Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55am Greg from Bloomfield:

Thanks, Chris! I thought I looked like a bald, soggy mess, but you know best.
Avatar 9:56am Polyus:

My head feels like a watermelon and I want to claw my eyes out because they itch so. But it's nice of you to say, Chris.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:56am DCE:

your voice is in a slightly lower register today...everything OK?
Avatar 9:58am pierre:

Avatar 10:07am d¢ pät:

sorry I'm late boss...
Avatar 10:09am Cecile:

I have this. Destroys me everytime.
You wouldn't have any life-affirming goat-roasting, toe-tasering black metal right now, would you Chris M?
Swag For Life Member 10:09am SPIRITBEANS:

Does anyone listening know of a Bangladeshi Metal band in the NYC area? Thanks!
Avatar 10:11am Cecile:

Spirit, try contacting Rob Weisberg at Transpacific Sound Paradise at WFMU. He knows all the bands from all over the world.
Avatar 10:11am Chris M.:

@Cecile i promise to play some completely destroying metal later on
Swag For Life Member 10:11am SPIRITBEANS:

Thank you Cecile!
Avatar 10:11am coelacanth:

hola Chris and figments.

Avatar 10:12am Cecile:

Avatar 10:12am Chris M.:

@coelacanth: i am thank you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14am Lewis:

gotta love the Big Sound
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15am Lewis:

but for some reason I am reminded of Steven Wright in the Reservoir Dogs soundtrack
Avatar 10:15am Cecile:

I'll tell you how bad allergies are.

I had minor outpatient surgery last Friday, had to switch from local to general anesthesia mid-procedure because of untreated sleep apnea, and ended up on oxygen for six hours, and my throat was scraped up because of the tube they had to use. But all I could think of was my damn runny nose all weekend.

I am built yooper-tough, so I am good now.
Avatar 10:16am coelacanth:

i want to make a smiley face, but i cannot bring myself to make an emoticon.
Glad you're better!
Avatar 10:18am Cecile:

wow haven't heard this in 30 years.
Avatar 10:19am Polyus:

Gary at Bodega Pop may also be a good resource re:Bangladeshi metal. He casts quite a wide net as well.
Avatar 10:21am coelacanth:

Cecile that Sucks.
-those complications are why i forgo anesthetics whenever i'm allowed to.

...yes Gary too,for sure.
Avatar 10:21am Cecile:

good call, poly! And of course the usual suspects - Wm Berger and Brian Turner.
Avatar 10:22am Cheri Pi:

this is my jam.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:22am Ken From Hyde Park:

@Cecile - That sounds pretty bad. I've resorted to wads of tissues in the nose to drain the junk away. Unfortunately, global warming models predict worsening of allergies.
Avatar 10:24am Polyus:

I had never been allergic to anything until the last 5 years or so.
Avatar 10:24am Cecile:

coel, it's usually a breeze for me, but this new sleep apnea thing is a pain. Gotta get in for that sleep study.

I know, Ken. For me it's one long post nasal drip into my lungs. Fortunately Claritin is hooking a girl up pretty good.
Avatar 10:24am Cecile:

Avatar 10:26am coelacanth:

SH! i'm trying to watch tv! but i can't figure out whether it's Vicky Lawrence or David Bowie. (though i think it's really neither.)
Avatar 10:27am Cheri Pi:

damn you've really been through the ringer Cecile, I think this calls for some slippery elm or marshmallow root tea to restore your natural slime coat.
Avatar 10:30am Cheri Pi:

Ya, I take Generatin daily, even in Winter.
Avatar 10:30am coelacanth:

Yes- what Cheri Pi said.
i've had great help from marshmallow root...also astragalus to address the root of the problem.

