Hi, Scott! It's been such a long time I don't listen to your show live. And what a beautiful song by Julia Holter.

Can I change the lap referenced in 3:07 comment to Julia Holter?

I think you can have both laps, @dc pät

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm chris:

hello, good people
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm Carmichael:

Hi Scott and laplanders. I know a woman named "Michele" who spells her name Michael. Maybe that's it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm common:

hey chris! all!
Avatar 3:46pm doca:

@Dean: I didn't get the Lindisfarne reference, but that's a beautiful derrière (to say it gently)
Avatar 3:46pm d¢ pät:

Carm, tell that woman to knock it off! It's damned confusing.
Avatar 3:48pm doca:

@Carmichael: Michele is a man's name in Italian
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm Carmichael:

OK, now I'm thoroughly confused.
  3:49pm Dean:

@doca: Humor impairment on my part, and a dose of unadulterated puerility, too. (Get the pun?) Both covers depict a young, nude white woman accompanied with a guitar. With luck my sexist humor deficiency for the day will have bottomed out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Guido from Cologne:

in trance ...
Avatar 3:52pm doca:

@Dean: Oh yes, lack of perception on my part, actually. It wasn't that bad of a joke.
  3:52pm Dean:

Either I didn't know or I just plain forgot that Fripp produced this thing.
  3:55pm Dean:

@doca: You call it lack of perception. I call it maturity.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Carmichael:

Doca, I dig your Charles Napier avatar.
Avatar 4:10pm doca:

Thanks, @Carmichael. I've already noticed it attracts lots of attention on the WFMUland. It seems the hidden desire of many listeners is to shed off material possessions and become a star-traveling space hippie.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18pm Scott Williams:

@Guido - I'm not the 1st. can you guess who was?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm Guido from Cologne:

The Passage are nearly forgotten in Germany .. unless you were an attentive mag-reader or a cut-out picker back in the 80ies.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22pm Scott Williams:

Michael Goodstein and John Allen have both beaten me to that song. Faye and a couple others have played other trax. Happy to hear it, Claw!

Anyone catch the end of “Mad Men”? When Don has that revelation about making a whole film centered around a bushman getting hit in the head with a Coca Cola bottle? Genius!

@VPriceless: You work with a Dolan? Cablevision is coming to get you to renew.
Avatar 5:25pm V Priceless:

@Jake - I'd figure it would be Verizon, at the rate they bombard me with solicitations...jeez. Save a forest, already! I get a piece of mail a day from those clowns!
  5:26pm JakeGould:

I ditched Verizon 3 years ago. Best decision ever. Although I miss having a land line. Sound quality is so much better.
Avatar 5:29pm Bas NL:

Hi Scott! I love where your music is going :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm ikє:

I'm a little sad that I don't live on a FiOS block anymore, but I save a lot of $$ not having it. In reality, for MY purposes, the difference between 3Mb/s down and 30Mb/s down is academic. Netflix works fine with 3.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm Scott Williams:

Hey Bas! Danke!
  5:32pm JakeGould:

@Ike: Right on! I use TWC at the 3Mb/s rate and I never stream. So I can only use the next tier of 10Mb/s if… I don’t know…
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:32pm Ĩk∑:

Also, that Prurient was so good that it killed me. I'm commenting from the afterlife now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:33pm Scott Williams:

bummer, Ĩk∑! does that mean you won't come to stuff envelopes this week?
Avatar 5:34pm Claw!:

Ike, I'm glad that you've noticed Netflix working fine. I *just* signed up with Comcast for their basic-ass internet and they were (predictably) trying to get me to sign up with their expensive Internet for streaming movies. I'm just gonna wait and see how this Internet works in the meantime.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:35pm Ĩkє:

@Claw!, the 1st minute or so of Netflix is occasionally muddy-looking. Just wait a minute and it jumps right up to HD.
Avatar 5:35pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Thx for my record label stickers envelope stuffers!...
@Claw: Is that ComCast's 'Blast'?
  5:36pm JakeGould:

@Claw!: You should always start from the most basic tier and move up if you need to or get a good enough deal. Ever try to downgrade with a service provider? Good luck.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:36pm Carmichael:

Presence or absence of being has no effect on the stuffing of real or imagined envelopes. Patrick Swayze told me that.
Avatar 5:37pm Claw!:

RevRab - Yeah, they were trying to get me on that Blast joint. Are you familiar? Have you noticed a significant difference?
Avatar 5:38pm Claw!:

Yeah, Jake, that was my logic, too. I figured I can just upgrade if I really need to.

Cool, Ike. I'm getting it hooked up tomorrow, so I'll get to try it out soon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm Ĩk∑:

@S.W., I'll be there, but I may be slightly invisible. If you see some t-shirts folding themselves or swag floating into envelopes seemingly on its own, that's me practicing my Poltergeist-y telekinesis.
Avatar 5:39pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@Claw!: I was so hyped on getting my own home service (when everyone else goes mobile...) I bought the Blast - so need to downgrade & see if it's any diff: I got an old 'flowerpot' Mac & it's probably wasted on me & I'm payin' out the nose for nuthin'...
  5:40pm JakeGould:

@Claw!: FWIW, TWC has one of the better deals in NYC area. $14.99 for basic Internet at 3Mb/s. That is less than any fee I have ever paid for any ISP.
Avatar 5:41pm Claw!:

@RevRab - Yeah, Dude! That shit is SO expensive! And that's just for Internet alone!
Avatar 5:42pm V Priceless:

cops gone......all is as it was....a mystery.
  5:42pm JakeGould:

This convo is thrilling. Let’s go back to talking about how Mad Man died.
Avatar 5:43pm Claw!:

@Jake - That... is insanely cheap. Holy crap.
But I'm in Baltimore, and Comcast is all we get in my hood. Gross.
Avatar 5:43pm V Priceless:

fun show, Scott! Thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm Scott Williams:

thanks V Priceless!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm ikє:

I'm glad the Comcast-TWC merger fell through. TWC's reputation was already so bad that they had to offer that $15 deal to get customers back and make nice w/NYC politicians. Comcast might've nixed it. And Comcast is even worse; they've treated my family members horribly in MD.
  5:45pm P-90:

LOVING this Sound of Wilderness
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm Guido from Cologne:

Awesome song, just shared on FB
  5:47pm JakeGould:

@Claw!: Yeah, TWC has a nice monopoly in NYC and is competitive against Verizon which everyone hates in NYC. Thus the low price. I mean one can get 50Mb/s for $40 in NYC. That’s nuts. But if Comcast got into this… Crap… Forget it… We’d all be screwed. Neo-Ma Bell.
Avatar 5:50pm Claw!:

Yeah, I'm also glad that merger fell through. Both companies are so awful - together, they would've made a Turd Voltron the likes of which we've never seen before.
  5:52pm P-90:

...and goodness knows, we could all use a little less Turd Voltron these days
Avatar 5:52pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar 5:55pm Claw!:

Hey Scott, thanks for a sweet show! Always a good time... :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm Ĩkє:

I'm also glad that plan to merge Scott Williams with Joe McGasko fell through. The idea of an unholy blob-like amalgamated creature controlling all swag on the 4th floor of FMU is not *necessarily* terrible, but....
  5:56pm JakeGould:

Also Google Fiber is forcing cable companies to be competitive outside of the major cities.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57pm common:
