Hi!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:05am Ken From Hyde Park:

I think the groundhog is reporting 60 more days of extreme snow and cold. He blames global warming. The Seahawks buried their final drive gameplan in his burrow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:05am Guido from Cologne:

Good morning!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:06am common:

hello!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:06am DCE:

"good morning," he said buried under a foot of snow.
Avatar 9:07am Cheri Pi:

we were promised a blizzard but we got nothing. I'm disappointed.
Avatar 9:08am Chris M.:

i've got my weather equipment this time so we should be set

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:09am Ken From Hyde Park:

If the Weather Channel calls this Winter Storm Phil, I am going to barf.
Avatar 9:09am Marcel M:

Winter storm Linus.. who comes up with these names??

Good morning everyone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:13am common:

no snow here. just slush. pleasant.
Avatar 9:13am Chris M.:

i'm going to start naming my hangovers. this one is Hangover Paula.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:15am Ken From Hyde Park:

@Chris M. - Is it a Category 3 or 4, or the dreaded Category 5 hangover?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16am Ken From Hyde Park:

Well, I think Category 5 means the victim is bed-ridden, so probably not that severe.
Avatar 9:16am Chris M.:

i'm doing this show from a cot. i was wheeled in on it. really good service here.
Avatar 9:21am Marcel M:

WFMU knows how to treat a hungover DJ!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:22am common:

wish i had a cot right now.
Avatar 9:25am Marcel M:

Man that Uludag was epic... enjoyed the latter half.
Avatar 9:26am Andy M.:

I've never heard this Moondog song. Very pretty.
  9:28am slowbear:

Avatar 9:39am Sem Chumbo:

Morning, Chris M., and all. FXO played something from Heijira this am, and now a Summer Lawns cut...coincidence?
Avatar 9:42am Chris M.:

@Sem Chumbo: we're also wearing the same color socks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43am common:

I love clay's creations
Avatar 9:44am Polyus:

How does he come up with all this stuff?
Avatar 9:45am Sem Chumbo:

Synchronicity! I have time for that.
Avatar 9:46am Marcel M:

Agreed Common!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58am Greg from Bloomfield:

Morning Chris & everybody!
What's that?
Why yes, I DID win the football pool.
  9:58am adam:

Swan, have been listening to wfmu for the past week? kind of a trail of tangerine dreams all over this thing.
Avatar 9:59am Marcel M:

Was about to say the same thing Adam. Everyone has been playing TD.
Avatar 10:00am Marcel M:

That half time show was soooo weird. Oh man...
Avatar 10:00am Andy M.:

Shout out to Screwy Bill!
  10:00am adam:

and the four horsemen by aphrodites child has been prominant too, what a song
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:01am common:

Avatar 10:01am kiemzi:

if you unfocus your eyes, the playlist cover image looks like two cute little robot guys
Avatar 10:02am Sem Chumbo:

Am I suffering from cat scratch fever, again?
Avatar 10:02am kiemzi:

is it a magic eye?
  10:05am Hel:

Hi Chris, I'm listening to wfmu radio & toiling away. The last you'll hear from me today- lucky you..but i'm lovin' the tunes!
Avatar 10:07am Chris M.:

@kiemzi the robot guys are named President Jake Funksenhower, Esq and Dancetron "Stay Hydrated Out There! Let's Have A Great Rave, Party People!" 100
Avatar 10:07am Chris M.:

thanks Hel
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08am Lewis:

I am not familiar with this element of Mr. Nugent's oeuvre...
Avatar 10:08am kiemzi:

those guys need a detective show... jake & the dancetron
Avatar 10:09am Chris M.:

@Lewis this is the b-side of Cat Scratch Fever. very few people have ever listened to it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09am DCE:

it would be great if Ted reformed himself and went into dance music
Avatar 10:09am kiemzi:

also, i can't believe me & Dancetron 100 have the same nickname!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:11am Lewis:

;-)
Avatar 10:11am Rev. Turnip Druid:

PEEPLE!
Avatar 10:12am duke:

I picture Ted Nugent dance music something like those old westerns; "Dance ya varmint" with pistols fired at some poor sucker's boots.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15am Fuzzy:

Those old military-surplus boatanchors are great old radios -- had a couple back in the day. Vacuum tubes rule!
Avatar 10:25am Andy M.:

I love when Aphex Twin messes around with acoustic instruments. Some of the best tracks on Drukqs were the pieces where he rigged a programmed laptop up to a piano (Avril 14th).
Avatar 10:26am Marcel M:

OOoOoOooooo one of my favorite Can songs...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27am Guido from Cologne:

One recognizes this Can record by first seconds the water bubbling
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27am common:

I'm with you marcel!
Avatar 10:27am bibi:

hi all.
yep i was relieved when this afx ep came out, was honestly disappointed by last year's comeback lp...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29am George of Troy:

Wow... So I guess I wasn't the only one reminded of Jaki's drumming by that AFX track? Or is the Can track just a coincidence? Hmmm...
Swag For Life Member 10:29am Faustcan:

I think every Can's record is recognisable in the first few seconds.
I smoked weed with Damo only a few years back, what a man!
Avatar 10:31am Andy M.:

@Faustcan I heard he loves to hug. Did he hug you?
Avatar 10:31am Marcel M:

My friends and I had to do some video thing in high school, and we used that Can song during the scene that I kill my wife. We only had chocolate syrup, so when that song comes on, I stab her, and then it switches to black and white so you can't tell. Man we were arty, eh?
Swag For Life Member 10:34am Faustcan:

