Herweg O'clock!
Avatar 3:11am Jherweg:

Howdy folks,.God is that really you?
  3:13am god:

no, my friend. you are god! this is the best radio show in existence!
Avatar 3:15am Jherweg:

That's way too much pressure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17am Ike:

Are you there, god? It's me, Cthulhu.

Ha ha, j/k, I'm just a random giant octopus named Margaret.
Avatar 3:18am Jherweg:

What was that ecto plasm in the street you took a picture of Ike?
  3:28am Kafuka:

A man who starts the show with Chrisma is more italian than italians
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29am Ike:

I was hoping somebody had been dumping out something fun like a bunch of rotting pandan-flavored stuff (pandan leaf is always a weird-looking unnatural green color). But another FMU listener suggested it was probably just antifreeze. Sigh. She's probably right. But that's boring. I say it was a PANDAN LEAF MONSTER!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36am Ike:

Agreed, L.A. sounds awful. Never actually been there but who wants to be stuck in traffic all the time? And as a long-time TV addict, I'm sooooo over L.A. filming locations. They're all played out. Glad so much stuff has moved to NYC.
Avatar 3:39am Mugsy:

Very soothing sounds. Hi Jonathan. Hi greatest listeners in the world.
Avatar 3:40am Bazinge:

An interviewer once asked Werner Herzog why he had moved to LA. He replied, " for the same reason the bank robber goes to the bank..... It's where the money is".
Avatar 3:43am Jherweg:

Good Morning mugsy......I love a lot of Werner Herzog movies,,, but man does he take himself way too seriously.....
Avatar 3:44am Jherweg:

That "My Best Fiend" documentary is so sick.
Avatar 3:45am BEAVO:

The Kinski-Herzog box set is great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47am Ike:

Ha ha, Herzog is a fucking international treasure. I love that he looks at a perfectly ordinary jungle and says, "the trees here are in misery and the birds are in misery -- I don't think they sing, they just screech in pain." Ooookay, Werner!
Avatar 3:49am god:

i first stumbled upon hearing this radio station when you aired my friend mina karimi (which was like a year ago or two?) but I didn't start listening to the playlist archives until a few weeks ago I have listened to every single one, so good!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49am Ike:

Avatar 3:49am Jherweg:

Didn't they find out that Kluas Kinski molested his daughter Nastassja?
Avatar 3:50am Jherweg:

Oh thanks God, how is Mina??
Avatar 3:51am Simon P:

this Annexus Quam just needs Devoto on vocals, lovely
Avatar 3:52am gefre:

last I heard vacationing in Puerto rico and making groovy art for an extended stay which was like a week ago so definitely good! haha
Avatar 3:53am god:

oops yea my handle is god it went to my registry name I am going to change that, fuck!
Avatar 3:56am Jherweg:

I did a few background extra jobs with Mina.
Avatar 3:57am BEAVO:

Herzog's commentary to Cobra Verde, the scene at the end where Kinski is leering an the naked African teen girls dancing he says "this was just wrong and dirty"
Avatar 3:58am god:

she is awesome!
Avatar 4:00am Bazinge:

The great ecstasy of wood carver Steiner is incredible. the slow-mo scenes of Walter Steiner flying down the ski slope with the eerie Popol Vuh music is haunting.
Avatar 4:03am Simon P:

was Grizzly Man for real? I'm not so sure
Avatar 4:04am BEAVO:

Robards got sick. it is in English some parts were dubbed.
  4:08am dickscumrok:

The commentary for Even Dwarves Started Small is interesting. Its Herzog, some other guy and Crispin Glover.
Avatar 4:09am Jherweg:

This Popol Vuh is to enhance the Herzog discussion.
Avatar 4:12am Bazinge:

On the night that Ian Curtis committed suicide, he told his friends he was staying in to watch a Werner Herzog film that was showing on BBC2. Stroszek. Herzog killed Ian Curtis!
  4:12am dickscumrok:

I think the first scene of Fata Morgana is hilarious. Werner Herzog does not.
  4:14am Kirill:

Great show Jonathan! Hello from Russia!
Avatar 4:17am Jherweg:

Wow Kirill, You may be the first russian listener to this show I know of! CooL!!
Avatar 4:19am Bazinge:

Best ever film from Russia is "Come and See". It makes Apocalypse Now look like something made by Walt Disney. здравствуйте
Avatar 4:20am BEAVO:

Kirill is the name of one of the monks in Tarkovsky's Andrei Rublev
Avatar 4:27am BEAVO:

Come and See, great war film.
Avatar 4:28am Jherweg:

I haven't seen it, I'll have to put it on my list.
Avatar 4:32am klauskosmas:

Am I tripping?
Avatar 4:34am Jherweg:

Perma Trippin' Kosmas!
  4:41am Moss:

Hey... Boyhood was filmed 2 weeks every year for 12 years.
Avatar 4:43am Jherweg:

Oh my mistake. still working two weeks every year is hardly hard work.
Avatar 4:56am Bazinge:

I love this Fabrice Baty.

Avatar 5:14am Simon P:

Blewits can be tasty
Avatar 5:15am Jherweg:

It's better than calling it "Blow Me".

Avatar 5:23am Bazinge:

You Blew it!
Avatar 5:23am Simon P:

Blame Popeye
  5:33am max:

Leave popeye out of this. I've been told it's got something to do with rowdy roddy piper!
Avatar 5:34am god:

sick track
Avatar 5:34am Jherweg:

I love Roddy!, it's a shame he's he's Canadian and we can't claim him as our own here in the states!
Avatar 5:36am Jherweg:

"They Live" is one of the greatest movies ever made.
Avatar 5:38am Sem Chumbo:

Go ahead, claim the Rowdy One.
Good morning, Jherweg, and all. Sorry to have missed all the film talk.
Avatar 5:49am Simon P:

always thought 'Hippie' and 'Riot' was a bit of an oxymoron
Avatar 5:54am Simon P:

thanks for show, Jon. See if you can get home without a single snowflake coming to rest on your person.
Avatar 5:55am fred:

Well played, Jonathan: Cinq Quatre following Black Sun works much better than I would have expected
  5:56am dickscumrok:

Agent provocateurs. Hippies who stir up riots.
Avatar 5:58am Simon P:

hmmm...never trust a Hippie
  5:59am Jack:
