Hello and welcome, fine people!
Avatar 12:07pm βrian:

I'm fine like 60-grit sandpaper.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm Liz Berg:

I don't know about you, but I'm ready to plant some tomatoes.
Avatar 12:13pm βrian:

Ours are doing well in the window, waiting for the last frost to pass before putting on their garden trousers.
Avatar 12:14pm steve:

im about to blend some tasty tomato pineapple juice for lunch. thats pretty close.
Avatar 12:14pm ranjit:

I wanna plant a million hot peppers, but my saved seeds haven't sprouted yet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14pm Polyus:

bleep bloop!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Alright...who's messing with the phone keypad?
Avatar 12:29pm d¢ pät:

I'm with Liz--planting this weekend hopefully.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm Mike East:

we just repotted our tomato plant last night...she is growing nicely.
Avatar 12:30pm d¢ pät:

I was saving seeds from one year to the next, had a whole system going but last year had bad results and got discouraged.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31pm Mike East:

was just thinking about garlic this morning...can you just plant a clove of garlic and have it grow? is that a dumb question?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32pm Liz Berg:

I can only plant in containers, so last year I decided only small tomatoes (cherry/grape varieties) due to less than stellar results trying to grow larger fruit varieties. There's nothing like a plot of dirt in the ground!
Avatar 12:32pm steve:

i just walked by the Greenpoint Expo Center and apparently there's a big hot sauce convention happening this weekend. i wonder if the place'll still smell like hot sauce for the record fair.
Avatar 12:32pm doncaballero:

Well, this is interesting . . . I have not heard this Riley/Africa Express recording.
Avatar 12:33pm d¢ pät:

same here, Liz. Oh for a plot...

@Mike East: yeah, just stick a clove in the ground.
Avatar 12:34pm La Monte:

Well I've heard on WFMU like ten times!
  12:34pm other david:

I'm sure those home grown tomatoes would go well in a sandwich.. when that time comes.

Listening in on a grotesquely overcrowded train from Dublin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm Mike East:

me too, Liz. Mine is currently residing in a used yogurt quart. Not sure the variety, though I would guess tiny tomatoes. My daughter planted the seeds in school.
@dc pat - it'll be a pot, but I'm gonna do it...though we are currently out of garlic, of which I am ashamed.
Avatar 12:36pm d¢ pät:

I grow a lot of green onions. Because you never need a bunch, just one or two.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm Mike East:

oh, that's a great idea too. is that the same deal? can you put the stem of a store bought scallion in the dirt and let it grow?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42pm Liz Berg:

Don't know whether to blame the squirrels or a bad winter for my bulb failure this year... I employed a paw-deterring layer of cut up chicken-wire, so it might just be the crappy winter and crappy containers are to blame.
Avatar 12:44pm d¢ pät:

Actually you should buy a pack of green onion seeds. They come up almost immediately and are so easy to grow. Start harvesting to thin. Keep going.
Avatar 12:45pm d¢ pät:

I have to restock my dirt. It's just used up and full of disease. Don't know what to do with the old. OH, my neighbor has a giant dirt pile in the back. Great!
Avatar 12:45pm βrian:

Garlic is planted in the late fall. Ours are about 3 inches high now in Wisconsin.
  12:45pm i k e:

@steve@12:32, that'd be AWESOME.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Afternoon, Liz! Feeling stressed and stabby, but this is definitely helping.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm YETI BOB:

wish i could get more excited about the new wire record ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48pm Liz Berg:

Ha ha, feeling "stabby"! I've been there!
Avatar 12:49pm βrian:

Never heard that adjective, but I can imagine Ren Höek being stabby, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Avatar 12:52pm d¢ pät:

You can get away with planting garlic in spring but yeah it's better in the fall.
Avatar 12:56pm d¢ pät:

Ah Ren Höek. Kids and I just saw the episode where they pay off some babies to hit the road so they can take their places. Hilarious.

Avatar 1:49pm Ghost of Posts Past:

i played some guitar music at a guitar center once. there was nothing cliche about it. mainly do to the fact that i can't "play." also wore my robin blue cardigan to stand out even more.
Avatar 1:50pm Ghost of Posts Past:

@Liz Berg it's pronounced WEENERVILE!! not "whinerville" loved that show as a kid.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm Polyus:

The drum dept. is an even worse experience.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm Greg from Bloomfield:

I'll be in CA during Record Fair. Can't remember the last one I missed :(
Avatar 1:54pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I was once so poor & so desperate to play a guitar - in a store I endured playing along to 'Sharp Dressed Man' as a totally sarky shop worker made fun of me thoughout. I didn't care...
Avatar 1:55pm Ghost of Posts Past:

intro to weinerville, very weird/cool show: www.youtube.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:57pm Liz Berg:

Sorry you'll miss the fair, Greg, but eat some tacos for me!
  1:58pm SeanG:

Hands up in the air!
  1:59pm JakeGould:

Now I want tacos.
Avatar 2:00pm steve:

Brooklyn these days must have the highest density of record collectors on the eastern seaboard, no?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm Liz Berg:

That's what I'm sayin', Steve! The Record Fair in Brooklyn is gonna be awesome!
Avatar 2:03pm steve:

if anyone finds a good copy of Suburban Lawns s/t please just say my name three times and i will appear
  2:05pm JakeGould:

I’m actually going to the record fair this year because it’s in Brooklyn. So there. And I have grown to like the G train. So there.
Avatar 2:08pm Ghost of Posts Past:

hopefully i will be attending the record fair for a bit, then i'll be helping my professor with his music video. it's in a gallery just a few blocks away from the expo center :)

The Soft Moon!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm Guido from Cologne:

Gonna see Soft Moon next moth.
I heard their shows are worthwhile.
Experimental retro-constructivistic films as background projections and stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm Caryn:

Seriously, someone mentions the combination of robot dance party and stabbing, and in 20 minutes, nobody links to a clip of Roberto from Futurama?!? Sheesh.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm Greg from Bloomfield:

@Caryn: I KNEW there was a Futurama reference I was missing, but all I kept coming up with was CLAMPS!
Avatar 2:22pm Ghost of Posts Past:

@Guido you're so lucky!!! can you take me with you? :0
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Good afternoon all. Been enjoying the show back in my Lower 40, Liz.
@ Jake, i guess the G train ain't so bad,compared to our lovely R!
  2:22pm johnnyed:

Great show as always!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm Caryn:

@Greg: well, they are similarly insane, thin robots with high-pitched voices and an obsession with a specific killing tool, so it's easy to forget there's two of them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm Guido from Cologne:

Laeving for Richard Dawson show right now.
Loved what I got from the show Liz!
Enjoy Fall special in spring ! (How is that?)
