Listener comments!

Avatar 3:01pm Claw!:

Hahah... Nice image, Irwin. I say the dog wins.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm Polyus:

Smart money is on the dog.
Avatar 3:06pm V Priceless:

hey Irwin! Dogs rule..no time for kids....
  3:07pm burpage:

when a child becomes a mass murderer starting early with the family dog and then the parents very proud to start the cycle again as they did with their oldest child
  3:14pm Tony Seymour:

turn the page.....on burpage! yikes!
  3:14pm burpage:

hehehe just a thought
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm common:

that's right, vp!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm coelacanth:

olá Irwin, Bear!, Irwinians
  3:16pm Tony Seymour:

spooky thought. leave it at that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm coelacanth:

i say the kid & the dog join forces against the adults.
Avatar 3:19pm Claw!:

Hoooraaay, it's my fishy friend! ヽ(^◇^*)/
  3:19pm AnAnonymousParty:

Oh, I thought the caption was what the kid was saying. Ain't perspective something?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm blee:

As long as the kid controls his opponents head, he's got this one.
Avatar 3:22pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...as the 'baby' of my family: ya don't hafta get called the dog's name too many times to get the message...
Avatar 3:22pm Claw!:

Man, that kid ain't shit.
Avatar 3:22pm Michael:

Hi Irwin. Is that tribute to Ludwig Van?
  3:22pm Listening Out There:

This music...it's...it's...incorrect...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm Polyus:

The parents had better hope the dog wins, it's too small to hurt them. The kid, on the other hand, will never forget and will go Menendez on them as soon as he's old enough.
  3:23pm AnAnonymousParty:

Somewhere, Betoven is smiling.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm BLCKDGRD:

Christ, this Glory Glory shit, Amanda hasn't aged well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm coelacanth:

i only have as long as it takes to uncomfortably stuff sustenance into my body.
Avatar 3:23pm Irwin:

Michael: No idea. Title verbatim.
Avatar 3:27pm Claw!:

Better make it good, Fish.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm coelacanth:

spanakopita. i'm not complaining!
Avatar 3:29pm Claw!:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm common:

yay for smiley smile!
Avatar 3:39pm V Priceless:

i could use a Martini bomb right about now
  3:40pm jan:

love this "Science and Health' track
  3:54pm Listener Robert:

That artwork & caption reminds me that yesterday at the Bronx Warriors spring training clinic (children, non-contact, recruiting for fall football), the very grandfatherly Jay Demers asked a bunch of little children he'd just finished with how they liked the Thunderdome. I didn't have a chance to see what he'd been doing w them as I was running my own station, but apparently whatever Thunderdome was, the kids thought it was fun.
Avatar 3:54pm cosmic matrix:

this is one of my favorite songs!
  3:56pm jan:

And happy to have another new discovery: Broadcast. thanks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm coelacanth:

Loved this supernova, madder rose.
Avatar 3:57pm Irwin:

jan: All Broadcast albums are great. Lead singer Trish died (young) a few years ago. What a voice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05pm coelacanth:

back to the fields i go. Thanks Irwin. ciao animals.
Avatar 4:05pm Claw!:

Later, Fish. Rock hard, ride free.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm common:

see you coelacanth!
  4:18pm Alison Porchnik:

Imagine this song covered by Barry White.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm Carmichael:

Heya Irwin and dog lovers.
Avatar 4:30pm cosmic matrix:

I heard about Trish. I think it was pnemonia? Fuck.
Avatar 4:30pm cosmic matrix:

Great show, btw.
Avatar 4:31pm cosmic matrix:

  4:35pm Dvbinnj:

Where is "Pablo the Blowfish?
Avatar 4:38pm Claw!:

Good advice regarding the Sun, Irwin.
  4:40pm Alison Porchnik:

This song insinuates something very disturbing. But it's quite catchy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm Carmichael:

Daddy loves his Northern Soul.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm common:

quite a nice show, irwin!
  4:44pm Calvin Vinlac:

Dukes of Stratosphear-ish
Avatar 4:45pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...yeah - they totally copped from the Dukes...
Avatar 4:47pm Irwin:

It's no secret that Boyce & Hart ripped off the Dukes!
Avatar 4:47pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...& I think Martin Newell knows the Dukes personally...
Avatar 4:49pm Irwin:

