good evening thomas. there was great lamentation and gnashing of teeth over on the Ning Nong comments board this week about you and he being off the schedule. you are both much loved...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:08am Ken From Hyde Park:

See you soon, Ning Nong, Dave Bombay, Thomas, Kurt & Martha. Am I forgetting anyone? Hope you all stay well and return when you can.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:21am Andrew Waterloo:

Not surprisingly, this is doing a good job at drowning out the conversation next to me.
Avatar 9:22am Thomas:

aw, thanks ausmanx and Ken FHP - but I will see you in less than a week, filling in for Evan Funk Davies!
Avatar 9:23am pierre:

Bonjour Thomas !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24am sphere:

hey Thomas! i am proud to say that my brain has been endangered numerous times.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Aloha.
  9:32am grtdiv:

why no more danger brain?
tell me it aint so!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:33am Greg from Bloomfield:

Morning, Thomas! Let's make this the radio equivalent of a Mortal Kombat finishing move!
Avatar 9:34am Cheri Pi:

My brain's gonna get soft if it's not in danger every week
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:41am Stevel:

Brainger!
Avatar 9:42am Thomas:

You guys are the best - but this is no farewell show! Just a temporary change of pace :)
Avatar 9:48am coelacanth:

'morning Thomas and Brainiacs
Avatar 9:49am Marcel M:

Morning friends
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Kewl.
...We got Faye back, but not so many goodies, perhaps. No use whining or blaming Ken I suppose: most DJs leaving say they need it...Also, this is a shorter Schedule coming up...
Avatar 9:51am Marcel M:

Will also miss you Fridays Thomas and look forward to your return
Avatar 9:54am coelacanth:

Yes i too am sorry to see you off the schedule.
...looking forward to many fill-ins!
Avatar 9:55am Marcel M:

I'm gonna keep my brain dangerous though by consuming more intoxicants in order to make up for your absence, so don't worry!
Avatar 9:56am Thomas:

Right on, RRN63. Many exciting additions to the schedule. I left Friday mornings by choice, but am excited to do fill-ins!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58am Greg from Bloomfield:

Oh, we know you're not going anywhere, TS. I'm still anticipating Keili's eventual return. (One time 10 or 12 years ago Rex took a season off and I freaked the F out because I thought he was leaving for good…)
Avatar 10:00am Thomas:

just wanted to be clear I've no Mortal Kombat move planned this morning
Avatar 10:00am Marcel M:

Yeah in general its proven to be in incredibly poor taste to question Ken's "decisions" on the comments boards with new schedules. Its often the DJs own personal call. Imagine the most annoying part of your job that you only really know the ins and outs of, and then after its finally done, a ton of people question you on it and complain. Oy vey.
Avatar 10:01am Marcel M:

Kinda similar to being the president I guess! (but we should complain about that).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02am common:

good friday!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:03am ausmanx:

"poor taste"? what's it got to do with taste. everyone likes some shows more than others. if a show is not on the schedule any more, it's perfectly fine to lament its departure. or do we just be silent and be happy about everything that's done? isn't it called "giving feedback" in management speak?
Avatar 10:04am Thomas:

aye, Marcel M. I was a program director once in college. in certain ways one of the hardest jobs i've had to do
Avatar 10:08am Marcel M:

Ausmanx thats not what I'm saying at all. I'm saying its in poor taste to complain to Ken, especially on his own show, about decisions he has supposedly made, that half the time are not decisions he has made. I'm not saying you have to like whatever the schedule is at all. I'm saying people don't understand why these decisions are made, so its lame to make assumptions and point a finger of blame.
Avatar 10:09am Marcel M:

Also understanding that the schedule changing is an essential part of FMU and anything free form in general. The "taste" I'm referring to has nothing to do with subjective personal opinion. Its about tact and class.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10am ausmanx:

i've not seen a single comments board where people have "blamed" (though i listen to only a few shows, they seemingly are some of those goin), quite the opposite, most just express affection for their favourite shows. that's the dominant sentiment. be careful not to consume, be silent, die. just the way the govenrment and their masters want it.
Avatar 10:11am Marcel M:

Ausmanx, again, I'm not saying I have a problem with that. We are not disagreeing. Peace be with you all.
Avatar 10:12am coelacanth:

it would be irresponsible to not question EVERYTHING you don't like, that isn't unavoidable. (especially concerning governing bodies.)
Avatar 10:16am Marcel M:

Ok. Last clarification: I agree with you, of course, coel. I'm talking about when people say things like, "It was a really poor decision on Ken's part to take X person off the air..." Which I see all the time. I'm not saying people shouldn't question anything... I'm also not saying people shouldn't express opinions on favorite DJs leaving. I did so myself earlier. I'm only saying its presumptuous to say something like that and usually very far from the truth.
Avatar 10:16am fred:

@ausmanx: This is unrelated, but Anthony Pateras told me to say hi to you