I'm sure, he did, Andy M., he is so zen and peace...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34am Guido from Cologne:

I just know the smoking rituals of the circles around Jaki:
Nobody sharing stuff, nobody talking, everybody dead-serious.
Avatar 10:35am Andy M.:

@Faustcan Right on! :)
Avatar 10:43am Marcel M:

This Flyte Reaction is an interesting mix of an old classic rock sound with a modern sound..
Avatar 10:46am Cheri Pi:

Sweet!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:47am Greg from Bloomfield:

WHOA.
Avatar 10:48am Cheri Pi:

I need this lp.
Avatar 10:49am Chris M.:

@Cheri Pi: the stage banter is excellent but can't be aired
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51am Greg from Bloomfield:

Doesn't Tripod Jimmie work for Screwy Bill?
Avatar 10:53am Chris M.:

@Greg: i'm hoping playing one of his songs will get him in my corner vis a vis SB
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55am Greg from Bloomfield:

That's good thinking.
Avatar 10:58am BigLankyGeordie:

Howdee people from a freezing cold merrie old England.
Avatar 11:00am Andy M.:

Having Ege Bamyasi on an English muffin for breakfast.
Avatar 11:02am DanH:

Good morning Chris. Hope you're not snowed in.
Avatar 11:02am Chris M.:

@DanH and to you as well.
Avatar 11:03am DanH:

Thank you Chris.
Avatar 11:06am DanH:

@Chris, Do you think you would ever do a Melvins Pancake Breakfast Show in the future?
Avatar 11:07am PKNY:

Nice, I just order the "Ozma/Bullhead" reissue over the weekend!
Avatar 11:07am Chris M.:

@DanH: you mean like other bands playing Melvins songs? they're rarely good :(
Avatar 11:08am bibi:

i thought for a sec of art brut...
Avatar 11:08am DanH:

No, just The Melvins. The original songs.
Avatar 11:08am Chris M.:

an all melvins show sounds like a good time to me!
Avatar 11:11am GeesyCreesy:

@Chris M.: but Melvins playing other bands' songs is almost always good. Did you see that AV Undercover they did last year of "Graveyard"?
Avatar 11:11am Chris M.:

@GreesyCreesy so true and yes!
Avatar 11:12am DanH:

Maybe half the show original Melvins songs, the other half covers the Melvins perform.
  11:16am Mark:

I needed Ur Draugr after what came before...
Avatar 11:17am Chris M.:

the album cover for this ep is awesome.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:21am ChrisB.:

And yet, I continue to listen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25am Greg from Bloomfield:

Chris, this song is upsetting me. Do you have any Sammy Davis Jr?
Avatar 11:26am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Good lord.
Avatar 11:26am Rev. Turnip Druid:

mega-click.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:26am common:

crazy!
Avatar 11:26am Bob G:

You're killing me, this last set has been riveting and I'm supposed to be outta here... seeing napalm death tonight. very excited!
Avatar 11:27am Chris M.:

stay tuned for Dylan singing Sinatra coming up next!
Avatar 11:27am GeesyCreesy:

A Very Dylan/Sinatra Christmas
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:28am Ken From Hyde Park:

This Skullflower is basically wind howling through a cracked door, set to music. It's awesome.
Avatar 11:28am GeesyCreesy:

I actually thought this was Dylan singing Sinatra. I had to check the 'Now Playing'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29am Greg from Bloomfield:

This is "Summer Wind", right?
  11:29am steve portland:

lovin this version of summer wind
Avatar 11:29am bibi:

yep Creesy, eleven of us thought so.
Avatar 11:31am Cheri Pi:

This Skullflower is flowing through the jazz men in my mind.
  11:31am Susan R:

OMG I haven't heard Summer Wind in forever. thanks!
Avatar 11:31am Sem Chumbo:

I thought THIS was Dylan, doing Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered:-(
Avatar 11:33am bibi:

is it Donnie Herron playing banjo on that version ?
Avatar 11:35am Rev. Turnip Druid:

......a "wintry mix," as they say.
Avatar 11:35am DanH:

@Chris M, I think there's something wrong with your radiator.
Avatar 11:37am Andy M.:

Thank glob that's over.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am Ken From Hyde Park:

RIP last year's groundhog. Got dropped on his head or something. He was a trooper.
Avatar 11:39am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Will immediately purchase a timeshare in the middle of that Skullflower wintry mix.
Avatar 11:40am GeesyCreesy:

@Rev.: I would like to attend your free breakfast/informational meeting regarding that timeshare
Avatar 11:41am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Stale bagels and tiny single-serving boxes of generic-brand raisin-bran for everyone!
Avatar 11:41am Chris M.:

that Skullflower song is one of the most popular tracks i've ever played on my show.
Avatar 11:42am Cheri Pi:

Save his pelt! He will not be forgotten.
Avatar 11:43am Polyus:

This is not what I recall Erase Errata sounding like. Cool song.
Avatar 11:44am Rev. Turnip Druid:

...with burned coffee cut with magnesium citrate. Referred-to in the brochures as our free "incontinental breakfast."
Avatar 11:44am bibi:

@rev : ha, love the concept.
Avatar 11:45am GeesyCreesy:

@Rev.: I would like to politely decline the free breakfast but still attend the informational meeting
11:45am nice snow day in hamilton, ontario, Canada:

love you americer
  11:50am SeanG:

Mavers!
  11:50am Mark:

Oh I suppose everybody will hate this because it's a great pop song and we've actually heard it before, but it's great (the La's I mean!)