You know who really stole all their riffs from the Dukes? PINK FUCKING FLOYD.
Avatar 4:49pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Syd knew where the Dukes lived.
  4:51pm Calvin Vinlac:

"The Dukes were good if that was the kind of music that you were into. I think it was just a matter of where the atmosphere was. At the time, you know. We were all very into that kind of sound. But there's always different sounds for different times. At least, I like to think of it as that way. They were either one way or the other. Know what I mean?" -Syd Barrett
Avatar 4:52pm V Priceless:

alas, what has become of The Red Curtain?
  4:54pm berbo:

The Dukes (or DoS as they were known back in the day) were the turned Bill Gates on to LSD.
Avatar 4:54pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Syd woulda been better off of course if he hadn't known - more's the pity. Cheers...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:54pm common:

hey, my theme song!
  4:55pm Jack:

Irwin, unless I tell you otherwise I'm here listening ( and usually enjoying ) your show. Thanks for playing the jazz music. And the other stuff too.
Avatar 5:00pm Irwin:

'Lo, Jack. I appreciate your appreciation. Rock, as they say, on.
  5:05pm phat:

Name one Grand Slam.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10pm Caryn:

There was a fine Finnish band called Grand Slam. Does that count?
Avatar 5:11pm Claw!:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12pm Caryn:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12pm Carmichael:

Denny's has several types of Grand Slams.
Avatar 5:13pm Claw!:

You were on here ALL THE TIME during the marathon, and now I almost never see you... What gives, Woman?
  5:15pm Alison Porchnik:

Carmichael - don't let us forget Moon Over My Hammy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:16pm Caryn:

@Bear: I'm here, but I mainly listen while multitasking other stuff. Rarely have time to follow the comments board. Except for the week I was in Greece. No listening then.
  5:16pm Martinibomb:

Whoa! Thanks for the play today -- that's one of my faves :-P
Avatar 5:17pm Irwin:

Alison, where is your avatar?
  5:18pm Listening Out There:

The Hank Mobley probably predates Herbie Hancock's "Watermelon Man"...but has a similar melody.
Avatar 5:18pm Claw!:

Gotcha. Well, it's always good to catch you on here. :-) Hope you had an awesome time in Greece!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:21pm Caryn:

@Bear: It was lovely. And considerably warmer than back home. Stayed in a cheap resort run by a delightful gay couple and their cute dogs. All good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:21pm Carmichael:

Genya Raven. Kinda Lydia Pence-ish.
  5:22pm katy:

Nice show! Is 'The Dictator' getting aired on the 24th or the 17th? (I'm guessing 24th, but there is contradicting info here www.wfmu.org/playlists/IC )
Avatar 5:22pm Irwin:

Only bigger.
Avatar 5:23pm Irwin:

Katy: I'll have that fixed. Thanks for pointing out the error. Dictator airs on the 24th. It was rescheduled.
  5:27pm Tony Seymour:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm blee:

Avatar 5:33pm Claw!:

Avatar 5:42pm Irwin:

  5:44pm Listening Out There:

The Bernard Purdie? Wowzers...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm Carmichael:

Avatar 5:45pm Claw!:

Yes! Great track.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm chris:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm chris:

Avatar 5:48pm Irwin:

Carmichael: Yes -- they both appear on this playlist!
Avatar 5:50pm Irwin:

This one goes out to loyal listener David.
Avatar 5:52pm glenn:

keep the puppy. less trouble in the long run.
Avatar 5:53pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...but not this David! Interesting track; I can hear this being the band that had Peter Green, *&* the band that had Stevie Nicks...
Avatar 5:55pm Irwin:

And yet neither are in this edition of FM.
Avatar 5:56pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

: )
  5:56pm spodiodi:

ABBA are turning over in their polyester. Ouch.
Avatar 5:58pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

  6:00pm Listening Out There:

It's all Esperanto to me...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:00pm Guido from Cologne:

this was abused as carnival song
Avatar 6:01pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Thx DJ IC !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:02pm Rich in Washington:

some fellow radioheads and I thought it would be a hoot doing an entire program of Esperanto music but quickly learned that there's a real dearth of interesting stuff done in that language.