  10:50am qwerty:

Avatar 10:50am Marcel M:

Thats the million dollar question
Avatar 10:51am ottovonbqe:

oh, they never said what the device does? ok.
  10:51am a listener:

I'd say it's more like a bung than a bong
Swag For Life Member 10:51am SPIRITBEANS:

Thanks Polyus, coelcanth and Cecile!
Avatar 10:52am d¢ pät:

how do they not crack up??
  10:52am Layet:

I love this show a ton a thon
Avatar 10:53am ottovonbqe:

they are both wearing devices
  10:53am P-90:

Nothing like a little S&W in the morning...
  10:54am a listener:

I'd say more like S&M than S&W
  10:55am P-90:

"Dragon Furries": now that has possibilities
Avatar 10:56am d¢ pät:

holy crap! My eyes just happened to land on these words in an article I was looking at: "I have been carefully following the wearable device market.."
  11:00am P-90:

That's called "synchronicity"
Avatar 11:01am Polyus:

Cold and crappy where I am, so this is fitting.
Avatar 11:01am Chris M.:

i'll play the Police next as per your request
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:03am Greg from Bloomfield:

Avatar 11:04am coelacanth:

it's very stormy - raining hard and windy here. i love it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06am Mike East:

I love this weather when I don't have to go out in it. I am freakin' soaked below the waist
  11:07am P-90:

NO! Wait! Achtung! That was NOT in any way, shape, or form a request! Please proceed as per usual.
Avatar 11:09am coelacanth:

Avatar 11:12am Chris M.:

@P-90: now you want to hear U2's Achtung Baby? OK, coming up next.
Avatar 11:12am coelacanth:

oh! Mike East -that was for P-90's comment!
i'm sorry you're soaked. i'm glad i'm not working today.(which would be outside.)
  11:13am P-90:

NO! ..but the actual audition scene from The Producers wouldn't hurt
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15am Greg from Bloomfield:

This is not a day for working. This is a day for laying down and avoiding.
Avatar 11:15am Chris M.:

sorry, i don't have that
Avatar 11:15am Chris M.:

@Greg from Bloomfield: this is the perfect day for a pint of scotch
Avatar 11:16am coelacanth:

i like the direction the police took on this one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19am Greg from Bloomfield:

Why can't this be old-timey Mad Men times where no one would care if I drank scotch at my desk?
Avatar 11:21am Polyus:

Avatar 11:22am coelacanth:

it depends who owns the desk.
Avatar 11:23am d¢ pät:

I often wonder that @Greg. Like Lou on Mary Tyler Moore. "I'm having an Irish coffee, Mar." "Mr. Grant, there's no coffee or cream in that--it's just straight scotch."
Avatar 11:26am d¢ pät:

I always forget, Cookie Monster = death metal?
Avatar 11:27am Chris M.:

this is death metal
Avatar 11:27am d¢ pät:

great, thanks!
Avatar 11:28am coelacanth:

mmm now i want an irish coffee! i keep jameson in the house, but not coffee.
oh well.
Avatar 11:37am Cecile:

  11:37am P-90:

Fascinating, the power of suggestion. Like what unexpectedly reading the phrase "Irish coffee" can do...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am Greg from Bloomfield:

This is stressing me out—it has been 23 hours since I had an Irish coffee...
Avatar 11:43am Cecile:

Avatar 11:43am coelacanth:

  11:43am Dean:

These guys are Greek. My people.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53am DCE:

sharp left-turn!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54am DCE:

remember when Heinz ketchup used this in a commercial?
Avatar 11:54am coelacanth:

Thank you Chris
ciao humans
Avatar 11:54am Polyus:

Yes I do, DCE. Actually the first thing I thought of.
Avatar 11:55am MenfussMike:

haha. yes! i never looked at catsup the same.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55am Ken From Hyde Park:

Anyone following the Boston Marathon today? Ethiopians & Kenyans looking good, but a couple of Americans not far off the pace.
  11:57am P-90:

I think maybe if one is actually ancient enough to remember the original "life" of a song like that as a hit, one doesn't think of the ketchup commercial first. Maybe second.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57am Greg from Bloomfield:

Swill! First thing I think of every time I hear that song.
Avatar 11:57am d¢ pät:

I wonder if Ethiopians and Kenyans would make good cyclists. Or maybe it's completely different than running.
  11:59am P-90:

"Hey Baby, do you like it in some brine?"
  8:28pm will:

Who reads the comments posted after the show is over? Well will write one anyway to say omigosh great show here Chris went very deep, really mind-bogglingly deep, Best Will J
