  12:08pm ashley morey:

Of course the one time I remember to tune into wfmu at my desk everyone around me thinks I'm vainly listening to The Black Hollies...

Hahaha thx for playing! Very fitting for today. Looking forward to the show!
  12:08pm KevinfromBayRidge:

As we bravely BELOCK ahead to where others have yet to go!
Avatar 12:08pm KP:

"The Bobs" are there today, Joe? I hope you're the guy getting promoted and not laid off.
Avatar 12:26pm Whooda:

Deliciousness
Avatar 12:26pm KP:

I gave up on my alt.side parking today. Hope the meter maid did the same.

  1:12pm ?:

Toddophonic = too Yelly!
  1:15pm Kev O:

It begins
  1:17pm Toddophonic:

@? It's okay Mom, you can use your real name.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm Mike East:

I think you're just the right amount of Yelly, Todd.
Avatar 1:19pm Joe B:

live remote coming soon from Yellystone park
  1:19pm Mark:

I didn't realize the Alarm were making records as late as 2006.
  1:21pm Dave Sharp:

Am I on this recording? And is Nigel Twist?!
  1:21pm Arturo:

I wish they would give up...
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:21pm Parq:

What do the rest of the Mysterians think of Todd's yelly quotient?
  1:23pm Mark:

The Muzzlers is a damn good name for a band. Especially if they were all dogs. And this guy sounds like he could be sort of a junkyard dog. Part German shepherd. But just the part that bites. If he sniffed out any drugs, he'd take them.
  1:27pm Mark:

It was only a matter of time before somebody named themselves after one of these things. Once you've had Steely Dan...
Avatar 1:37pm V Priceless:

a groovy, super guy...!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm Polyus:

Look at those sideburns, he looks like a girl!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm Sem Chumbo:

Where did I put my Joe Namath form-fitting, memorial panty hose? They are here, somewhere...
  1:38pm Woo:

Joe is still cool. Seems to have cut down on the drinking, which is good. Good doc on him out a few years ago.
Avatar 1:39pm drewo:

Loved him in C.C. and Company.
  1:40pm P-90:

Wait-- did someone say "Weeb Eubanks"?
Avatar 1:40pm V Priceless:

@ Woo - that doc was very cool
Avatar 1:41pm Joe B:

it was "weeb eubank's ..."
Avatar 1:42pm Joe B:

definitely check out mark kriegel's namath bio from a few years ago
  1:44pm Woo:

i don't even know if Joe drank too much. There was that one time he had been overserved and wanted to kiss a female reporter on TV.
  1:45pm P-90:

I see Joe around the Upper West now and then. He looks healthy, happy, and young. The bastard.
also: what the heck was the name of that "NFL Today" announcer voice guy?
Avatar 1:47pm Joe B:

john facenda
  1:49pm P-90:

Thanks! No one who grew up with that voice will ever forget it. Or the corny crap they used to write for him.
Avatar 1:51pm Joe B:

look on youtube for this - facenda narrates a journey tour documentary from circa 1983 or so. it is unbelievable hearing him describing the journey shows!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:51pm Hoboken Jack:

I was on a sports-themed media junket maybe 15 yrs ago, or more, back when companies had money. Anyway, Namath was MUCH friendlier than Dr. J.
Avatar 1:53pm Joe B:

I'm supposed to interview george gervin tomorrow so we can compare notes on who was nicer!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm Polyus:

He must have some great ABA stories.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:56pm Hoboken Jack:

Nice!! I love that the street in front of the San Antonio Convention Center is George Gervin Way.
  1:58pm P-90:

Everyone loved Dr. J, but there was always something just a teensy bit scary about him,
Avatar 2:02pm Joe B:

I should ask him if he's ever met Jerry Butler
Avatar 2:04pm Claw!:

Hey Joe! Howdy, Pardners!
A lil late to the shindig. Hope everyone had a good weekend. :)
Avatar 2:05pm drewo:

I always wanted to try the supermarket sandwich-making gimmick that opens C.C. And Company.
www.youtube.com...
Avatar 2:09pm V Priceless:

yo Claw! ! 'bout time you made an appearance! Ha!
Avatar 2:10pm Claw!:

Yeah, I had a feeling you might've missed me, V. ;)
  2:12pm Tommy:

I always thought this was solo NY as opposed to CSNY ..anyway he didn't' need them on this
  2:13pm KP:

Well I guess I need this CSNY
Avatar 2:16pm Joe B:

KP, the Roosevelt Raceway boot still might be better. maybe download the neil tunes.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:18pm Hoboken Jack:

I wonder if Gervin, Butler, and Richard Kuklinski were ever in a room together.
  2:19pm KP:

Like that thinking
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm Dominick:

I was at that Roosevelt Raceway show.
  2:20pm Woo:

Tim Drummond, Bassist for Neil Young, dead at 74
Avatar 2:20pm Joe B:

Tommy it was Neil solo (though Nash and Crosby are on the studio recording). it was his current album so he does 3 or 4 from on the beach on the 1974 tour
Avatar 2:21pm Joe B:

Dominick and KP - at least Joni Mitchell has been mixed out of this official release!
  2:22pm KP:

Do have pretty big BN card burning hole in pocket. Need something useless
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:23pm drr:

Tim Drummond also played with James Brown, correct?
Avatar 2:23pm Joe B:

then go for it! I'm surprised they actually put it out, pretty rough in some spots. worth it for R. Blues and On the Beach, nice guitar duel
Avatar 2:23pm Joe B:

yes drr, forgot that!
  2:24pm Woo:

Yes, Drummond played with James Brown and Dylan. And the 74 CSNY tour. Story in Rolling Stone now.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:30pm Jeff from Rahway:

Good 'ol Buck Owens. My favorite tune by him is "Big in Vegas." Maybe you can play it next week, Joe.
Avatar 2:32pm V Priceless:

great song title. I once heard that dogs have no concept of time...and I thought..what a great super-power! No wonder they are constantly happy creatures!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:36pm Sem Chumbo:

Now putting on mycountry hat with the deep sweat stains and the low slung brim. Ah, just right.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:37pm drr:

Um, drewo, you may find this amusing. I saw C.C. and Company on late night tv (with a million commercials). Later, I tried to write a "novelization" of it from memory.
I forgot about the sandwich at the beginning but I managed to get it in later.
www.davidrhoden.com...
Avatar 2:40pm drewo:

thanks drr!
Avatar 2:46pm V Priceless:

thee M. Shelley?
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:46pm drr:

uh....you can decide whether to thank me later.
There is an actual novelization of it, believe it or not.
The movie is pretty good! Wayne Cochrane gets some screen time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm Mike East:

did y'all catch that killer Mr Airplane Man set yesterday on Nate's show? Dynamite.
Great show today, Joe B. You might have mentioned the set, but I missed most of your talking today. The music's most important, anyway.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm Mike East:

@V Priceless, thee #1 and only!
Avatar 2:49pm V Priceless:

Cool! Thanx, Mike East!
Avatar 2:55pm V Priceless:

Rockin' show, Joe! Thank-ya!
  2:56pm ashley morey:

This has been a great way to spend a Monday afternoon! Thanks for the tunes
  4:56pm P-90:

Back in the nineties I made several DAT recordings of casinos in Atlantic City, I don't gamble much but I was fascinated by the environment(s) of the casinos.
  4:58pm P-90:

Sorry if no one but the Old Codger and I are the only ones who remember what a DAT recorder was...
