Good morning long lost Peeps, I'm back from vacay and a minor medical procedure! I'll sure miss the opiates but they were no substitute for the greatest stay in the nay
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:36am Bob W.:

Bed music is usually Bert Kaempfert. In this case, the tune was The Happy Trumpeter.

I wonder…
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:45am Ken From Hyde Park:

This record is also great Bob, check it out.
Avatar 9:51am Cheri Pi:

Heya Pierre! My holiday was fantastic! Yes I'd say we generally go in August, although I like to travel all year, wherever and whenever I can.
Avatar 9:51am Cheri Pi:

Avatar 9:57am Marcel M:

174 steps, eh?
Avatar 9:57am bobdoesthings:

I once had Shlitz... can't wear those pants again. So embarassing.
Avatar 9:57am Hot Mess:

And when you're out of beer, you've got nothing for breakfast.
Avatar 9:58am Marcel M:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00am Ken From Hyde Park:

Kenny G would totally read off the 1174 individual processing steps of brewing Schlitz Beer.
Avatar 10:00am bobdoesthings:

hmmmmmm pretty sure shlitz still exists. I worked at a beer distributer upstate NY about 6 years ago and we had small amounts of it.. no one ever bought it .. except an old man every other week.
Avatar 10:05am pierre:

Avatar 10:05am Cheri Pi:

I only wish I had made my return at 9.26am, maybe next year, EH?? Pierre, speaking of France, the doom band Monarch! is playing in Cincinnati next month, I'm so excited!! Do you know them yet? I heard them on WFMU first.
Avatar 10:09am Marcel M:

@Bob: I think he was saying someone bought the brand name, but its not the same thing anymore.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10am Bob W.:

Ha ha! Minions! And, yeah, Schlitz exists as a "brand"/logo/name, like Schaefer and many others. Even Pabst doesn't own a brewery. Weird.
Avatar 10:12am pierre:

oh yeah Monarch ! they're good.
They're a bit what I'd called harsh doom
they don't have that "high" out there Doom that particularly speak to me, but I like them. They're Franco-American
Avatar 10:12am bobdoesthings:

@marcel - oh! missed that. I thought he said it was gone.
@bobW- ah yes. Schaefer too. that's another one that only old men bought. also.. Genesee
  10:20am Mark:

This Gian Franco action is pretty schnazzy...
Avatar 10:22am Claw!:

Buenos dias, good people!

Kuff Dam Fukk man!
Avatar 10:26am Marcel M:

Damn this Chicas! series is just killer...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28am JtotheK:

adding to the beer talk -- Schlitz is still around, a few years ago they had a campaign because they were going back to the 'original formula'. it's not bad for cheap swill...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29am Guido from Cologne:

i ordered both chicas
just waiting
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:31am JtotheK:

... and Pabst is going to open a brewery in Milwaukee in 2016. from the AP story: 'The new brewery would make many of Pabst's pre-Prohibition brands as well as new craft beers inspired by recipes from the company's archives. The brewery will include a tasting room, beer garden and a restaurant and bar.'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32am Ken From Hyde Park:

Yark! I haven't done a century ride in like 25 years.
Avatar 10:34am bobdoesthings:

@jtotheK- If they were smart they'd market themselves to hipsters. All hipsters love to pretend they love cheap swill with vintage/iconic americana logos.. It's just about the coool old looking can for a lot of young'uns.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53am fleep:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:54am JtotheK:

@bobdoesthings -- for a while Pabst was the cheap beer of choice at local bars...and in some places it still is. i have yet to settle on a cheap beer, it had been Hamms.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:54am Lizardner Dave:

You may think it's goofy, but the an in the moon is a Newfie....

awww. we gotta get together and drank some more again. that was fun.
Avatar 11:34am Cheri Pi:

We drank all the beer :)
Avatar 11:35am Cecile:

twas tasty
Avatar 11:36am Rev. Turnip Druid:

i was sending blessings of tikis, booze, and helicopters from hawai'i to the land of taxidermy & beersies - i think there were synchronized trips going on.
Avatar 11:37am Cheri Pi:

And they were duly received, did you get your beer & pasty blessings from us?
Avatar 11:38am Cheri Pi:

You would have perceived them in the form of being able to drink supernatural amounts of beersies
Avatar 11:39am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Blessings indeed received. There's a decided lack of deciduous trees there, of course. Felt a bit alien. But the mad army of feral chickens (and booze & helicopters) made up for it.
Avatar 11:41am Cheri Pi:

We had black bearsies and Pines all the way
Avatar 11:41am Cheri Pi:

Cecile saw a mythical creature, did she say did she say??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42am efd:

sorry for the confusing promo, Bob! I should have asked Liz to update it on Monday.
Avatar 11:50am bobdoesthings:

From one Bob to another... Thanks Bob W! great show this morn. !!!
  11:51am Mark:

Bob, I haven't had the pleasure of hearing you before today, you really put together a really nice show, a lot of great music! Looked at your profile, your fill-ins are all too infrequent.
  11:52am Mark:

Long time between fill-ins before a few weeks ago--maybe you were in jail...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54am Mike East:

caught the last hour, great stuff, Bob!
Avatar 11:56am Cecile:

Yes! I saw a coywolf - coyote/wolf hybrid. We were wondering about that funky wolf-dog with a merle coat and long legs on the side of the road, and then we looked it up!
Avatar 11:57am Rev. Turnip Druid:

well that definitely beats a feral chicken. no question.
Avatar 11:58am bobdoesthings:

ah Charlie uses this bed... nice. thanks bob!
Avatar 11:59am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar 11:59am Cecile:

gorgeous animal, and kind of goofy. It saw the car and gave that weird "der?" face that wolves do when they see cars.
Avatar 9:58am Michael Shelley:

Heck of a show!
