Greetings, Ira, thanks for stepping in.
Perry Lipkin:

Treat the eighth rest like a breath mark. Ok now. Upper left.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm

Hey! seeing your Friday night at 930. Hope you come out and play with Kurt, hope Kurt comes on and plays with you all.
Avatar 3:07pm

Nice, nice...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm

Boss version of Cissy.
Avatar 3:12pm

hola, ira. gettin' my enjoys here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi, Monica. Surely, you must be in-line for another fill-in soon. 'Cause that would be great.
Avatar 3:23pm

Monica! Come back to us!!!
Avatar 3:24pm

thx, ken & claw. hope so. but this right here's a rare treat!
Avatar 3:25pm

You may want to consult your attorney before you sock it to the judge.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm

Fleep, I thought maybe he wants her to sock it to a '67 GTO. Howya, Miss Monica.
Sissophonic Cheryl:

Ira the K, gettin' me through my workday!
Avatar 3:31pm

Wow, what a great first set!
Avatar 3:33pm

Is that a joke about Scott Williams? What's going on with him?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm

Civic Duty Williams is hopefully listening to this wonderful show as he awaits a court decision of some kind. Thanks for filling in Ira! Loving the show!
Avatar 3:34pm
Marshall Stacks:

I thought Scott said he had jury duty. If not... good luck, Scott!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm

And... looking forward to a Monica fill in at some point, too. :-)
Avatar 3:35pm
Cheri Pi:

Excellent choice!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm

There's no need to be circumspect about it, Ira. We know S.W. is a natural outlaw. I imagine that an attempt to "improve" Jersey City's sourdough bread supply with a dose of psilo-caninium-slobberanium ended in disaster.

Ike, was there some bread discussion? And hello Ira the K.
Avatar 3:44pm

scott's depraved on account of he's deprived. and dna don't lie! hey there, parq, chris.
Avatar 3:45pm
Cheri Pi:

Heya Monica! Poor Ess Dub :(
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm
Sem Chumbo:

Hiya, Ira. Been lurking. listening, and liking a lot! Hello, all. Hey, Ms. M., what's the odds?
Avatar 3:46pm

Yeeeah, Nots! Was talking about these cats earlier.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm
Greg from Bloomfield:

Afternoon, Ira & gang!
Avatar 3:49pm

Let's just say Law & Order is already casting for the role of a charismatic bearded DJ at a fringy radio station. hey ho, cheri y sem.

Aislers Set! Great. This song takes me back to SF in 2003 right after a traumatic breakup. The album its entirety helped me, I seem to remember.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm

Really enjoying the show Ira, especially that Stalk-Forrest Group track! Somehow I missed that prequel up until now.

Ahhh, SCTV…

Rich in Washington:

This is fantastic! I had forgotten about this...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm
Sem Chumbo:

hahaha. First Crowbar and now this. A Canuck Yuk fest.

And here it is thanks to… The Interwebs. www.youtube.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm

Good impression, even if he drifts into Woody Allen every now and then. Looking forward to hearing who plays Tiger Lilly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01pm

How disappointing. Maybe it would have been Joan Rivers.
Avatar 4:04pm
Joe B:

70? Did I hear that right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Canada held their 102nd Grey Cup last night. It was the Calgary Stampeders vs. the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. I'm sure Bronwyn & Jim will have more info after this show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm
Gaylord Fields:

I have a day off work today, and I'm enjoying this show so much that I'm watching Adam-12 on mute! This Montgomery Express song makes an unsurprisingly good soundtrack for the exploits of Malloy and Reed.

“Calgary Stampeders vs. the Hamilton Tiger-Cats” Grey Cup? What is that? A lead up to “The Extremely Modest Bowl?”

