I play music that is old and that is new. Some of it is digital while some is analog. It is from many different countries; sometimes it is loud and at other times it is quiet.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:15am maestroso:

Mayuko, since you like Ruins, I'm sure you're familiar with Yoshida Tatsuya's other project Koenjihyakkei. "Live at Koenji High" is an awesome concert.
  7:18am Claire:

Thank you for this Mayuko.
  7:20am P-90:

Ohayo, DJ Mayuko! Yes, this show is sending comfort.
Avatar 7:20am mauri:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21am Polyus:

Mayuko! Good morning.
Avatar 7:23am Mayuko:

maestroso, I started listening to his stuff relatively recent, besides he's got tons of side projects - I only know Zubi-Zuba other than Ruins so far. I'll def check Koenji Hyakkei out, thank you!
  7:25am joe!:

Avatar 7:26am Dave B:

Avatar 7:27am Mayuko:

Thank you for tuning in, Claire! and Ohayo, P-90, Polyus! Glad this is working out for you mauri, that Crescent stuff is what the Friday 9pm DJ Daniel Blumin put out from the label he used to run.
Avatar 7:28am Dave B:

gonna have to wait for the archives to check that first set

Avatar 7:28am Mayuko:

Good morning, Dave B! Heading to work?
  7:29am Scuttle:

That Red Krayola song was lovely!
Your show is awesome.
Avatar 7:29am Dave B:

not until 9 this am Mayuko! (Last week was an early start, I've returned to my regularly scheduled hours)
Avatar 7:32am Dave B:

and I guess in relation to that Crescent track you could say:

"there, where the fire was, something Blumin."
Avatar 7:32am Mayuko:

Hi joe! Your boss can talk to our wonderful staffer Joe McG at WFMU on behalf of me, since he's already here, haha! Thanks for your kind words.
Avatar 7:34am Mayuko:

Avatar 7:44am Mayuko:

Dave B, could you bring me some cofffee too, please. I haven't been caffeinated for almost 20hrs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45am Guido from Cologne:

one fact i never knew:
the real founding year of 39 Clock is somewhat 1969, when the two buddies started making sounds, but never (before New Wave DIY dawned) dared to step out to the public.
  7:48am devoid:

Wow. Probably 10 years since I heard TKD6K. Thank you.
Avatar 8:01am Dave B:

I would if I could Mayuko... C|_|
Avatar 8:02am Mayuko:

Guido! I didn't know they actually started that early either! I wonder what they sounded like when they just started then.
Avatar 8:02am Mayuko:

devoid, I love her. Glad you enjoyed it!
Avatar 8:10am Dave B:

if anyone's within earshot of Damrosch Park tonight, there's some free music happening - Nortec Collective + Fussible (plus Wolfgang Flür)

Avatar 8:12am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

When living in SoCal went to see a 'World' Music show @ UCSB - & a Chinese Pipa player was featured. In my ignorance, I wondered how much music could possibly come out of this flat pear-shaped piece of wood w/ few strings or frets. A masterful performance of a centuries-old song about a battle stunned me tho' - complete w/ anthems & cannon fire - & I thot - my gawd - this is like Hendrix doing the Star Spangled Banner - but from 100s of years ago !!...
  8:21am devoid:

Excuse my ignorance Mayuko, but will you have your own show after you finish filling in? Have enjoyed these past few weeks immensely.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:24am fred:

@devoid: I certainly hope she will!
Avatar 8:25am Dave B:

^ ditto ^
Avatar 8:26am Mayuko:

Thank you, devoid! I have been really enjoying doing shows too - we'll see what the station manager Ken says!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:27am maestroso:

You certainly have my vote, Mayuko!
  8:28am devoid:

Hm. I think it's best I do the talking. Ken, call me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:34am Rebecca Lewis:

Mayuko, I have really been enjoying the shows you have done. I hate to turn off this one to leave the house. But I can listen to the rest of the show in the archives later (after I put up the links to it that is).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:37am Nate K:

I like this Nuno Canavarro action. Good 8:36 AM music. I should try to learn a thing or two.
Avatar 8:37am Mayuko:

Yay! Thanks everyone for showing support! We'll see how it goes! And thank you Rebecca, for your kind words and helping us out always!
Avatar 8:40am Mayuko:

Good morning, Nate K! I'm sorta burning it down too this morning (was my initial feeling for this show anyway.....)
Avatar 8:42am mauri:

abayo mayuko.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:43am sinister dexter:

wow! loving your show Mayuko thank you ..... also your other recent fill in shows very good!
Avatar 8:44am Mayuko:

mauri, that's pretty particular type of Japanese, so funny to hear that from you on the comment board, haha. matane.
Avatar 8:46am Mayuko:

Thank you for listening to my shows, sinister dexter! I think you could see my progress in terms of handling equipments as you heard the previous ones, haha.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:47am Nate K:

Yes! That image and quote are both great.
Avatar 8:50am Mayuko:

By the way, "Yake-ato Nani Yara Saite Iru" is a haiku by a Japanese poet Santouka Taneda. I wanted New Jersey people to know Santouka is not just a ramen place.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56am Guido from Cologne:

I must say : thank you for the entertainment!
NJoyed very much!
Cheers Mayuko!
  8:56am joe!:
