Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm sphere:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm Liz Berg:

Welcome Claw!, sphere, and all others lurking out there!
  12:12pm JakeGould:

Hey, some of us are just slow to the type this AM.
Avatar 12:13pm nah:

looking forward to this, been so long since I liztened!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm Liz Berg:

Hope you guys don't mind starting out with a robot dance party...
Avatar 12:18pm Claw!:

Oi, sphere!
Howdy, fellow Liz'ners.
Avatar 12:20pm nah:

Dancing in my desk chair. Love this 8-bit stuff!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Afternoon, Liz and all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm sphere:

chippin' the tunes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm Polyus:

liz are you playing a video game?
Avatar 12:25pm Jeff:

Ha! Cheyenne sent me a link to this song because it basically describes my job.
Avatar 12:26pm Cheyenne:

It describes many of our jobs, @Jeff. Haha!
Avatar 12:26pm Jeff:

Stoopid computers.
Avatar 12:27pm Polk Biggins:

Greetings Liz! Greetings people of the Interwebz.
Avatar 12:30pm Jeff:

I love me a nice Liz-curated robot dance party.

Wave HitchBOT's dismembered arms in the air
like you just don't care!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm Polyus:

Poor HitchBOT, too beautiful for this world.
Avatar 12:34pm Polk Biggins:

This may very well have been the music T. Pynchon listened to while writing Bleeding Edge.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm Liz Berg:

Haven't read Bleeding Edge... should I?
Avatar 12:43pm Cheyenne:

That entire Now Age comp is so smoove
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm SeanG:

yeah be here now!
Avatar 12:45pm Polk Biggins:

@Liz Hmmm. Excellent question (that I was not prepared for). If you have enjoyed Pynchon in the past then yes. Edge is sort of an updated (digitized?) Elmore Leonard-style tale. All manner of various web-based diversions and rabbit holes.
  12:47pm Lou Skunt:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm SeanG:

digging this track right away
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm Liz Berg:

Thanks for the rundown, Polk! I shall check it out one of these days.
Avatar 12:50pm steve:

hey folks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50pm Liz Berg:

Kurt Vile playing live on my show next week, btw!
Avatar 12:52pm steve:

for what its worth Bleeding Edge is the only Pynchon book i enjoyed enough to finish. that's high praise from someone who rarely reads novels and has the attention span of a goldfish.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Kurt Vile should be pretty good. Thanks already for that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm Liz Berg:

Ha ha, that's a great endorsement, steve! Managed to make it though Gravity's Rainbow, so I should be good with Bleeding Edge.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm sphere:

wow liz, finishing Gravity's Rainbow is a major achievement! i am in awe.
Avatar 1:05pm cobradan:

Eating pasta made with tomatoes from my back deck, editing photos, listening to Liz B. life is good.
  1:12pm Scuttle:

Damn!! This is some Omar Souleyman type.
Avatar 1:12pm steve:

weirdest thing of recent memory - ran into someone i went to highschool with (and haven't heard from since, 15+ years) at Monty Hall this past weekend.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm Liz Berg:

That's crazy, Steve! Monty Hall has special powers...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm Greg from ZONE 5:

WOW. I tried tapping into Gravity's Rainbow last summer. I thought "How hard can it be? It's long, but it's still just a book..." I was so wrong. It is so not a book at all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm Liz Berg:

Reading Gravity's Rainbow may be the mental equivalent of donating an organ.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Spot on, LB. After the fact I was on all these sites that give you advice on how to read it. I could spend the equivalent amount of time training to run a marathon, you know...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm Liz Berg:

Anyone gonna watch the GOP debate this week?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Polyus:

I just don't have the heart.
  1:42pm Greg Red:

Liz, This is hero-level DJing for an otherwise stressed and craptastic day at work. Thank you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm Liz Berg:

Hang in there, Greg Red!
Avatar 1:46pm steve:

if im not too busy im hoping to watch the debate. i just want to see what Trump does.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Yup. Gotta admit I just wanna see Trump yell at people and call them losers.
Avatar 1:53pm Claw!:

Speaking of Trump - Here's a good read, if any of you are interested:
Avatar 1:58pm steve:

im hoping he'll use the word "classy" at some point
  1:58pm Meatfucker:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm Liz Berg:

Maybe Donald will fire someone.
  2:00pm Meatfucker:

hey, you ever hear of a fellow named Jaik Willis?
  2:01pm Meatfucker:

He melted my a few weeks ago, Chicago based.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm Liz Berg:

Cool, will have to check out Jaik's stuff, Meatfucker, thanks for the rec.
  2:04pm Meatfucker:

I forgot to say face, im good at engrish!

Also, hes pretty awesome, his youtube mostly sucks though. I asked him if he had anything better and he said "Go to my shows!"
Which is perfectly reasonable.
  2:21pm Dagwood:

Great show Liz. It is making my day writing about sewer capacity bearable. Yes, some jobs are more exciting than others.
Avatar 2:23pm Claw!:

Total Control!!! Just saw these cats in BK on Sat! Great show. :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm Polyus:

There are like 1,000 'shoegazey' bands out there now, but No Joy sound really good, from that one song anyway. Touring this fall, I may want to attend.
Avatar 2:34pm Mike VL:

Great show today, Liz!
  2:35pm JakeGould:

@Polyus: Have you heard of “Flyying Colours?” They are pretty good and shoegazey: flyyingcolours.bandcamp.com
Avatar 2:40pm Mike VL:

So true about playing cassettes! I am guilty of the same, thinking, "I'm sure that's really good"... then walk right passed it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm Polyus:

@Jake - thanks for the tip.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm sphere:

I saw a promo for Ducktails on Facebook.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm Polyus:

Crystal Syphon trivia: two members of this band are closely related to Hammerhead guitarist P. Sanders
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Liz Berg:

Did not know that, Polyus!
Avatar 2:59pm Claw!:

Thanks, Liz! Killer show, as always!
Have a great week. :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...pulling all-nighter out of necessity in old age is *really* hard !...but makes for suggestible practically psychedelic state that makes great sets like these uhmaazing...carry on...
