Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12pm Ken From Hyde Park:

The Fun Machine is up and running!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12pm chris:

(thanks DK for sharing that this morning)
Avatar 12:14pm Cecile:

so sad, but damn, he didn't look 38. Looked like he lived hard, that one.
Avatar 12:21pm V Priceless:

also lost Bryn Merrick of MCA-era Damned infamy this week, sad to say.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Looks like Kiddie left behind a wife and children, too. Condolences to his family, friends and bandmates.
Avatar 12:26pm Cecile:

As Clay Pigeon says: "Always Remember".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm Stevel:

Indeed. Always remember.
Avatar 12:27pm V Priceless:

there ya go...nice, DK
Avatar 12:27pm Cecile:

you know, Diane, I have been thinking about Ronnie James Dio a lot lately. If you have some Dio or Sabbath, that would be great.
Avatar 12:28pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

What VP said.
Avatar 12:29pm Mailman Tom:

Goddamn, this is the Damned mimicking the Who !
Avatar 12:31pm Cecile:

they mimic love pretty well, too. They do a nice cover of Alone Again Or, I think.
Avatar 12:32pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

AH, nice. I had the "anything" title track as an earworm for about a month when the record came out. It could have been much worse.
Avatar 12:33pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

...surely the video (and Night Flight on USA Networks) was to blame.
Avatar 12:34pm Cecile:

dammit, I miss Night Flight still.
I think the kids would love old weird videos. Someone needs to revive it.
Avatar 12:35pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Haven't heard this tune or seen the video since those days, yet the whole damned thing is playing in my brain-eye now. Funny. I suppose nothing is forgotten.
Avatar 12:36pm V Priceless:

'In Dolce Decorum' was always a fave from this LP, as was the swell Love cover, etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Someone needs to digitify their old VHS tapes of Night Flight and get that onto the web for us geezers to enjoy.
Avatar 12:36pm Mailman Tom:

I've been a fan of Arthur Lee and Love since their 1st album in '66. Thanks to my older brother who commuted to SVA in NYC every day from Connecticut. He brought home LPs almost every week !
  12:37pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...so - no Whofans in the Damned obviously...
  12:38pm Lou:

apologies if i missed this but did dave vanian or capt sensible die or something? plan 9 channel 7
Avatar 12:38pm V Priceless:

Avatar 12:40pm the Canterbury wood-elf:

Night Flight, I remember it well!

I ran into Capt Sensible at a festival years ago and he gave me a piece of grape flavoured bubblebum.
Avatar 12:40pm the Canterbury wood-elf:

bubblegum, sorry!
Avatar 12:41pm Cecile:

I'm glad it was gum.

Avatar 12:41pm PKNY:

Avatar 12:43pm Cecile:

this is both a great argument pro and con dying young.
Avatar 12:43pm Cecile:

Ah, Ronnie, that's why you were great.
Avatar 12:45pm Cecile:

I am riding up to the top of the hill on my mighty steed, screaming to the four winds right about now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I guess the lesson here might be "See your doctor regularly."
Avatar 12:46pm Cecile:

even for Dio. The docs told him if he'd come in a couple months earlier it would have been treatable. His wife has since started a foundation that urges men to get to the damn doc!
Avatar 12:48pm Cecile:

oh, no.
Avatar 12:48pm Chris from DC:

Aw, been listening to a lot of Bolt Thrower lately. Sad day.
Avatar 12:53pm Diane Kamikaze:

C/DC, I have been listening to a lot of Bolt Thrower just this past week, and had pulled some BT to play on the show last week but didn't get to it!

  12:57pm nardo:

or sleazy
  12:59pm arrow apple:

Brings back the days when I was able to tune in WNYU 89.1. I have this on vinyl. Thanks Diane.
  12:59pm Listener Robert:

Leaving to hear The Stunt Show on the JM in the AM stream. Nachum doesn't seem to have a Web-based comment stream available, so I'll report here on what it's like, if you don't mind. The title intrigues me.
Avatar 1:01pm Cecile:

these Meat Wave guys have some heft for just being kiddos.
  1:02pm Listener Robert:

Will it be like Ken & Andy's stunts? Glen Jones's stunts?

They're originating from Los Angeles this week.
Avatar 1:08pm PKNY:

Were Blue Pills and Graveyard separated at birth? Great stuff!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11pm chris:

is loving Queens of the Stone Age a guilty pleasure? cuz if it is, its one of mine
  1:12pm r i s k y:

  1:13pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- this works fine.
  1:13pm Listener Robert:

I didn't think until now to Google "The Stunt Show", and I see now from the descriptions of the archives that what they're streaming at this moment is not an aberration, which means that the title is ironic, I guess. Also means it's not a new program for the new year, as I'd thought. It's a discussion program of serious topics, done seriously. Not what I was looking for. Maybe there's a story somewhere as to how it got that title.
Avatar 1:14pm Cecile:

I wish I liked them more. I should on paper. I do love Songs for the Deaf. Prolly cause Mark Lanegan's on it.
Avatar 1:15pm Cecile:

is this new? It sounds good.
  1:15pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

(...a good reason.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm Stevel:

Songs for the Deaf is pretty amazing. Haven't listened to much other than that.

Cheap Trick, always good.
Avatar 1:16pm Cecile:

It was the last album I remember playing hooky from work with our temp, who was a friend, and just driving around with the windows open and the music cranked.
  1:17pm r i s k y:

Go Diane! I love you and your radio prowess!
Avatar 1:18pm Chris from DC:

A song called Axe of Judgement has at least one good thing going for it.
Avatar 1:18pm Cecile:

yeah, who else could find the common thread between Trick and Ensiferium?

Axe of Judgement. In my pants
Avatar 1:21pm V Priceless:

Woo!! BJ Wilson forever!
  1:22pm Ted:

Ooooooo, I have not heard this great song in years. Trower on fire on this one.
  1:24pm Listener Robert:

Apparently according to 5tjt.com... , they did do occasional stunts. Maybe a pattern was established, then broken, but the name stuck.

Looks like I'll come back here. It was a revealing digression, though.
Avatar 1:28pm V Priceless:

spell check on 'Procol' in aisle 3 ; )

Avatar 2:20pm Cecile:

Avatar 2:22pm V Priceless:

Avatar 2:56pm Cecile:

the FMU hive mind felt a fluttering.
Avatar 2:57pm Cecile:

Is he playing air guitar?
Avatar 2:58pm V Priceless:

haha Cecile...I did mean it figuratively, buy had a hunch the timing was right...
Avatar 2:59pm Cecile:

we need a transitional moment.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Last week, the Kurt, Diane & Clay trio went well. Have a good week.
