Can't 'bring back' something I never took away, Jack. Kenny took himself off the schedule and he's too busy to commit to a weekly show these days. I will put that archive back up later this week. I needed a clitorectomy cooling-off period.
By pure coincidence last Wednesday I contracted an ear infection that, unfortunately, prevented me to listen to Kenny G's show. But then the problem went away as soon as the show ended. What a bummer.
If there's a Wal-Mart in Ferguson, I would guess that is it, Fofo. I'm sure the Walton family has their own private military to protect their assets in the case of riots. That's the jokey part. The true part is that after 9/11, the Waltons had a gigantic fallout-proof bunker built for themselves. They're approaching Howard Hughes levels of paranoid.
Hi Mugsy! Thanks for checking in. Marcel, they actually get larger checks than those issued by ASCAP, BMI or Sesac, or so I am told by artists who have received RIAA/Soundexchange checks.
I really loved Kenny G's show but missed the beginning. I don't see what the fuss is about, there's always borderline offensive stuff on this station, that's kind of the point of being free and independent. I've been offended too, but I keep coming back. Kenny G is an over-the-top character who wants to mess with his audience, which is why it's so hilarious, so why take his rants seriously? Like it matters in the real world what Kenny G has to say about anything.
@pocket vito: follow kenny on Facebook. There are many for whom what Kenny says matters. But Ken, Kenny is a mischievous boy who should not be left at home without supervision. Or at least make sure that the guns, matches and alcohol are locked up.
I would have enjoyed the Kenny G set if my mood wasn't so sour last week. Still had some fun listening to it. He certainly doesn't play his character as hard as Colbert does.
My sister does faux-Thanksgiving in February.
My husband wants to do not only that, but tape the parade and dog show for later viewing. I am behind that.
it also should be pretty user-customizable, and very fun, but ultimately even more pointless that most games.
Yeah, I can't program, but I know what I likes!

Dan B From Upstate,
I think building family bunkers is something that comes with the territory of being a multi-billionaire. I mean, the chances of a working class revolution happening soon is quite high, at least higher than a Russian nuclear attack or a comet landing on our planet.
I would start with the great indie game designer Zach Gage. He is in Brooklyn, is proudly indie even though he designed the super popular Drop 7 and Ridiculous Fishing, and helps other developers out. He is thanked all over indie game credits.

I also thought the army outside Wal*mart was there to prevent civil unrest during the BLack Friday.
WFMU game: Start with a base of sim listeners and build a playlist of hippy noise that alienates as many as possible. High score if no sim is listening at the end.
Game idea: Board Op Simulator. It'll go great on Steam (online game store) with other such greats as Farming Simulator, Train Simulator, Grass Simulator, Goat Simulator, and Tabletop Simulator (Every single one of those is a real video game).

Lio and Marie from The Limiñanas are from the city of Perpignan, France.
WFMU game: To clear a level, you have to have all your sims turn off their radio. Level 1 is super easy, because it is all Soccer Moms and old people. But trying to get the weird burned-out shut-in dude to turn off his radio on level 8 is a real challenge.
I love goat simulator. I haven't tried the online version yet.

WFMU video game idea:
Genre: First-person shooter
Concept: A lonely hippie, aka wfmu lover, tormented by friends and society by his/her eccentric musical tastes, lost it one day and goes on shooting rampage.
I have it on my iPod. Of course.
I must have 80-100 games. I will try just about anything except hardcore boring medieval world building MMO games. Or the first person shooters. Unless it's Annoying Orange. That's funny.
Or we could make it like one of those "classy" European games where a child, or a square or a pretzel visits a dark wonderland to learn the meaning of love or honor or some crap like that.
gotta keep it simple, colorful, fun.. why not a creature trying to catch falling LPs and as it levels up it gets badges/funny wfmu related.. and in the end the creature gets into a train and its a trainwreck and then you win.. play again?! yeah this game is amazing
something to do with ordering in... ketchup and taco sauce all over the place... drink the melted ice from old fountain sodas to rejuvenate, but you have to get to it before it rots out the bottom of the cup

