Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Thanks for checking out this episode of The Dusty Show on WFMU. I'm about a month away from my 10th Anniversary on the air! It's still fun, though, let's admit, this was not one of my best outings. Parts of it were good, but fatigue set in at the :35 mark. Damn. I need more sleep. Less work. More freedom. More fun! I had a couple of interviews recorded for this episode, but decided against airing them. I also have quite a trove of studio outakes saved up. Little mini-musicals and the like. I'll share those with you soon. Also, two stories. A new one called "Screw Ponderosa," and an older one never-aired called "Gregory Falls." To be honest, I am struggling with my voice in home recording. It's so gruff these days. The only characters I can do are old men and school marms. So, I have been doing interviews, but this week I was tired if that. So, I decided to go live and see how it might go. It sure was fun filling in for Dave the Spazz and people seemed to really enjoy it. Emails had a sudden spike and I let myslef believe that it was the beginning of some type of new and possibly unprecedented groundswell that would peak and swell and carry me over its warm and choppy waters to new shores, new ears. Perhaps it did. I would never know by Accu-Comment totals or the latest Arbies. Call em Sherman for I have tanked! We are troughing it here at present, but this business has a lot of ebbs and flows, a lot of valleys and peaks. Often, we walk the flat highway, kicking cans and lighting firecrackers. Flushing out meadowlarks and finding an old seven-iron. Boy I sure miss the days of my summer youth. Such fun that was. I can't believe I am 57. The time is flying by unimpeded. As if it is going downhill, faster and faster, picking up speed. Up ahead? Who knows. More uneven Dusty Shows for a while, at least. We've been granted another season. Thank you FMU. Thank you listener. I appreciate your attention and time. Please tune in again. Until then ... always remember ... Judy Carne.
