Cooh John:

Good morning. I'm in need of a mule team to pull me to work.

There's something really nice to listen to blues and folky stuff in early morning. I'm tired and done with my job, but kinda wanna stay here keep listening to these songs.

...I don't wanna get up yet, but tuned in !...

Cooh John:

I appreciate the oblique and dry humor.

Just yesterday I stumbled upon singer and researcher Joan O'Bryant who has two Folkways albums in the late 50. Really nice folk songs - just her voice and guitar and it reminded me on Myriam Gendron's "Not so deep as a well" and lost singer-songwriter Connie Converse. So if that rings some bells, check her out.

@Jeffrey That's so cool! I learned about her when I found this photo album: www.flickr.com... - the photos of Mary C. Parler recording the two guys in the barber shop are so great!

Jeffrey Davison:

Check out her website. Her shows coming up: www.joannasternbergmusic.com...

Joanna is an amazing singer and musician. Thanks for introducing her to those of us who hadn't heard her yet, Jeffrey. The Planet is always such a nice way to start a saturday.

Oh, and another tip of the hat to Mike Sin, who always does such a polished job on these live sets.
Stuart Rose:

What a talented songwriter and singer.
The songs are heartfelt, unpretentious, and yet there are these sophisticated musical and lyrical touches nicely threaded in.

And she has such a delightful girlish modesty and whimsy.
Joanna Sternberg:
