Good morning Jon!

Howdy gang!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07am -andrew-:

I heard Joe Frank and thought Irwin had taken over the show briefly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07am Ike:

Hi! I *said* I was going to bed at a reasonable time tonight, but never did. And then I had a compulsion to make granola at 3 a.m.
Avatar 3:07am Jherweg:

Hey Kafuka.......!!! Hey Kim HEY SEAN HEY Andrew THANKS FOR LISTENING EVERYONE!!!! Hows everyone doing tonight this morning??
Avatar 3:08am Jherweg:

It was that spirited debate on Berger's facebook wall that kept you awake IKE??
Avatar 3:09am Jherweg:

I love this track, it makes me want to do that 80's molly ringwald new wave rock dance
Avatar 3:10am coelacanth:

olá Jonathan; peoples.
  3:14am Kafuka:

I'm taking breakfast, i stay bad becouse i stop smoking....
Avatar 3:15am Jherweg:

Oh well quitting smoking is for the best, that much more money for buying records,,,,just don't gain 30 pounds like I did.
  3:17am P-90:

Yo Jherweg muh man. Also good soundage wihen you're on the job. Glad to hear you fought the battle with tobacco and won. You'll be glad you did.
Avatar 3:18am Jherweg:

SLeep through the withdrawls. that's what I did....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19am -andrew-:

I quit 15 years ago during the winter months and for some reason, walking outside when it was super cold helped curb my cravings. I still don't understand how that worked, but I never went back. I think I mostly smoked out of boredom than anything else.
Avatar 3:21am D in Miami:

Hey Jonathon and all!
Avatar 3:21am Jherweg:

Yo D!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25am Fuzzy:

Humbug, brother! Preach it!
  3:26am P-90:

Bullseye. In a few sentences, you just summed up everything that's depressing about Christmas as well as anyone has in years. Yuck.
Avatar 3:26am D in Miami:

I don't do xmas unless I'm invited to someone's party. Gifts?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27am SeanG:

all you need is love and sex
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28am Ĩ k є:

Yeah I mostly agree about the Xmas season, esp. the fucking consumerism. Except that I like the lights. The lights appeal to some semi-autistic fragment of a corner of a sliver of my brain.
Avatar 3:29am Bazinge:

Black Friday and Cyber Monday. These are the ugliest things I've seen this Christmas. Good tuneage by the way.
Avatar 3:30am D in Miami:

I'm waiting for Tunes Tuesday.
Avatar 3:32am Jherweg:

Fuck the lights, in a world of dwindling resources let's not piss it away on twinkly shiny lights. You want pretty, look at the natural world, you know what's good about nature? It's not at all derivative. Ok Ike you can have the lights. But come on....you see my point.
  3:37am Kafuka:

I wanna smoke the Christmas tree
Avatar 3:38am Simon P:

Went to the shop and the consumers had consumed everything - good morning Jon and pop-pickers
Avatar 3:39am D in Miami:

A few lights aren't bad, it's those nuts who spend weeks doing the whole house, and then sync-ing it to something like a Miley Cyrus song. Total waste of electrical resources and ears!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40am Ike:

Ugh. You make a good point, but you have also depressed the ever-living shit out of me. :( But hey I don't put lights up. Electric bill already too high. I just enjoy everybody else's lights. How are we going to stop them anyway? We can't! Yay! Oh no, THOSE WASTEFUL FUCKERS! (sob)
Avatar 3:41am Jherweg:

This is my lonely synth space punk show. Or something.
Avatar 3:41am Simon P:

I have the lurgy so I'm all wrapped up and no lights.......yet
Avatar 3:41am D in Miami:

And then some ass uploads it to YouBoob so everyone can see. My parents get off on that shit!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42am SeanG:

unholy busyness devours the Night's heavenward approach. Novalis wrote that.
Avatar 3:43am Simon P:

Does that 'lonely synth space' have just a few little lights?
Avatar 3:44am Jherweg:

there is a little light inside my crazy glue heart, it's the only thing that keeps me going.
Avatar 3:48am Simon P:

I still have the first Slaughter '7' inch somewhere
Avatar 3:52am Jherweg:

Love that band,
  3:53am P-90:

I like the lights too. It's my infantile male fascination with anything glowy or shiney, combined with emotional associations with the excitement and good vibes of Christmas experienced as a child. But for years now I've noticed that I can't walk around the city, or go into stores this time of year, without seeing these expressions of grim-faced drudgery on most people's faces. They're suffering through the obligations of gift shopping lists, family get-togethers, etc., instead of being open to the mood of communal warm reflection and light-hearted festivity that used to be more possible at this time of year.
Avatar 3:57am Simon P:

Solstice today - the real festival before the christians usurped it with their gold, frankincense and myrrh
  4:00am P-90:

S.A.D. seasonal affect disorder
"Brazil" at the post office: Ha!
Avatar 4:03am Simon P:

Congrats New York on that fracking ban!!
  4:03am Max:

I like the mayor of NY. He seems like a good one the more I hear about him.

