love love love "In C". thanks!
Avatar 12:04pm pierre:

well done for a wonderful marathon !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Afternoon, Liz! And congratulations on not having the Monday morning post-Hoof & Mouth slot! That said, poor Chris M.
Avatar 12:05pm thedunkel:

After Liz! Congrats on the Marathon!
  12:06pm Mark:

You kinda had to play Terry Riley after Trouble's show, didn't you?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm Liz Berg:

Thanks for a great Marathon, everybody!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm Webhamster Henry:

Let's have an "In C" stream.
Swag For Life Member 12:12pm Ralphine:

I suggest following this with "Johnny One Note."
Avatar 12:12pm dk:

yeah, if somebody made a stream with nothing but "In C" 24x7x365, i'd probably have to start sleeping with headphones on. y'know, so i don't miss anything.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14pm tomasz.:

damn that is actually a really good idea
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15pm steve:

wooo yeah
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15pm fleep:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15pm Kat in Chicago:

I was ready to strangle everyone I work with and then Liz put on In C and everything was better
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm tomasz.:

or get the H&M to do their own rendition some time
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm steve:

i've been thinking about making Generative Italo Disco software for years now, buts its just too much, Generative In C would probably be a lot easier!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm Liz Berg:

Both are great ideas, Steve!
Avatar 12:26pm Mdurek:

@steve will you write the code in C ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm chris:

Can't listen to the today :-( But wanted to say, seeing the horn blow 100% is totally awesome!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm chris:

*to the show... sigh
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm Webhamster Henry:

Some of you may know that I make experimental music apps (like the original WFMU radio app and the Andymatic Zingatron...) and a generalized in-C like generator app would be pretty easy to make.
Avatar 12:29pm Mdurek:

@webhamster write it in Objective C !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm Webhamster Henry:

<nerd talk>It certainly would be @Mdurek, I haven't tried Swift yet </ nerd talk>
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm steve:

nice one Mike! @Henry - right, that's pretty much what i was trying to say.
Avatar 12:33pm Mdurek:

I'm guessing there are plenty of similarly punned apps written in swift :P
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm steve:

i love the Andymatic Zingatron btw WH!
Avatar 12:37pm JakeGould:

Nice to see the goal reached in the 48 hours post end. I remember last year it was days—weeks?—later when that happened.
Avatar 12:39pm Mdurek:

this is the most insane version of Rage Over a Lost Penny I've ever heard..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm Webhamster Henry:

I guess I could do thatTaylor Swift noise remix app. OK I'll shut up now.
Congrats WFMU on reaching your goal! And thanks as always, Liz, for your over-the-airing of the Free Music Archive!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42pm BLCKDGRD:

Please make this stop or give me my money back.
Avatar 12:42pm cheyenne_h:

Yes! If anyone still wants to submit to this current Masters Remastered challenge they can win a theremin!!! It's open til April 3rd.
  12:42pm Robert:

I was playing computer pinball, which in this environment doesn't act right unless its crappy music is turned on, and this "Beethoven" was mixing with it very well.
Avatar 12:43pm JakeGould:

@Robert: Why you no logged in?
  12:44pm Listener Robert:

I am now.
  12:45pm Listener Robert:

Kenzo confirms registered "Robert" is a different user, but unregistered "Robert" is usually me.
  12:46pm r i s k y:

Weeee! Go Liz!
  12:46pm r i s k y:

YOU GOT IT! WE WANT IT! So dump the clutch on this piece!!
  12:46pm Listener Robert:

I mean, AFAICT, unregistered Robert is usually me. Kenzo would have no direct way to know that.
Avatar 12:48pm Mdurek:

@listener Robert, try spelling it with and underscore Robert_ . I did that and somehow Kenzo reclaimed Mdurek from some other user or just some robot ghost, and removed the underscore
Avatar 12:49pm Mdurek:

the Clubfunk is the shit
Avatar 12:49pm pierre:

isn't that a great feeling to think about the fact that the radio is going to stay strong for again another year !?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50pm steve:

every week, i still cant believe how much great relatively unknown stuff there is on the FMA...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I like how the alpine hat in the gif spins in the air as he puffs into the horn.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09pm KRYPT:

Congratulations Liz and all the WFMU family, the marathon was such fun to listen to and I can't wait to hear your premium, yay!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11pm Kat in Chicago:

Yes, that gif is adorable!
Avatar 1:15pm coelacanth:

hi Liz and All
Avatar 1:17pm JakeGould:

I’m impressed at how smooth the overall GIF animation looks. If you’ve ever done that kind of work, you know how difficult that can be.
Avatar 1:17pm Polyus:

Avatar 1:18pm coelacanth:

i did a variation on Satie, but it's not a "remix".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm Liz Berg:

Cool! Yes, uh remixologists! Not only remixes, but new renditions, covers, etc are accepted in the Masters Remastered Challenge:
Avatar 1:21pm pierre:

i am rewatching the Hoof & Mouth, that was a good one !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm RZ:

Glad to see you reached your marathon goal, Liz! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23pm Kat in Chicago:

That was a great Hoof & Mouth. Never thought I'd get that emotional over a Grand Funk Railroad cover.
Avatar 1:24pm JakeGould:

@KatinChicago: WFMU makes you realize you can shine a turd and it will be nice!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm Liz Berg:

Clay Pigeon can pretty much perform any song and make the audience swoon! He's a total pro!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm KRYPT:

I'm having such a good day and Love of Diagrams just made it even better.
Avatar 1:27pm pierre:

that guy Clay has the perfect stage presence to me
Avatar 1:32pm Jeff:

Yeah, I love the way he owns the room when he's performing. When he's singing, he *is* that guy.

(pic before the above one is Clay Pigeon and Matt Warwick singing together. Matt really really enjoyed it.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm Greg from Bloomfield:

He's UNREAL. At rehearsal he was at like 35%, claiming he can't hit the high notes like he used to. And then when it's Game Time he just turns it on like a switch.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36pm Liz Berg:

Great job on the alphorn guy, Greg! Love it!!
Avatar 1:37pm pierre:

I wish his show was more suitable to my time stream, of course there is archive, but then I wouldn't able to listen to WFMU shows in my own time stream, I don't have enough time to listen to all of the great radio !

And yes Greg, a big bravo from Paris for that graphics you do for FMU !!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Thanks so much! Now I totally get why Faye works in gifs, and I'm going to start stealing all her ideas.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm Mike East:

@Greg - you made that?! Great job! Was commenting on Trouble's show that I think its the best marathon gif yet!
Avatar 1:42pm coelacanth:

Greg, it's Beautiful!
(-and Faye's work is brilliant.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm chris:

I second that, Mike East. Yay, Greg! Yay for 100%! (stealing is the best form of flattery, or something like that)
  1:44pm Ike:

Ah, maybe that's why he's so insecure. He's used to getting that audience adoration, but doesn't perform regularly anymore, and misses it (??).
  1:44pm Claw!:

Greg, you did a terGIFfic job!
Avatar 1:46pm coelacanth:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm Greg from Bloomfield:

  1:46pm Claw!:

Fishy Spice! :-D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm steve:

the GIF is so freakin good. its just... so satisfying to stare at, even if it wasn't FMU related.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm steve:

on an unrelated note i just ate a can of sardines for lunch as i begin my broke ass post marathon pledge-o-rama belt tightening! but they were pretty good! guess i can't complain.
Avatar 1:48pm JakeGould:

“I'M GONNA PLOTZ YOU GUYS!” Plotz us guys? Go plotz yourself!
Avatar 1:49pm JakeGould:

“…i just ate a can of sardines for lunch…” My thoughts go out to your loved ones and your plumbing.
Avatar 1:49pm coelacanth:

yeah i did meditate on that visual for about 10 minutes...and then 5 more!

  1:55pm Listener Robert:

Thanks, Mdurek, but at least for now I'd just as soon be Listener Robert as underscore Robert.

Ken did say that ani-GIF was going to be great. I can'tdecide whether the bursts in the sky are fireworks or the horn blower is hyperventilating so much he's seeing stars. It works either way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm Caryn:

@steve: hey, my belt tightening involves cans of tuna and (if I feel fancy) mackerel! Canned fish buddies!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm Caryn:

My fave bit of the 100 % gif: the spinning hat. Delightful every time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm Ike:

Not much post-marathon belt tightening required here. I always pledge my beer money. (I can't stand beer.) (I miss out on camaraderie at bars, but I have more to pledge.)
Avatar 2:11pm coelacanth:

i like the way the musical notes fade one at a time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm steve:

high 5 Caryn! i had canned tuna on some tasty "pretzel bread" for lunch yesterday, and ate the remaining mouthful of canned tuna earlier today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm Caryn:

@coelacanth: I liked the growing music notes as the numbers increased throughout the Marathon, but at 100 %, I've become very hornblower-centric :)
Avatar 2:16pm coelacanth:

if you want less mercury in your body, eat tongol tuna instead of "light" or "albacore".
...it's also fairly harmless to dolphins because they dont swim together like the yellowfins & dolphins do. (the "dolphin safe" thing is bullshit, courtesy of r reagan.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm Caryn:

@steve: I mix my generic tuna with generic cottage cheese, and my generic mackerel with a can of generic beans.
Avatar 2:17pm coelacanth:

(i noticed the increasing notes too!)
  2:18pm Claw!:

What's that green leafiness that comes out with the cow and the dog, hmmmm?
  2:19pm rf:

Great set, wow
Avatar 2:19pm coelacanth:

Ha! i think Ken packed that cornucopia!
Avatar 2:20pm troyholder:

Hi Liz Berg, thanks for playing my song! You're the best!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm Greg from Bloomfield:

It was originally multi-colored flowers, but it made it difficult to read Muuro and Cow. But I like coelacanth's explanation!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Caryn:

It's all the "green" we've pledged to the station!
Avatar 2:24pm Chris M.:

i love the winning gif so much
Avatar 2:25pm t_J:

Hi Liz I loved earring Eskorbuto some weeks ago! yay congrats FMU on the marathon, am I developing elephant specs?.. better test my teeth for ivory then
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Thanks, Chris! I owe you a bee-uh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm Greg from Bloomfield:

I can't wait for JSBX. If I get stuck at work I'm gonna cry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm Caryn:

The only downside to WFMU reaching their goal is that the gif will soon go away :(
I'm hoping they'll keep it around for at least a week or two.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm chris:

Caryn, you can see the gif forever, as long as it doesn't get moved: wfmu.org... or you can just download it and save it to look at anytime you want to see the awesomeness
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:38pm Caryn:

@chris: oh, I've done that already, you can bet your patootie! (But I will just keep it for my personal enjoyment and will not infringe on any copyright, Greg!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm steve:

apparently windows 7 can't have an animated gif as a background (?). id totally make it my desktop bground !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Hello Liz & Everybody. Perhaps the Friendship Society should become the Self-Congratulation Society for a few hours. We ALL WIN with this achievement. MazelTov, one n' all!
Avatar 2:41pm coelacanth:

Greg do you mind?
...i already downloaded it to my desktop, as soon as i saw Caryn's post; but i'll delete it if you object.
Avatar 2:43pm JakeGould:

Stop asking for additional prizes past WFMU being on the air. Also, I plan on downloading Greg’s art and using it to sell coupon discount books to the elderly.
Avatar 2:43pm coelacanth:

ancient macbook wont either, but it'll show as a still and if someone is curious i'll open it with firefox for them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Greg from Bloomfield:

@everybody! Please do whatever you'd like with it! (Provided it doesn't involve the exchange of currency, obviously.)
  2:43pm Claw!:

Man, this Xetas stuff has been really good... If I wasn't broke from the marathon, I'd be ordering it immediately!
Avatar 2:44pm JakeGould:

Greg, I plan on sharing your GIF with a local gang tagger who will cop your style to show disdain for a rival gang on a store gate.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Liz Berg:

Thanks again everybody, and awesome job on helping us make our Marathon goal. You guys are the bestest!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Stevel:

Great show.
Avatar 2:57pm JakeGould:

@Greg: I hear it’s a slam against “The Lizzies” because the gang in question—who shall not be named—has a crush on “The Lizzies” but they won’t return the affection since they are “The Lizzies.”
  2:57pm oks:

thanks Liz! it was awesome!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm chris:

Avatar 3:05pm JakeGould:

Oh! And just sorry! I just realized I made a “The Lizzies” joke on Liz’s show! Completely oblivious to the odd parallel in names. Completely inadvertent. Respect. No harm. No foul. Sorry!
