Hey Fabio!
  3:17pm P-90:

Ciao Fabio. Interesting mood in the first set.
  3:19pm cheri:

in my opinion i think james last should've been in the rock and roll hall of fame a long time ago! anyone agree? god is with you now, james.
Avatar 3:22pm V Priceless:

..and the shot glass, I might add.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm RZ:

Great episode, Fabio!
  3:26pm P-90:

"Trans Europe": 1977. Kraftwerk were amazingly far along in their style for that time.
  3:26pm nic:

no tears !!!
  3:28pm WADE:

Killer vibe going on the program today
Avatar 3:35pm JakeGould:

So… Anyone ask Fabio what he thinks of 3 hours of Clay tonight? I’m into it.
Avatar 3:43pm Cheri Pi:

Keith Hudson is a fave with me too Fabio
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm Īke:

If it's all music, that should be terrifying, @Jake. I'll have to see how much of it I can stand. I'm predicting that I last about a minute. Heh!
  3:45pm Dean:

Einselganger was on Casablanca, was it not?
  3:46pm Dean:

Ah, right, Oasis. "Oasis Records became the first US subsidiary label of Casablanca Records," per discogs.
  3:47pm nic:

total killer 4 sure !!!
  3:48pm Asparagus:

The Vandals singer is Dave Quackenbush
  3:48pm Asparagus:

So smoke that
Avatar 3:50pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

no more meetings, dammit!
  3:52pm Mark:

Dude, this is the strangest thing--I grew up near Detroit, and SRC used to get quite a bit of airplay locally, especially "Black Sheep." I heard he died recently, and I picked up a great CD with all 3 of their albums on it. And today YOU'RE PLAYING IT! Some obscure band from Detroit that hasn't made a record in 45 years! WTF?
Avatar 3:54pm Cheri Pi:

that's crazy Mark
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

SRC - very interesting I know *nothing* about this Psych band on the scene w/ MC5 &tc. Heard a track posted in a fb group - this one I think!: Made me think of Vanilla Fudge w/ the organ - but not - more like Morgen from NYC (whom I love) as that portentous & somewhat doomy Post-Summer of Love Psych - & that interesting place between Psych & Metal a tiny bit too (Frijid Pinks & things)...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Pink Faeries...Motorhead...Damned...& I say to myself - what a wonderful world...
  3:58pm Mark:

"He" being Gary Quackenbush the guitar player...
Avatar 3:58pm Cheri Pi:

RevRab do you know that comp Lovin' Fire? That's the vibe I was getting www.allmusic.com...
Avatar 4:00pm Cheri Pi:

Clay & Fab you should dü the düel with Düul today, you crazy kids
Avatar 4:00pm Cheri Pi:

Avatar 4:01pm V Priceless:

sad to report Patrick Macnee RIP : (
  4:02pm P-90:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

No C. Pi - looks delish (@least a track or two). There's Freakbeat into Proto-Prog too...
  4:02pm Mark:

Fuzz guitar and sitar makes a nice seque, say my ears.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm common:

this is helpin
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

WNYU's 'Plastic Tales from the Marshmallow Dimension' podcast uses of a version of this song for main bed - but not this one - or is it...
Avatar 4:09pm V Priceless:

nice call, Fabio!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Tommy James!
Avatar 4:12pm V Priceless:

the ghost of Hubert Humphrey sends his thanks!
Avatar 4:14pm Chris from DC:

Yay, Starving Weirdos
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar 4:20pm Cecile:

  4:23pm P-90:

I confess: I'm a HUGE Tommy James & Shodells fan...
Avatar 4:26pm V Priceless:

@P-90 - same; my buddy Art is a veritable encyclopedia of Tommy James & Shondells data.

  4:38pm Mark:

Really your whole show today is amazing and great. Take the rest of the week off! Until next Thursday.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm redkayak:

Hi everyone!
Swag For Life Member 4:41pm karmester:

please please change this music.. this repetitive 2 chord thing is just terrible.
  4:43pm P-90:

@V.Priceless: In addition to the worthiness of things like "Cellophane Symphony", just think of the five or six huge hits top-ten hits they had during the sixties, and how weirdly idiosyncratic each one is, and how completely different they all are one from another.

IF: by any chance you haven't heard Dave the Spazz'z interview with Tommy J. from a few years back, check it out on the archive...
Avatar 4:44pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

The Law of the Heads states clearly that any instrumental tune of this type must run 12 minutes MINIMUM.
Avatar 4:45pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

or, hell, that might just be my own law.
Avatar 4:45pm Cheri Pi:

37 minutes preferrubly
  4:45pm P-90:

No, it is an official Law of The Heads
Avatar 4:46pm V Priceless:

@P-90 - thanks for the lead on the Spazz interview - will check that out! Agreed on all fronts!

Fabio: no Failure in sight...or sound! Great stuff!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:46pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Breathing is only two things.
Avatar 4:47pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

37 minutes would do fine.
Avatar 4:51pm V Priceless:

Rock and Roll Enamel!
Avatar 4:54pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I had good Animal Roll at the feral sushi place around the corner. Bit hairy, though..
Avatar 4:54pm V Priceless:

ha + yuk, Rev!
Avatar 4:56pm JakeGould:

  4:58pm marc:

It goes without saying that everyone on the planet should love WFMU
Avatar 4:59pm Chris from DC:

Oh bummer, Patrick McNee
  4:59pm Mark:

Avatar 4:59pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

NOOOOO, not Steed! Whoa.. Love that show. 93 and all, but...
  4:59pm Mark:

Get Smart
  5:00pm Harpsichrist:

FABIO! what was that awesome bumper music featuring distorted, reverbed, psychedelic harpsichord just before you started naming the tracks in the last set??? that was AWESOME. (also, sorry bout James Last.)
Avatar 5:00pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Diana Rigg is still with the company, there's that...
  5:01pm mosquito:

Don't forget the great Get Smart
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:02pm paul b:

Coming full circle on the Avengers - It was the George Lazenby Bond movie that had Diana Rigg in it
  5:09pm P-90:

So sad about Chris Lee, Now Patrick Macnee...!
Chris and Macnee did two movies together as Holmes and Watson in the 90's.
Avatar 5:13pm quinn:

I wonder what permanent damage my son will occur as a result of listening to this show pretty much weekly since birth
Avatar 5:13pm quinn:

  5:14pm P-90:

quinn: He'll be a stout lad for sure.
Avatar 5:19pm MenfussMike:

Unusual discharges perhaps

Hi friends.
Avatar 5:42pm dale:

Avatar 5:44pm Marcel M:

I too look to Fabio's facebook for my obituaries! hehe
  5:45pm Dean:

Can you say "telefunken" on FCC-regulated airwaves?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm Stevel:

Beautiful talk-over, all the time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm Ike:

Ha ha, Clay Pidge running up and tapping the post there.
Avatar 5:46pm Marcel M:

Does Clay not realize he has been dead for quite some time?
Avatar 5:48pm dale:

the material is good obviously, but the production on the nick drake albums is just stunning. sparse when it has to be and lush the rest of the time.
  5:48pm Fredericks:

A ramp up on Nick Drake? Those things ruined many a radio tape for me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm Cliff:

Well that was amazing....I think I just instantly became a Nick Drake fan (never heard of him before!)
Avatar 5:53pm dale:

cliff - nick drake requires no repeated listenings to love. but it does get better each time. except for pink moon, which was used in a volkswagon commercial. i may never listen to that again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm Mike East:

I gotta be in the right mood for Nick Drake. Conveniently, I am in that mood now.
Avatar 5:55pm Marcel M:

His finger picking is incredible. I read that he had such bad stage fright that he would face away from the booth when he recorded. Tragic guy.. he was also never fully accepted in the "folk" scene of the time in England, because he was different and wasn't "blue collar" enough or something. But he was miles a head of any of those idiots anyway.
Avatar 5:58pm TDK60:

Nick Drake went his own way.
Avatar 5:58pm Marcel M:

He was a rebel stressin' yo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59pm common:

perfect music for this very sad day. thank you fabio