How about a game where you're the station manager and you have to put together a new schedule that has 70 slots, and you have 100 DJs to pick from. The goal: make everyone happy and minimize the complaints.
stockpiles of napkins and plastic spork packages equal points... extra points for getting your roommate to answer the door when your food arrives... win the game by getting him to pay...
All kidding aside, it should be a Freemium game, so that children with their parent's phone can consistently raise money buying useless in-game coins. (The funds go directly to WFMU)
you're on the right track Dan B. Object of game is to build a giant robot powerful enough to destroy all other radio stations. But you have to keep upgrading, adding weapons, etc. which you can buy.
Just got here. Is that a blue light on the armoured vehicle, as in "Attention, Walmart Shoppers, Blue Light Special in Parking Area F?" Hiya, Ken. Totally get where you're at w/ the Kenny G fill-in show. Cooling off period: nice turn of phrase.
the problem with trivia is it'll feel very exclusive.. shutting people off to who aren't music trivia obsessed... and I could imagine the trivia to be so obscure and/or pretentious
Hey, speaking of pretzels (I won't get to say that again today), I like the clunky lighted pretzel that goes atop the big public Xmas tree in Reading, PA. That's also where this year's tree was so scraggle-ass ugly that complaints and wider attention almost got it yanked, but the hubbub has turned and now they're gonna celebrate it as a Charlie Brown tree.
WFMU game: At the record fair, you have to get from one end to the other as quickly as possible. Every time you make eye contact with a lonely hippy, it costs time. If you stare down, you may bump into a lonely hippy, which costs even more time.
Protip: To cross to the other side in no time make sure you have in your hands the new Miley Cyrus "Bangerz - Picture Disc" vinyl and you will see every body will move out of your way.
I've been trying to come up with a suitable WFMU 1st person shooter style game for a long time. The schedule would be rendered as a 3d-dystopia, with each area triggering streams out of the archives. Lots of picture-of-the-day style graphics and Terry Gilliam-like cutout sprite animation.
Meanwhile, you'll have to make due with the Andymatic Zingatron.

Erin go brew. A round of Guinness for e'rone . F#% work.
A WFMU simulation game should primarily be about staying on the air, technically, financially, & legally. I don't know that there's a suitable way to simulate those. Any of those factors could be analogized to target shooting, object dodging, etc., but it wouldn't carry the flavor.
If it's a WFMU game, maybe it should be about planning and executing a successful fundraising marathon. The problem is integrating the freemium into that idea. Maybe you convince your players to pay for rewards to enable faster fund-raising? Kind of like paying to immediately build buildings in simpsons tapped out...
i dunno where the bagpipes = Scottish thing comes from. Just about every little region of Europe has/had a piping tradition, all the way east to at least Turkey.
Anyone else buy a black woof moo hoodie this week? I cant wait to see what it looks like on. is there a wfmu design on the back too or just on the front? (it didn't show the back in the pic)

Robert:
I suppose you could game the dump button, the game feeding a continuous audio recording with curses and words that sound like curses but aren't.
thanks Cecile. I doubt it'll get me any attention, I've been wearing the white woof moo t shirt for a year now and no-one's said anything about it. Not having heard of wfmu I imagine they just think I'm a hipster who likes text speak (or txt spk, obv.)
No, Dump Button would be like Rock Band. The player gets a free starter pack of obscenity laden songs and DJ banter, but they have to pay for new content.
I am proud to say I was the first person to publicly recognize Robert's Dump Dump Button game idea. I still remember the moment when I first heard about it. It still feels like it happened yesterday.
I love you Ken, you and what you do for the radio.
I had the extreme pleasure of meeting Brian over here in Paris,
and I realize that I don't say that enough, I love WFMU.
Just reading (again) the LCD book, you guys are family, religion, friends.
The details may be wrong, but the story goes that Hitch's dad had a policeman "arrest" a very young Hitchcock for some small thing (breaking a plate or something) and put him in jail for a short time. He had a lifelong fear of the police since that event.
I had four dessert items at Thanksgiving. The next day I heard a doc on the radio talking to Alec Baldwin about the science of leptin, insulin, and the scourge of sugar. The next day I had four dessert items at a party. Now I can't face Alec.
The beginning of the Phigg-Newtons track put me in mind of Lonnie Holley, and I learned Holley did something with Mammane Sani Abdullaye of Niger called On My Way to Christmas...if you need something 8 minutes long some coming Wednesday in this season of joy.
I'm looking forward to tonight! we finally discover Sleaford Mods are just Ken and Andy characters. Andy just standing there in the background dancing to his laptop while Ken does an accent.
Believe nothing? Hah! I believe virtually everything I read, and I think that is what makes me more of a selective human than someone who doesn't believe anything.

The "Foetus kid", was a German guy that lived 83 years, and always stayed in that little size. He is one of the leading characters of ultra amazing Tod Brownin's movie Freaks from 1932.
Ken,
When you see Jeff Krulik tomorrow tell him I said hello. He was one of the first people I got to know at the Univ of Maryland -- he was PD of WMUC fm his last year there. Jeff Is one of the best people in the world.
Thank you very mucho, Master Ken. It was a great Wednesday evening the one you delivered. See you all, till next episode!!! And if you play that melody again, Baby Animal, I'll have to kill you!! Do you understand?!!

the WFMU game has to be Ken riding his bike to the station in/after the storm! and also trying to save his stuff from the flooded basement.
