anyone ever has reason to read the after-show comments, left by someone who caught the show from archives and it blew his mind, had to comment! Of course your shows have been over the top great for years Joe and I will never catch up.
