Listener comments!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:01pm Alison Porchnik:

Maybe it's all for the best.
  3:05pm Laura L:

You think Andy's really sorry? Emoticon doesn't look sincere.
Avatar 3:12pm Irwin:

Only my BFFs are allowed to comment today. So far, so good.
Avatar 3:12pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I make no claims to BFF-hood, but I'm a guiltless Kingsbury Manx fan. And I vote.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm rrg:

We are all dumbstruck.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm Alison Porchnik:

Be on guard: some mysterious GFF could pop up too.
  3:15pm Kwilde:

Was the video American Pie?
Avatar 3:16pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

...although that was much more recent Manx. I've drank deeply the first four (up to Aztec Discipline) ... didn't realize they went beyond.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm Ken From Hyde Park:

When in doubt, blame Andy Breckman.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm Mike East:

fusion bombs?
Avatar 3:21pm βrian:

Irwin, you might try cooler background colors ...
Avatar 3:21pm steve:

im going to guess from that screengrab that Andy finally managed to get "15 Jokes" taken down
Avatar 3:24pm βrian:

I once saw a Noh show in Kyoto.
  3:24pm Dean:

Hey, wait a second. I came up with "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim" ages ago. Cease and desist!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm Ike:

I thought that was going to devolve into Irwin vs. U.S. Postal Service yet again, but it didn't. Everybody celebrate!
Avatar 3:27pm Irwin:

Ike, say something nice about the USPS.
Avatar 3:31pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

The post office up the street from here is consistently air-conditioned.
...they may not actually DO anything in there, but I'll take what I can get.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm Ike:

If I'm nice to them, they're usually nice to me. And one of the smaller branches around here is open on Sundays (Orthodox neighborhood).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm Ike:

(If I'm willing to walk east several blocks to Awesome Hat-ville a.k.a. Boro Park.)
  3:33pm Anonymous coward:

Compared to the postal services of other countries, they are incredibly reliable at getting mail delivered.
Avatar 3:34pm Irwin:

They're better than Mexico. But that's RACIST of me to say.
Avatar 3:35pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

HOWEVER: what has become of international postage rates from the USA in the last couple of years is enough to warrant insane violence.
Avatar 3:35pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

...which is, of course, the best form of violence.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm Ike:

Well, Mexico grows far better avocados, so now we're even.
  3:35pm Dean:

It's also postalist.
Avatar 3:35pm Irwin:

And saying the USPS is better than Mexico's isn't much of a compliment.
  3:37pm Anonymous coward:

Not just mexico. I dont know. I read something years ago about how they are more reliable than most europe as well.
Avatar 3:37pm Irwin:

Ike, if you wanna know, I hate the Mexican postal system more than the USPS. That's based on years of experience attempting to send correspondence to clients in Veracruz and Taxco. But I hate Mexican banks more than I hate the Mexican postal system.
  3:37pm Anonymous coward:

USPS gave Bukowski a job.
Avatar 3:38pm Irwin:

They fired Whitman.
  3:42pm Dean:

Somebody should develop a Yelp for postal services.
Avatar 3:42pm steve:

the people behind the counter at my post office are consistently nice
Avatar 3:43pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Mum worked at USPS headquarters here in DC. 30 years ago, the building was convenient to the arcade at the underground mall nearby, so my teenage needs were satisfied.
Avatar 3:44pm steve:

there's one vile, perpetually angry woman who works at the Jersey City post office... but all the other postal workers just seem to laugh at her, so its ok.
Avatar 3:45pm Irwin:

All this LUB for the you ess pee yes. Happy, Ike?
Avatar 3:46pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

however, the huge fire they had at HQ back then was quite a thing. Carbon stain on the outside of HQ stayed there for years.
  3:49pm Dean:

Carbon Stain's second album was a scorcher.
Avatar 3:49pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

so many brave 72-column punched-cards fell in the service of their country...
Avatar 3:51pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I'm tellin' Janis Ian on fb about that lousy hiphop remix...
Avatar 3:52pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...okay nevermind...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55pm Īke:

Ike & the USPS, sitting in a tree? Nah, I don't like it THAT much. It doesn't have a very nice figure. Too much cement, not enough curves. Now, the Eisenhower Interstate Highway System, on the other hand... oh YEAH! Come on over here and sit on my lap, sexy!
Avatar 3:55pm Irwin:

The Interstate is really bad for biking. I speak from experience.
Avatar 3:56pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Ike in the fast lane...
  3:56pm Fredericks:

Rodd Keith? Now you oughta play some Ellery.
Avatar 3:57pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...but don't bike in the fast lane...
  3:58pm berbo:

the other day I caught part of CBC radio interview w/BJ Snowden. She writes songs about Canada.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm rrg:

She is known to this group of people.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm Rich in Washington:

I can't tell if this is real Joe Frank or a Joe Frank parody.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm Mike East:

Its all a simulation, Rich. www.space.com...
  4:18pm Anonymous coward:

Sounds like young Joe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm Rich in Washington:

thank Bob for a new paradigm! I'd been laboring under the delusion that my entire existence was lived out on an old VHS tape that someone forgot to rewind that's sitting in the bottom of a return bin of an old, boarded-up Blockbuster video store.
  4:41pm Courtney of Morris:

This is every other week right?
  4:43pm Anonymous coward:

Wow, Simon and Siomon ran until 1995. I wouldat put that firmly in the 80s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm Mike East:

unless otherwise noted, Courtney
Avatar 4:45pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Mighty Joe Young favored 'Simian & Simian'...
  4:46pm bloopy:

Joe Frank is so hypnotic. I can listen to him speak anything all day.
  4:47pm lulu:

ugh joe frank - why!?
Avatar 4:47pm Irwin:

The shows in this series run from the mid-1980s to 2014. I'm skipping shows that primarily feature actors; very early shows, many of which sound weak; and shows which contain woefully outdated references. Fortunately, few fall into the "woeful" category. Most hold up well as works of dramatic genius.
  4:51pm berbo:

Best. Job Interview. Ever.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:03pm rrg:

There's a new Joe Frank "Unfictional" dated May 29. 2015.
Avatar 5:05pm Irwin:

Good to know, rrg! I'll explore.
Avatar 5:06pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Thx rrg!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:23pm Carmichael:

Hello Irwin and gang. UPS just e-mailed me that my tea shipment had arrived "on the front porch behind the post". Try doing that, postal people.
  5:24pm Dean:

USPS--at least the Priority Mail Express folks--does that *all the time* in my neighborhood.
  5:25pm Dean:

And on Sunday's, too.
  5:25pm Laura L:

@ Irwin & RRG--speaking of dramatic genius--am going to see P&T tomorrow night, yay.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29pm Carmichael:

You live in a magic neighborhood, Dean.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm rrg:

Yay, indeed. Please say hi. I saw the Broadway show a few weeks ago and will be going again this Saturday (so, no Brian Dewan show for me). It's just a perfect piece of theater. So much of the LV show was transported to NYC, which hasn't been the case of their "out-of-town" shows for years.
  5:30pm Dean:

Yeah, well, if I could only get City Hall out here to recalibrate the rainbow and pick up after the unicorns.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm rrg:

Where do you get your tea, Carmichael? Mine comes from Upton tea in Massachusetts.
Avatar 5:35pm Irwin:

Saw the P&T show last weekend. Refuckingmarkable. Flabberfuckingasting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm rrg:

To coin a phrase.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm Carmichael:

@rrg: Harney's Teas, in Millerton NY. www.harney.com
  5:41pm Laura L:

@RRG I have to miss Brian Dewan too this weekend, alas--schedule conflict. I will say hullo for you, RRG, and pass along your compliments to them too, Irwin! Think I better write it on a Post-it so I don't botch it.

Avatar 5:44pm Irwin:

Ten Wheel Drive: for Clay Pigeon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm rrg:

Is he a listener?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm rrg:

I guess everyone is, or can be, given the archive.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm Carmichael:

Would Clay like these guys? I figure him more of a Cinderella fan.
Avatar 5:48pm Irwin:

Horn-rock. Yeah, Clay pops a nut for this stuff.
Avatar 5:48pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...sounds like Mothers meet Blood Sweat & Tears (diggit)...
Avatar 5:48pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

(...& a bit of Sly now...)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:48pm Carmichael:

I'm a big Cold Blood fan. Maybe we more in common than I think ...
Avatar 5:48pm Irwin:

Laura, translate, please.
Avatar 5:49pm Irwin:

There's a dog in there somewhere.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm rrg:

Oh, right, put her on the spot, why don't you?
  5:49pm Laura L:

Beware the War Hound!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm dale:

that sounded like clifton davis and melba moore frontin' chicago.
  5:51pm Listener Robert:

Irwin, if you're paying att'n to your show, you probably haven't seen this one Jesse Walker put up at Reason's Hit & Run blog -- cloudfront-media.reason.com... -- which I think you should consider for future use.
  5:56pm wizard frog:

"Andy Breckm..." This video is no longer available due to copyright claim by Andy Breckman.
  5:57pm Clay:

Love Cold Blood/Lydia Pense ... especially the Sisyphus LP. Also the forgotten Motown horn-rockers, Puzzle. And why isn't Chicago in the Hall of Fame? Grand Funk? instead ... Green Day :>( Great show, Ir! Thanks for playing trax from CC7!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57pm rrg:

Dinnertime. Thanks, Irwin, and catch youse all later again some other later again time.
