Hello, sir! Great start!

  9:04pm JakeGould:

Sonofabitch! Seconds… :/
  9:05pm clinton hensley:

Sorry, Jake. Pull for "Lasties."
Avatar 9:05pm herb.nyc:

(Greeeeeat 1st song. Don't know it. Which is usual for me.). Hi EFD et al. Ya know, I danced during last wk's Disco show, but then tripped during the Beatles medley (damn Beatles!). And guess what? I tore a ligament in my foot & fractured some metatarsals (btw, what happened to Chris T? Same thing? Wasn't he in that famous nj disco band in '80s, the Night-A-Lipsticks? ). But I'm ok, and I think my ears will be able to listen to music more sharply, to compensate for my foot's immobility. (Actually, car hit me, but not hard. I'm ok, though had to miss Royal Headache and Nick Garrie; sorry to bring on crap. Now, plz rock out with your feet out!)
Avatar 9:07pm Holly in NC:

Greetings efd & all! Looking forward to a great show. Will be quietly listening via phone.

If you would, please take a moment to give a silent toast to my cat Bitty (my avatar), who passed away very suddenly yesterday morning. She was a very special girl and much, much loved.
  9:07pm clinton hensley:

Don't do the electric slide to Abbey Road, herb.
  9:08pm JakeGould:

@HollyinNC: R.I.P. Bitty. And hop you yourself are doing better, Holly.
  9:10pm clinton hensley:

Yeah - agreed. Sorry, Holly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11pm efd:

oh my gosh, that's terrible Holly! Really sorry to hear about Bitty, but nice to see you here at least.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:14pm efd:

and herb, sorry to hear about your accident! Jeez, stay safe everybody.
  9:16pm clinton hensley:

Hope your metatarsals will be soothed by Doc Davies. Been there - 10 week recovery. Sorry, man.
  9:16pm JakeGould:

@herb.nyc: So the injury came from a car hitting you? Hope you are doing better but I would hate to equate a disco Beatles medley with physical tragedy.
  9:19pm clinton hensley:

  9:19pm cheri:

well since everybody is in a somber mood, maybe I should return next week, night all!

  9:22pm cheri:

i'm very sorry holly
  9:22pm clinton hensley:

EFD obviously isn't somber. Stick around!
  9:25pm JakeGould:

@EFD: *GASP* You are great! “Twistin’ in the Sixties!”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26pm efd:

ultimately a missed opportunity here imho

Roderick Falconer? Is that the neighbor of Robin Masters on “Magnum, P.I.”
Avatar 9:36pm Bianconeri:

Roderick Falconer has a fascinating pop cultural history: en.wikipedia.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Good thoughts to Holly and to poor Bitty. Bitty the Kitty sounds like a cool pet name.
Avatar 9:40pm Monday Morning:

I cried my eyes out when I read the news that One Direction will be disbanding in March.

Seven more months of listening to them... ugh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43pm efd:

who is forcing you to listen to them?
Avatar 9:44pm Monday Morning:

my kids
Avatar 9:47pm Monday Morning:

They are running around now after the cat... saying:
"Hear kitty kitty", "Hear kitty kitty" - like they are going to work a miracle...
The cat is still deaf.
  9:47pm herb.nyc:

Turn yr kids to EZTV
  9:47pm cheri:

so efd, i'll see you again next week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:49pm efd:

alright then cheri.
  9:52pm clinton hensley:

One Direction disbanded! Ah, They'll be back. Hey, Evan - My 80-year-old pop & I had a light-hearted debate about who had the smoothest swing. He said Ted Williams. I said Pete Rose. Is this just a generational gap type thing?
Avatar 9:54pm Monday Morning:

I had no idea Pete Rose and Ted Williams were swingers.
Avatar 9:55pm Monday Morning:

I didn't see them at the parties.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58pm efd:

I'm not sure how you'd quantify "smooth" exactly, but I'd be inclined to pick Williams over Rose myself. Though that might be partly due to my Red Sox fandom.
  9:58pm clinton hensley:

And I didn't realized you had a twisted sister. And I really don't know what having a twisted sister would actually mean. That sounds like a good band name though.
  10:04pm clinton hensley:

Efficient and graceful I guess would be a better choice of words. At any rate, my dad would agree with you. :)
Avatar 10:08pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Dammit. I just ran out of beer.
Avatar 10:09pm Monday Morning:

I prefer efficient over smooth or graceful.
Avatar 10:09pm Andrew S:

Baseball on the video. The EFD show on the audio. It's all good.
Avatar 10:10pm Monday Morning:

I just don't like my swingers dipped in Tiger Balm.
  10:10pm JakeGould:

@PetefromBoston(and NJ): You live in America. That can easily be solved.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10pm efd:

which baseball, Andrew?
Avatar 10:10pm Monday Morning:

I prefer them dipped in Vodka so I can feed them to the lesbians.
  10:11pm clinton hensley:

@ M.M Ha! And Pete Rose wins! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12pm Ike:

We were talking about Altrok Radio a few weeks ago. Now that WFUV's little indie rock operation, The Alternate Side, has suddenly been snuffed out, I'm hoping its audience will migrate to Altrok Radio, which has a broader playlist anyway.
  10:12pm jon:

hi efd and listeners

sorry about your loss holly

no beer in boston?
Avatar 10:13pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Jake, I do live in America. Thus, opportunity perpetually battles sloth. The liquor store is like four or five blocks away. I mean, really.
Avatar 10:13pm Andrew S:

i'm a born-again Blue Jays fan Evan. I hated them growing up an Expos fan but I grabbed a seat on the bandwagon a few years ago. I didnt watch any baseball for years after the Expos moved but then I realized nobody cared about my little protest.
Avatar 10:13pm coelacanth:

greetings efd and funksters
  10:14pm JakeGould:

@PetefromBoston(andNJ): You’re right. I forgot every Ameircan’s dilema… A fridge too far!
Avatar 10:15pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

I still have my "Sauvez les Expos" sticker.
Avatar 10:15pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Ha! A fridge too far!
Avatar 10:16pm coelacanth:

Holly- sad about your cat.
hopefully YOU are still on the mend though.
Avatar 10:17pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

This is probably as much encouragement as I should need to feed the cat pestering me nearby.
Avatar 10:17pm Andrew S:

Nice Pete, I have some cool Expos curios. A stan Lee spider-man cartoon that featured the Green Goblin battling Delino dESHIELDS, and a Bill Lee russian doll spring to mind
Avatar 10:18pm Andrew S:

comic, not cartoon
Avatar 10:18pm glenn:

speaking of my blue jays, they are squishing the rangers.
  10:21pm clinton hensley:

The Jays have been impressive. My Reds?... Shaking my head.
Avatar 10:23pm glenn:

forget david price, trading jose reyes for troy tulowitzki was a stroke of genius.
Avatar 10:24pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Delino DeShields probably got the Green Goblin to try to throw him out, and we all know Delino wins that one.
Avatar 10:26pm Andrew S:

As a Sparks maniac I was sceptical of this FFS collaboration as I think I remember EFD saying he was too. But it's pretty darn good.
  10:28pm clinton hensley:

Tulowitzki's a great player.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28pm efd:

yes, same and same Andrew!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28pm Ike:

FFS got some airplay on the now-defunct Alternate Side. Interesting move by WFUV to just simulcast its main programming on WNYE-91.5 in the mornings now. I wonder if that's temporary. We can only hope something new and weird will show up on WNYE sooner or later.
Avatar 10:29pm Andrew S:

The green goblin was battling the Expos, the comic is in french. There are some great captions of like Delino clinging to The GG and Moises Alou firing baseballs at him. Pretty neat
  10:31pm clinton hensley:

Never heard this version of Arthur Brown. Nice.
Avatar 10:31pm glenn:

andrew, have you read jonah kerri's book about the expos? it's very entertaining.
Avatar 10:36pm Andrew S:

I haven't glenn but I heard some interviews with him about it and it sounds great. I'll pick it up one of these days forsure.

Avatar 10:38pm glenn:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41pm efd:

I am all in favor of the Blue Jays continuing to stomp all over every team for the rest of the season.
Avatar 10:42pm coelacanth:

'night herb.
Avatar 10:45pm glenn:

oh, i have no doubt that they will.
  10:45pm JakeGould:

Go Jays!!!!
Avatar 10:53pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

This Bye Bye Blackbirds song screams Bill Kelly to me.
  10:54pm clinton hensley:

Goodnight, Evan. Big fan of your show, brother. Thanks for the tunes. :)
Avatar 10:55pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

And yet, a quick search reveals no Bill Kelly plays. You have scooped the man at his own game.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55pm efd:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35pm efd:

that song is great, right?! I'd forgotten all about it until I heard Small Change play it on his show a couple of months ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35pm efd:

I tried to wait a respectable amount of time before playing it myself. :)
  11:42pm JakeGould:

“Bark at the Moon” was 1983, FWIW.