Eric Bloom is 70. That's crazy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm
Gaylord Fields:

The same thing goes for Messiaen and ads for life insurance for seniors. Ira, are you programming this as a Me-TV simulcast?
dennis diken:

Messiaen rules!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm

"WFMU, *the* Me-TV simulcast station."
Avatar 4:20pm

Synchronicity every day.
Avatar 4:20pm
Joe B:

Ha! yes Chris! better than the Wizard of Oz with Pink Floyd!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23pm
Sem Chumbo:

@JakeGould: The Grey Cup is a marathon reading of the work of Spalding Grey, interspered with quarters of touch football, with a twist. As in hockey---in which the puck is always frozen solid before play, the Ti-Cats and Stamps play with a football chilled to -41--- F or C, at that temperature, there is no difference.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23pm

Awesome show this morning, Joe! My goddamn job prevented me from commenting as it was happening; will need to go back to catch The Blind Shake, too...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23pm
Scott Williams:

The courthouse blocked wfmu.org - barbarians!! I'm set free (for now), happy to be listening. Thanks Ira!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm

I'm not sure I could be impartial in a courthouse that blocks WFMU.
Avatar 4:37pm

@Scott: the phrase that pays (for me anyway) is, "He just LOOKS guilty!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38pm
Bas NL:

Can one transmit OUT of a courthouse?

i think we are listening more than one channel... hum! interesting... ;-)
Avatar 4:39pm
Joe B:

The problem in JC is when people wriggle out of jury duty, the judge says, OK you are dismissed from here but can report next door to the civil suit grand jury for the next 6 weeks! Oh, and thanks Chris
Avatar 4:39pm

And where are my manners? Hello Ira, Monica, Gaylord, Joe B., and all the other lurking DJs and listeners.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:42pm
Greg from Bloomfield:

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: DEMOCRACY SIMPLY DOESN'T WORK!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm
Scott Williams:

@Greg, but it does make great daytime teevee!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:45pm
Gaylord Fields:

@Greg from Bloomfield: How does the quote go? Something like "Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:45pm

hey ira. hello everyone
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:47pm
Greg from Bloomfield:

@Scott: And in the case of Night Court, great prime time TV!
@Gaylord: I believe that's it (I was just quoting the great Kent Brockman...)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51pm
Guido from Cologne:

Love the Jack Nitzsche produced original of "Not for Me"
Avatar 4:51pm

Aw, this is awesome! You're on fire, Ira!
Avatar 4:53pm
Joe B:

Miriam's LP is great, as is her incredible live show!
Avatar 4:55pm

I'm not really familiar with her stuff... I'll have to look into it some more.
Looking forward to Quitty and the Don'ts next week! I'll be sure to shut the hell up...

great go betweens tune
Avatar 4:57pm
Joe B:

you don't have to. that is just the most common and tired complaint about WFMU. It should have its own documentary!
Avatar 4:58pm

I know, I know. I done goof'd. I hope we can still be radio pals.
Avatar 4:59pm
adrian in mpls:

hi everyone! meetings over, ready to enjoy the last hour! hi everyone!
Avatar 5:01pm
Joe B:

Is this the L.A. Valiants on Specialty?
Avatar 5:01pm

Welcome back to the madness, Adrian.

Maybe Harry is like Ed Norton and always has to warm up with the same tune!
Avatar 5:02pm
adrian in mpls:

from one sort of madness to another....i prefer this madness much more
Avatar 5:04pm

Hey Joe, I would say yes, since the Valiants track appears on Soul City Los Angeles: West Coast Gems from the Dawn of Soul Music.

Avatar 5:28pm

@Greg =- I hate it when that happens!
Avatar 5:44pm

Mine switched as well to GTDS a few minutes ago, Greg.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:48pm

I got this Caribou tune last month on a free MOJO CD, Kate Bush tribute called The Dreamers. Nice!

Evening. Was that the Nots that *was* just Live on Nate the K (Ira's sib - ??) - ??
...Defense Attorneys for innocent people hope sane people *will* take jury duty...who knows how much of the Truth they'll tell you though? Highly dubious. A lynch mob is a Democracy - it's true. Democracy is no guarantee on its' own. Even w/out a guarantee, however, prices have recently fallen...When I was a total Newbie to Comments - it was around Xmas & I was drinkin' wine (spodee-oh) - & commenting about *completely* different streams altogether a leetle bit - so worse has happened...Why am I not subscribed to Mojo again - ??...

This was loads of fun. Thanks, Ira. Congrats on your upcoming occasion.
