Fri. 1/2/15 9:05pm Richard from Venezuela:

Happy new year
  Fri. 1/2/15 9:05pm Martha:

Hi All - thanks for checking in and a Happy New Year to you as well!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 1/2/15 9:07pm Marcel M:

Hello Martha and all, happy new year!
Avatar Fri. 1/2/15 9:11pm TDK60:

Wonderful insistent rhythm here.
  Fri. 1/2/15 9:13pm Martha:

Yes! - we are all about the rhythm here -
  Fri. 1/2/15 9:17pm Martha:

Especially if we can make it go, say, 33% faster than it is supposed to -
  Fri. 1/2/15 9:18pm blee:

  Fri. 1/2/15 9:20pm will:

You know, it gets hard to tear oneself away from WFMU, I say this is with no bias except that every time I tune in, and then really tune in, it is so mind bendingly great.
  Fri. 1/2/15 9:21pm Martha:

Thanks for the good words! - and for tuning in occasionally -
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 1/2/15 9:21pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Solaris, apparently, are the bombdiggitydawg.
Avatar Fri. 1/2/15 9:22pm TDK60:

Solaris sound like they're in the next canyon over.
  Fri. 1/2/15 9:23pm will:

And while we're at it, is this prog rock? (Secret answers OK.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 1/2/15 9:24pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Mick Farren: 'People called it Prog [instead of just Psych still] cause they didn't want to admit they were still taking drugs'...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 1/2/15 9:26pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...which is to say - the Proggier/Trippier side of Stoner Metal perhaps?...
  Fri. 1/2/15 9:27pm Martha:

I've never heard that quote before - it's awesome - and I love Mick Farren -
Fri. 1/2/15 9:32pm Pete L in Columbus Ohio:

thanks for dispelling complete boredom!
is Solaris an old band? Awesome whatever
  Fri. 1/2/15 9:34pm will:

I'm almost scared of my DJ (and it feels so good).
Avatar Fri. 1/2/15 9:35pm TDK60:

Our DJ is not at the moment complacent.
  Fri. 1/2/15 9:42pm Martha:

Thanks all! - Solaris is old, Chicago in the 1970s -
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 1/2/15 9:44pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- ! ...
  Fri. 1/2/15 9:51pm blee:

The Solaris track really grew on me, half way through the song I felt like I NEED this album.
  Fri. 1/2/15 9:53pm Martha:

It's a great re-issue - highly recommended - mix of heavy and not so heavy tracks -
Avatar Fri. 1/2/15 9:57pm JakeGould:

This is a very Patchouli and velvet version of “Girl Like You.”
Avatar Fri. 1/2/15 10:01pm TDK60:

Jake: Or Paisley Underground-like?
  Fri. 1/2/15 10:01pm will:

Martha, where to get a Solaris CD reissue, all I find on the web are a bunch of MP3s.
  Fri. 1/2/15 10:02pm Martha:

Good call - nice description - I don't think these guys could find their way out of a phone booth w/out a guiding hand -
Avatar Fri. 1/2/15 10:09pm JakeGould:

“Or Paisley Underground-like?” Same velvet, same Patchouli…
Avatar Fri. 1/2/15 10:10pm JakeGould:

Martha, so you are saying that cover of “Girl Like You” was perhaps performed by a Florida couple “trapped” in an unlocked closet for two days? www.orlandosentinel.com...
  Fri. 1/2/15 10:11pm Martha:

That came out on Numero Group - we have it on vinyl but perhaps it is limited and may come out on CD later? - I can't seem to get through to their web site - and the usual suspects (Aquarius, etc.) don't seem to have it - no info in the record sleeve - if I find something I'll post it -
  Fri. 1/2/15 10:12pm Martha:

Hmm...I am not sure that folks with neck tattoos are capable of that kind of artistry -
Avatar Swag For Life Member 🎃 Fri. 1/2/15 10:14pm Siriusly:

definitely not nauseous
Avatar Fri. 1/2/15 10:14pm JakeGould:

Will, seems like only LP or MP3. If you want, we can see about carving a 78 for you. www.numerogroup.com...

B23 here! Oooh, an FMU show I've never listened to before. Very promising so far!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 1/2/15 10:23pm Marcel M:

This set is ill
Avatar Swag For Life Member 🎃 Fri. 1/2/15 10:27pm braveness23:

It's five in the afternoon somewhere!
  Fri. 1/2/15 10:29pm Martha:

Thanks for the good words! - and still can't get through to that site -
Avatar Fri. 1/2/15 10:34pm JakeGould:

“Here nobody sings… Nor weeps in the corner…” Cool place.
  Fri. 1/2/15 10:45pm Cooh John:

@Pete L in Columbus Ohio; glad to see other listeners from Cbus. By chance, are you to see the Detroit Cobras tomorrow?
Avatar Fri. 1/2/15 10:46pm TDK60:

Still music clubs along High St. in Col. Oh?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 🎃 Fri. 1/2/15 10:46pm braveness23:

Hey, I'm in Cincinnati OH! Ohio representing tonight!
  Fri. 1/2/15 10:57pm Cooh John:

Yes TDK90--you name reminds me of an old music format. The clubs are still there, the names keep changing. There are some new and interesting ones that have popped up not on High St. Hey braveness23, OH is the heart of it. I like to check out the Southgate House now and then.
  Fri. 1/2/15 11:00pm Bootsie:

That Edwyn Collins song is a fave of mine and I loved that groovy cover. The Black Keys did a pretty spot-on cover of it when I last saw them.
  Fri. 1/2/15 11:05pm ottovonberkshire:

wasnt sure about this song till i saw it is really from the 80s. great.
  Fri. 1/2/15 11:41pm ottovonberkshire:

love the show as usual. glad i parted early from society to catch it.
  Fri. 1/2/15 11:44pm Martha:

Hey - thanks for the good words! - and glad you enjoyed the Bats demo song - it is a really great EP and I had never heard of them before - most of it is more up than that - hey, do you live in the Berkshires?
  Fri. 1/2/15 11:48pm otto:

not exactly. spend a lot of time here though. gonna be listening to trucks on i90 when the show is over.
  Fri. 1/2/15 11:54pm Martha:

It's a nice area - you have good wildlife up there!
Swag For Life Member Fri. 1/2/15 11:55pm oogoo:

wacky deeply truly... I love you Martha
  Fri. 1/2/15 11:57pm Martha:

Thanks! - same back to you and all the listeners - hope you have a great New Year - and a peaceful one as well -
  Fri. 1/2/15 11:59pm otto:

i saw an owl once. also a beaver.
