Creepy sexy baby kitty
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm Ike:

That awesome squeaky quasi-sexy voice reminds me of something from Beck's "Midnite Vultures."

It was an awful visual of Prince's "mini me"
  3:41pm 3rdeyegirl:

Do you like some new Prince & or Funkadelic?

Wait, 2000? Wasn't that after Dead Bird Event? Maybe you just didn't want to admit you had a lady to Mr. Fowley? Because that would be totally understandable. Sorry, I'm being nosy. Back to work!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm Ike:

Clearly I *don't* have some memory on me... I could've sworn that happened in the old house. But then I mis-remember all kinds of things as happening in that house. Anyway, enough nostalgia from me.

This Futuro Antico is one of the coolest things I've heard in a long time. I feel like we should be slaughtering a goat--in the future.
  4:31pm LittleAlex:

@LittleAlex i LOVE a clockwork orange!! both the book and movie. that's why i wish there was a "like button."
Avatar 4:36pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

That Xander name is a Buffy Vampire Thingie reference? I'm clearly not up on my pop (poop) culture….
Avatar 4:38pm quinn:

Avatar 4:40pm Serpico:

yes, Philip Glass please :>
Avatar 4:41pm Sandy:

Avatar 4:42pm steve:

i just got back and dont know what youre all talking about but NO PHILIP GLASS NOOOOO
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm dale:

Avatar 4:43pm Serpico:

@Sandy why no Philip Glass? :/
Avatar 4:43pm Sandy:

Avatar 4:43pm Jeff:

Ooh, if it makes the kids that cranky, bring on the Glass!
  4:44pm Jandek:

I thought hate like that was reserved for me... or maybe Yoko.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm Scott Williams:

FIGHT! FIGHT! @dale, I got yer back...
Avatar 4:44pm Sandy:

one time I walked out of a philip glass concert because it was bad.
Avatar 4:44pm Sandy:

<3 yoko.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm Marcel M:

Hello Scott! Hello people. Loving what I'm tuning into here.
Avatar 4:45pm Sandy:

I bet that's not really Jandek.
Avatar 4:46pm steve:

i gave a coworker my 4LP Einstein on the Beach box on condition there could no longer be Philip Glass of any kind at the office
Avatar 4:46pm Chris from DC:

Happy to concentrate on this Swedish Energies thing first. Wowser.
  4:47pm Jack:

I saw Philip Glass and his small band years ago; it was the only show I was ever at where someone yelled "turn it down!!" after the first number.
Avatar 4:47pm Serpico:

but i like Philip Glass :( also like Yoko. both choices would be good, as well the band "ONO"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm Scott Williams:

As a rule, I love Yoko and really don't love P. Glass. Unfortch, I've got 2 things here in the cart that mess it all up...
Avatar 4:51pm Jeff:

I once almost walked out of a Philip Glass concert because whoever was running the sound was obviously completely deaf.

They were amplifying voices and acoustic instruments so excessively much that they were coming out completely overmodulated and distorted from the sound system. Asshole.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm Scott Williams:

any fans/defenders of "Approximately Infinite Universe" here?
  4:55pm Jandek:

It's not fair when hate for the sound engineer detracts from hate for the performer. Offstage incompetence should upstage onstage incompetence.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm Uncle Michael:

Scott, I have something from AIU lined up for Friday...funny you should ask.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:59pm Marcel M:

Do I just not know them that well or is this A LOT of guitar for Tangerine Dream?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:59pm Scott Williams:

that's great, Uncle Michael - I'd be curious to hear solid defense of that record tho. Up against "Fly" and "Plastic Ono Band", it just feels like.... betrayal!
Avatar 4:59pm Serpico:

@Scott i like Yoko's unconventional avant-garde rock. haven't really listened to AIU but would like to see how it sounds :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01pm Uncle Michael:

I'd offer no defense whatsoever. If something tickles my ear in a non-ironic way, chances are I'll play it. Something did.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01pm Marcel M:

Haha.. well put Scott.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01pm Bronwyn Bishop:

Yoko kicks ass!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:03pm Uncle Michael:

"I Couldn't Dream" is a great song!
  5:03pm Clay P.:

You are now cool!
  5:03pm Jandek:

Glass... Ono... Where's the hate for me? My catalog is both more voluminous and less listenable than Glass & Ono combined! I can caterwaul better than Ono! I can bore better than Glass!
Avatar 5:04pm Sandy:

this isn't the worst thing....
Avatar 5:04pm steve:

i only object to Einstein on the Beach, which is maddening
Avatar 5:04pm Sandy:

Jandek why don't you come to my parties anymore!??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:04pm Scott Williams:

Jandek, I'm sorry. there's no hate, just indifference
Avatar 5:04pm V Priceless:

Life Out of Balance!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:05pm Uncle Michael:

Scott has given me a crisis of confidence.
Avatar 5:06pm Bas NL:

(Do check out Philip Glass Satyagraha.. it's fantastic!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:08pm Bronwyn Bishop:

Don't worry Jandek, I appreciate your awfulness plenty, in fact I once wrote a school paper about you. The prompt was "write about an artist whose work is difficult to listen to". Kind of a weird prompt now that I think about it.
Avatar 5:09pm Serpico:

Move on Fast sounded pretty good :)
Avatar 5:11pm Sandy:

yeah this is all pretty reasonable.
Avatar 5:13pm steve:

i think your early stuff is pretty good Jandek
Avatar 5:16pm Sandy:

Maybe the guys who mix/master all the Jandek are reading the comments right now... hmm
Avatar 5:18pm Chris from DC:

Definitely enjoyed Jandek live.
Avatar 5:21pm Serpico:

killer sunday painters track
Avatar 5:26pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

  5:27pm steve:

I already have a copy and yes I want it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm Scott Williams:

haha, thanks Steve!
Avatar 5:30pm Sandy:

this was fun: www.youtube.com...
Avatar 5:35pm Chris from DC:

Wow, Band of Susans!
  5:36pm Robert:

Sorry, Jandek, NOBODY can bore better than P. Glass. What you can do is MYSTIFY better than him, making us wonder how certain DJs fell under your spell.
  5:40pm Robert:

I remember listening to a little recorded Glass & thinking, this is canned headache, and then I had a great laugh when they used it for a TV ad for Excedrin or some such, because that showed I wasn't the only person who thought so. But eventually I heard some Glass I liked.
Avatar 5:43pm Sandy:

glass is "weird" music for boring people. & vice/versa
Avatar 5:45pm Chris from DC:

Killer set.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm Scott Williams:

thanks Chris! Sandy, what you said!
Avatar 5:50pm Claw!:

This set has been *pretty* rad.
Thanks for the tunes!
