A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Morning, Trouble! Yet more snow coming down over here. Spring has given up, but at least we still have Billie Holiday.

Love the artwork, mornin'.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02am ikє:

That's not the first time Canadian Glenn has been mistaken for another Glenn. There seem to be as many Glenns as Kens around here. And Daves.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02am MD:

Hello Modern people in the modern world!!!
Avatar 11:03am kwhitehead:

Such great post-punk today, Trouble!
  11:04am Mark:

We used to call this kind of music "power pop."
Avatar 11:04am kwhitehead:

Oh, and you might want to share this w/your hubby. Very nice article about libraries: bit.ly...

Librarians rule!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04am Jeezy:

Ah... Back in London in 92 again!
Avatar 11:06am probablyjohn:

Apparently Trouble thinking about Sarah makes it sound like WFMU's record library had been replaced with mine :)
  11:08am JakeGould:

Ahhh, power pop of the 1990s. What a weird era in indie world. Because some of the power pop was truly a mix of rock and pop. But then there came… “Twee”… And that designation, “Twee”… That makes me—and others—nauseous.
Avatar 11:08am Chris from DC:

Yep, Springfields were pre-Velvet Crush weren't they?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13am Trouble:

probably john: there is very little sarah in the record library here, we are listening to mostly my stuff. sadly there are HUGE gaps in the record library and i blame that on the gap b/w british and american music: weird and arbitrary gaps
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25am Brian in UK:

Hello Trouble. The magnolia trees are in full bloom and what a picture. So far the wind and rain have not hurried the leaves departure from the branches. Spring is really here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27am Polyus:

Missed Dom La Nena last night, sad to say. I heard it was a fun show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29am Trouble:

that sounds gorgeous brian in uk!! i adore magnolia trees, used to have a huge one in my backyard until my idiot neighbor chopped it. and an idiot on other side wacked down his row of forsythia. what is wrong with them? cretins
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:30am Trouble:

polyus: so sorry to hear. she is very performative live, had people in the aisles dancing and giving out awards for the best dancers
  11:32am JakeGould:

@Trouble: Curious, but when your tree-hating neighbors cut down their trees, did they just pave over their yard? I have seen a lot of that. Grew up in a crappy neighborhood in Brooklyn, but the gardens were really nice because people appreciated them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33am Brian in UK:

We have the only tree left in our Road in what passes for a front garden.
  11:35am Adrian in London:

Ooh, love this Bouquet song.
  11:37am Adrian in London:

I have a small ceanothus tree that I'm rather fond of.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37am Trouble:

jake: magnolia goofball is a weird old man who doesn't want to do yard work. forsythia idiot owned house and didnt live there so he had no idea how magical that blast of yellow bloom was to a color starved world. no paving nothing was put in its place=cretins
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am Brian in UK:

Trouble, just to let you know that Grasscut have a new one out soon.
Avatar 11:39am pierre:

woo Trouble !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am Brian in UK:

Wisteria time soon.
  11:41am Dean:

C'est un jeu de mots.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45am Trouble:

brian in uk was just listening to last one wondering what they were up to: thank you!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46am Trouble:

dont see any of those in my neck of the world adrian, looks gorgeous!
  11:49am JakeGould:

Ahh, I get it… Idiots… Still wonder about people who don’t want a little bit of niceness in their lives.
  11:49am dennis diken:

always an illuminating show, today is no exception!
  11:51am Mark:

Papa Bear seems very sincere and all that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53am AndrewC.:

I'm buying a new house with no trees in the garden. What should I plant? I definitely want some fruit as soon as possible. What else I wonder...
Avatar 11:54am Sem Chumbo:

Magnolia and forsythia lovin' with a side of cretin-bashing. Now THAT'S the free form way. Lovin' it. Thanks, Trouble, for the spins and the talk.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54am Santos L Halper:

Missed Billie, but enjoyed the rest. And the weekly dose of art is always welcome. Thanks DJ Trouble!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54am Trouble:

FIG! i wish i had more space, i would plant half a dozen of different varieties. i love the leave and of course the fruit! rapberries are super easy to grow
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54am Brian in UK:

Cherry trees grow fairly quick. Make sure it is an eater not cooker, too sharp.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55am Brian in UK:

Might have to net them agasinst the birds. Oh yes figs. They can take over.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:56am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Magnolias for Lady Day - perfect.
...Papa Bear voice sounded like Phil Ochs, speaking of...
- Thx Trouble !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:56am Uncle Michael:

Breaking lurker silence to thank you for Blossom.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:56am Brian in UK:

Lemons and limes in the lower pasture ofcourse.
Avatar 11:56am ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Is this Blossom Dearie singing en francais? Fantastique! Two great tastes that taste great together.
  11:56am JakeGould:

@AndrewC.: It completely depends on where you are located and what you want. So if there is a greenhouse or something similar nearby, best ask them. Ditto with neighbors. Might also want to check if your neighbors are jerks or not because fruit tends to fall past “property lines” and people take that personally when they have nothing better to do.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:56am Priscilla:

I planted some lilac twigs, and they grew really fast!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57am SeanG:

puttin on some lipstick
Avatar 11:57am Parq:

I also love this French Blossom. Hurry up and put it on the playlist so I can favorte-star it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57am Webhamster Henry:

It might as well be spring... in France.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57am Brian in UK:

  11:58am JakeGould:

@Trouble: Fig trees are great. The do need more care in the winter months. Don’t fig tree owners have to prune the branches and cover the tree in a tarp to deal with the winters? That’s why one can see tarp wrapped trees in some neighborhoods in the winter.
Avatar 11:58am Parq:

Ah. Merci.
  11:58am Dean:

Frank Morgan delivers this tune well, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58am Brian in UK:

Great show Monica, oops Trouble. That's a compliment.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59am AndrewC.:

Don't think I'll get much citrus in south east uk unfortunately! Figs is a good plan though. Thanks! There are some amazing trained climbing figs on the wall of Cliveden. Maybe I'll try something like that :)
Avatar 11:59am the Canterbury wood-elf:

Thanks for the Field Mice, Trouble! Looking forward to revisiting the first half of the show via the archives...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59am AndrewC.:

Thanks Jake, will definitely talk to the local experts!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:00pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:
