This single is making me feel nauseous. Someone put it near their spaceheater as a kid?
Avatar 9:11pm Mugsy:

Enjoyed the show last Saturday. Fun stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12pm Pat Byrne:

Thanks, Mugsy! That means the world!
Avatar 9:13pm JakeGould:

The rest of the singles are settling my stomach now.
  9:14pm em2:

this elmore james actually sounds better cuase of all the pops and hiss... dig
Avatar 9:16pm JakeGould:

This Hank Williams sounds great.
Avatar 9:17pm glenn:

insomnia strip searched me and put me on a plane back home.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:18pm Pat Byrne:

Good to hear Jake. Thanks em2, and Hey Glenn!
Avatar 9:18pm JakeGould:

Little Richard? Is calm?
Avatar 9:20pm Dave the Spazz:

After a lot of thought on the matter, I've gotta say that this is my favorite Little Richard song. Both parts. And favorite Hendrix song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:22pm Pat Byrne:

Dave The Spazz, agreed 101%
Avatar 9:22pm glenn:

i like most of the hendrix songs i don't hear 300 times a day.
Avatar 9:22pm glenn:

or at least, used to hear.
Avatar 9:25pm glenn:

best riff ever written by a fifteen year old from dubberly, louisiana.
Avatar 9:25pm JakeGould:

Pat, killing it tonight despite that warped “Nude Beach” track that was placed near someone’s hot plate one Shabbos and then got into your hands somehow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:29pm Pat Byrne:

Thanks Jake. Glad we're not dwelling on things... Geez Louise! ;P
Avatar 9:29pm glenn:

door to door?
Avatar 9:30pm glenn:

never mind.
Avatar 9:31pm JakeGould:

Sweet Heetcha-hykah!
Avatar 9:32pm JakeGould:

@Pat: I seriously like damaged and “well loved” records. They have history.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:35pm Pat Byrne:

Oh, I believe it! Just bustin' beans!
Avatar 9:43pm JakeGould:

Just out of curiosity, but has anyone found a record at the record fair—in the dollar bin or something—that clearly has some weird history. Like writing or stickers? Pretty certain a true thrift store is the only source of that magic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50pm Pat Byrne:

Happens All The Time! Why, earlier today, Micheal Shelley was talking about that very phenomenon!
  9:51pm sugarwolf:

I've bought records at thrifts that had clippings of reviews of whatever musical the album was, but I don't think any from the record fair.
  9:52pm SeanG:

Music is the most important thing in the world.
Avatar 9:55pm JakeGould:

Sugarwolf understands what I mean. I think even record fair dollar bins get a once through that clears cruft like someone shoving a $1 bill or love note into the sleeve. Or some dealers have prominent rare items with some slight defacement. Like this Johnny Mathis LP/portrait combo I spotted that had “I’m Fruity” scrawled on it. instagram.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58pm sugarwolf:

well the Jacques Dutronc EP I bought last year says "année 1966" and "Mon(??) Josette" written on it.
  9:58pm em2:

not quite what you're talking about, but I once found a WMCA program guide inbetween records in a flea market bin
  10:00pm Cooh John:

Great fill between the legal ID's. Cbus loves you.
Avatar 10:01pm JakeGould:

@em2: Just talking about magical signs of a real human owning the LP instead of it just being an LP and a sleeve. That stuff. Like I worked in a college bookstore once and wow, the stuff we found in books we bought back. Boy howdy, people left all kinds of stuff behind.
  10:01pm Cooh John:

What show? I have a vacuum cleaner fetish.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04pm sugarwolf:

I found some Australian dude's UK landing card in a book I bought from I think Housing Works.
  10:06pm Cooh John:

Nice set list!
Avatar 10:08pm JakeGould:

@sugarwolf: Envious!
  10:10pm BP fan 114:

Pat, you weren't born yet when these artists performed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10pm sugarwolf:

@Jake: I think he was using it as a bookmark! I also found a ticket from the Tower of London in a library book.
Avatar 10:12pm Sean B.:

Simply amazing show tonight!. Thank you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14pm Blacktooth:

one time I went to the record fair and saw a bunch of people hunched over records. Scowling and smirking and frowning at each other. It was amazing.
Avatar 10:15pm JakeGould:

@sugarwolf: We found money used as bookmarks in college texts back in the 1980s. Also, horrible test blue books… Just horrible… What dolts!
  10:20pm em2:

Here is an example that was kinda "internet famous" a while ago:
Avatar 10:22pm JakeGould:

@em2: Yup! Stuff like that!
Avatar 10:23pm glenn:

when is that bliss from? sounds mid seventies.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26pm Pat Byrne:

Glenn, it's actually pretty new! members of the Slackers*
Avatar 10:26pm glenn:

  10:42pm P-90:

I always love Mary's old-fashioned Queens accent!
Avatar 10:43pm glenn:

greatest girl group ever.
Avatar 10:44pm JakeGould:

That Queens accent is perfect.

Avatar 10:46pm JakeGould:

Hey BGZ, what’s shaking in Texas?
Avatar 10:48pm Toddophonic:

Tonight's show is great! As much as I am enjoying it, I do think you might want to mix it up every once in awhile. Have you given any thought to ever doing a variety show???
Avatar 10:49pm JakeGould:

I think Todd deserves a Snickers for that idea.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50pm Pat Byrne:

Toddophonic- as much as I truly appreciate the encouragement- GO TO BED! You've had a long day and must be delirious...
Avatar 10:53pm Danne D:

BGZ :)
Avatar 10:53pm glenn:

oh, duchess.
Avatar 10:55pm Toddophonic:

Nice job flipping this Little Eva biscuit over!
Avatar 11:10pm glenn:

Avatar 11:13pm BadGuyZero:

@JakeGould: Thankfully no shaking.

Hi Danne!

  11:31pm P-90:

This vocal impression was a Best Show fave, brilliant!
Avatar 11:35pm JakeGould:

I like the idea of chain fights.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I think my favoritest Scharpling bit was the one where he ripped on the Gathering of the Juggalos.
  11:44pm Fro:

You can suck on my pipe
  11:47pm P-90:

"You = Beat-Up"
Avatar 11:50pm JakeGould:

Pipes versus chains? I say pipes win.
Avatar 11:53pm JakeGould:

Was this “Bunker Hill” song in Hairspray?
Avatar 11:55pm BadGuyZero:

TRIVIA: Link Wray played guitar on that Bunker Hill track.
Avatar 12:00am JakeGould:

Yeah, I was right one of my favorite scenes in “Hairspray”: www.youtube.com...
  12:01am P-90:

Thanks Pat!
Avatar 12:02am JakeGould:

Thank you, Pat!
