Woo! Topical opener! Hey, Matt and all!
Avatar 2:03pm Mailman Tom:

Three cheers for Fats Domino !!!
Avatar 2:04pm Melissa Jean:

hay hiphiphooray!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm Brian C.:

Cued up, "Happy Birthday Johnny Cash"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm Brian C.:

Followed by "Happy Birthday to my mom"? Hey, you never know what you'll hear (and also appropriate)
Avatar 2:06pm Parq:

Good news for a change.
Avatar 2:06pm Parq:

And may I say, I feel better knowing I live in a world where there is a music label called Rice N'Gravy.
Avatar 2:10pm still b/p:

@ glenn -- (cross-program thread migration) -- Trump, as giant incorrigible idjit fuck-up, subbing for release of fearsome Kraken into the game/battle.

Avatar 2:20pm glenn:

the shamelessness and arrogance of the donald is beyond all comprehension.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm listener james from westwood:

he doesn't have to win to help the republicans. he just has to say outrageous shit and induce the democrats and their supporters and analysts to waste precious time and mindshare refuting or condemning it. some blandroid like romney coasts in on trump's wake, suddenly looks reasonable, while not getting the scrutiny he ought to have by those who fall for trump's trap. this is how we get bush v gore type elections. these people should be beaten flat, but they end up with alarmingly %s of the vote b/c folks get distracted or disgusted.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm listener james from westwood:

Avatar 2:26pm glenn:

compared to trump, romney IS reasonable.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm Mike East:

I wanna get back to New Orleans. I dig their style down there.
Avatar 2:29pm glenn:

need a place to stay? some friends of mine just bought a place in nola, and will be renting it out to visitors.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:30pm listener james from westwood:

Now that right there was a glorious Fats tribute.
  2:30pm Lore:

Before I Grow Too Old is just such an immaculate tune. Never tire of it!
  2:30pm Not Matt:

cross program thread migration - two thumbs down on that idea/practice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm Dominick:

That last song is my mantra
Avatar 2:31pm Parq:

Not sure Trump alone will make that much difference, one way or another. What really helped Dems in '12 was the parade of anybody-but-Mitt, candidate-of-the-month challengers. The public spent most of the election cycle watching one far-right nutcase after another parade across their TV screens, and that made a big difference for BHO and his ticket.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm Mike East:

@glenn - I'll let you know! that's awesome. I've got some great friends down there but they don't have room to house visitors.
Avatar 2:41pm glenn:

(i didn't want to say tourists)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm Brian in UK:

Hi Matt, you know how to pick 'em.
Avatar 2:48pm Wilson K:

Alternate Delia... beauty...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm Brian C.:

Interesting version of the Heartbreak hotel, On the Town Hall version Johnny's makin fun of Elvis, here he's lampooning Elvis imitators
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Brian C.:

"Alternate" Delia = Original form 1962
Avatar 2:59pm Wilson K:

Thanks Bri.
  3:00pm Luther:

There are 2 alternates of Delia on that box as well as the 1962 released version from The Sound of Johnny Cash LP.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03pm Stanley:

Avatar 3:04pm Wilson K:

Someone should really release a compilation of all the alternate versions and call it "What's the Delia?"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm listener james from westwood:

Power hour!! And it's not easy to pick just a half hour of Johnny.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm Brian C.:

there you go, it was an alternate Delia
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Ahoy from the Disgruntled Working Man!
Avatar 3:07pm Wilson K:

Cash reminds me of Neil Young in that no matter how much you listen to them, there's always some amazing track you somehow never heard
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm Dominick:

Ooga booga shooga booga. Words to live by
Avatar 3:22pm glenn:

ummmm. this needs b/p. news.nationalpost.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Always makes me think of Spazz' opening. That and "LOOOOOOORD!" and "Let's go!"
Avatar 3:24pm glenn:

honest to god, is there ANYTHING better than a live cam llama pursuit?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm listener james from westwood:

There is not.
Avatar 3:29pm still b/p:

Call a cowboy! Right as I started looking at it, a pick-up rolls in and a feller in the back lassos the llamster!
Avatar 3:38pm still b/p:

(re: cross-program thread migration. That early bit was only to follow up quick on something last-minute last-shift to which a response seemed helpful. But, as God is my witness, I will never practice CPTM again.)