UK are passing law which allows them to frack under peoples houses without even consulting them
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07am SeanG:

Avatar 4:08am Simon P:

Don't forget your waking people up from the other side of sleep, Jon. Maybe your second set!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09am -andrew-:

I'm currently at work, so if I fall asleep I'm in big trouble.
Avatar 4:11am Jherweg:

Well I'm glad I'm helping you through your shift,. 3rd shift sucks, I used to do that too. it's brutal.....
Avatar 4:13am Simon P:

you sniffin new territory, Jon, now Storck's in his new mainstream slot?
Avatar 4:16am Jherweg:

I'm stuck here, miss having my show back to back with Storck for sure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18am SeanG:

gotta make way for the homo superior--oh you pretty things
Avatar 4:19am Simon P:

it's a christmas cracker of a show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19am -andrew-:

Ugh, yeah it sucks. But somehow it's better than working 2nd shift. I actually see my family more now than I did on 2nd. I just sleep during the day while my wife is at work and my kid's at school. I'm tired a lot, but naps are good. And caffeine (speaking of the high-fructose garbage).
Avatar 4:20am Jherweg:

I'm here for you Andrew :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20am -andrew-:

And yes, your show is helping immensely. WFMU in general helps a lot on this God-awful schedule.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21am Ike:

@JH@4:16, that's Storck not Stork. Two diff. FMU DJs. Storck is the great young one who moved to Fri.; Stork was a somewhat neurotic FMU legend in the 90s. He moved to Germany.
Avatar 4:23am Jherweg:

Fixed, so there is no confusion.
Avatar 4:23am Simon P:

just checkin my spelling
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24am Ike:

Wow! An edit! Edited your own comment -- I've seen other DJs do that, so why is that blowing my freaking mind!?! Wow. Hmm. Clearly I should go to sleep.
Avatar 4:26am Jherweg:

Yean sometimes I edit people right out of the conversation.
Avatar 4:29am Simon P:

the Hand of Jon
Avatar 4:29am ollie_binauraldiaries:

Good morning/evening Jonathan!
Avatar 4:32am Jherweg:

Hey Ollie!
  4:40am Max:

Great show. Super Enjoy!!
Avatar 4:41am Jherweg:

Thanks Max!
Avatar 5:03am Sem Chumbo:

Good morning, Jherweg. Listening.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:04am -andrew-:

Still here, but was just super into that last set.
  5:15am P-90:

Hi Sem! Still tuned in, Jherweg.
Avatar 5:19am Sem Chumbo:

Morning, P-90. All is well where you are, I trust.
  5:19am Kafuka:

I think i should buy the modern art lp (second press, the first is too expensive)
Avatar 5:20am Jherweg:

Yeah I bet the re issue is higher fidelity too.
Avatar 5:22am Simon P:

Jon - do you have that cassette site link re Zimbo?
  5:22am P-90:

We had two cops shot in the Bronx by a maniac as they sat in their car yesterday, a bummer. Otherwise: A-OK, the usual Christmas week madness. And by you (or Bayou, as Frankie O'Toole says)?
Avatar 5:23am Jherweg:

I can send it to you on face book later Simon...
Avatar 5:23am Simon P:

Avatar 5:23am Jherweg:

i think they were shot in Bed Stuy, not the Bronx.
Avatar 5:31am Sem Chumbo:

@P-90: just winding up some work for the little distillery I help out at. Heard about the policemen, seems the Mayor has pissed the Force off big time over the #Ican'tbreathe event. Otherwise, watching the tide take away the back yard, and doing some baking:-)
Avatar 5:35am Simon P:

The Young Generation - all punk guitarists started with this riff..well at least me anyway
Avatar 5:37am Jherweg:

there are going to be cops all over Brooklyn, the bees nest has been stirred.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37am Fuzzy:

No "Smoke On The Water?"
Avatar 5:38am Jherweg:

Sorry Fuzzy, Not this show.
Avatar 5:44am Sem Chumbo:

And look at his son, Nick. A disgrace. Can't even keep a beat.
Avatar 5:47am Simon P:

another special show, thanks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52am -andrew-:

Excellent show tonight Jonathan. Have a great week everybody!
Avatar 5:53am Jherweg:

Thanks for tuning in everyone!!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:02am Ken From Hyde Park:

Have a nice week, Jonathan!
