Oi Scott!
Bummed I missed this, but I couldn't go another fall without visiting the Pumpkin Blaze in Sleepy Hollow...
Avatar 3:06pm Yair Yona:

Hey Scott and everyone
what a wonderful show starter.
Yonatan is a great musician (and cool a guy in general), I know him from way back in the tiny Tel Aviv scene
Avatar 3:07pm Faye:

oh my goodness thank you for airing this
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm Scott Williams:

Hey Greg & Yair, happy to see you both here. Yeah, Yonatan is pretty amazing, cool that you know him Yair
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm Scott Williams:

Hi Faye! oh man.... how could I not? what a night, thanks for putting it together

This is a good set!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm chris:

Hi everyone! I really got a kick out of the brief video of these guys from last night. Thanks for playing more of them. Can't get enough.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm Scott Williams:

Hi Chris - there's a longer excerpt here: www.facebook.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm chris:

Thanks, Scott!

  3:36pm Jon:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm DCE:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm DCE:

I am grooooving.
  3:40pm Gsus:

Excellent show Scott!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm Scott Williams:

thanks Gsus! Excellent chord (2 or 4?)
  3:42pm Gsus:

hehe, prefer the 2
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm Scott Williams:

same here
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm common:

hello peoples.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm Guido from Cologne:

Hello everyone!
This (and the last) track really rounds everything up!
Really nice set Scott!
Avatar 3:50pm Faye:

hay Yair! not yet but sometime
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm Ike:

Hi Scott, sounds great! Glad to see you are staying put on the new schedule. Lots of traumatic changes this time! Of course there are many happy returns too, such as Inflatable Squirrel Carcass and Long Rally. (Hi @Faye, we loves ya too... but don't worry, I'm not going to get all weepy and hysterical on you, heh.) ;)
  3:53pm Just a listener:

is the silent fundraiser still going on?
Avatar 3:55pm Rick Heinegeber:

Hi Scott! Great show today
Avatar 3:57pm Cecile:

we're riding on a groove line...oh, never mind.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Ĩkє:

...not to make light of the situation... to be clear, Faye's show will be missed hugely, plus Keili's & Meghan's & Julie's. But I shall refrain from rending garments, etc. (Need more XY represnttn. on this sched IMHO... but c'est la free-form.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Scott Williams:

thanks Ike & Rick! @just a listener: officially over, but we fell short this time, so you may certainly consider making a pledge! there is a pledge widget on many pages of our site, including this one
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Ike:

Oops that's XX not XY. Sorry. Me shut up now.
Avatar 3:59pm steve:

im excited to see Rolling Motion getting a weekly slot. i still can't wrap my head around Joel's italo disco / house collection.
  3:59pm Just a listener:

ok thank you u will
Avatar 3:59pm Rick Heinegeber:

Ike I thought Meghan was coming back in a non theme show!?
  3:59pm Just a listener:

I will i meant :)
Avatar 4:00pm Cecile:

I am still waiting for a 3-hour Lamin show, and the return of Billy Jam to a long format.
Avatar 4:01pm Cecile:

"let us make love like I am a squirrel, and you are the last chunk of peanut brittle on earth."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm Guido from Cologne:

Keili's show really is one of the most distinctive! I cannot help repeating that.
Avatar 4:02pm Cecile:

I am happy to see Stashu back on a party night.
Avatar 4:03pm northguineahills:

I like Cecile's ideas, she should help design the schedule.
Avatar 4:03pm Cecile:

"but alas, I have a nut allergy"
Avatar 4:04pm steve:

i do not envy Station Mgr Ken. doing the schedule and deciding who stays and goes must be damn stressful.

Cecile - check out Ning Nong - more abrasive but comparable new techno meets avant garde kinda vibe.
Avatar 4:04pm Cecile:

You're speaking my language, Steve. I'll have to tune in.
Avatar 4:04pm steve:

agree re Lamin tho...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06pm eki:

@Cecile agreed v. strongly re: Lamin. Outstanding DJ. Not sure Billy Jam lives around here now (?) -- 3-hr. shows need a certain % of in-person presence, I think (?) (could be wrong).
Avatar 4:06pm Rick Heinegeber:

So many curve balls today.
Avatar 4:06pm Cecile:

eki, you're probably right, for the last few years he's been bouncing between coasts.
  4:07pm Just a listener:

does tunes in hoboken still exist or did it die forever ago
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09pm Scott Williams:

Tunes is still there
Avatar 4:10pm Cecile:

the spirit of Todd is strong in this one.
  4:11pm Just a listener:

thats nice, seems like everything closes and changes so fast these days
Avatar 4:11pm Cecile:

they're not 'murican, are they?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12pm Michele:

Hey guys what's up?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm Guido from Cologne:

Ning Nong is good.
having Jeff Conklin on a regular basis is good.
Todd fits just perfect in his new saturday slot (if not "much too perfect" as Ike put it last Saturday). Departure of Keili really is leaving a void IMHO (dunno if the demanding Saturday slot broke the show's neck somehow). Decline of female-DJ-percentage as a whole could become an image problem for WFMU.
  4:13pm Yair yona:

Oooh Zingale, what a classic
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm DCE:

love this guitar playin'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm Scott Williams:

Hey Michele! Cecile, Zingale ain't 'Murcans, they Israelis, 1977
Avatar 4:15pm Cecile:

I called it. Thank you very much.
  4:15pm Just a listener:

Hi Michele, your show is funny.
Avatar 4:15pm Cecile:

this is a lovely piece of prog that even I can get behind.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm Scott Williams:

btw, Yair I'm sure you're responsible for hooking me up with that one!
Avatar 4:17pm Cecile:

good job, Yair!
Avatar 4:18pm Yair Yona:

@Scott - makes sense :) it's considered to be the only 'real' prog album to come from Israel. It has a very interesting story, as it was written and recorded after the trauma the entire nation had in the 1973 war. There's a track called Heroica that suppose to emulate the feeling that a human being get when an aircraft is flying low above his head. This was the writer's experience at the time. very cool album and a strange Rickenbacker bass sound.
Avatar 4:19pm Cecile:

wow, I'll have to look that one up.
Avatar 4:21pm northguineahills:

Hmmm, I faved Zingale before I saw Cecile's or Yair's comment.
  4:22pm Just a listener:

loving the dub jazz tribal vibes
Avatar 4:22pm Yair Yona:

'Zingale' is a 70's slang for a joint, in Hebrew. The album was lost for years and years but was reissued in the 90s again
Avatar 4:23pm Rick Heinegeber:

Now this is more my kinda groove
  4:23pm r i s k y:

Ooof! Ugliest album art on that Zingale... Yikes!
  4:24pm Just a listener:

this music makes me feel like a natural wooman ~toms of maine type yo
Avatar 4:24pm northguineahills:

Cool, thanks Yair.
Avatar 4:30pm Cecile:

oh, gotta catch reigning sound on archive.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm Greg from Bloomfield:

@Cecile: HELL yeah.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm Scott Williams:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Avatar 4:42pm steve:

  4:42pm paula pc:

this was needed right now, really badly. thank you, Scott.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm Scott Williams:

Hi Paula!
  4:45pm Just a listener:

theres so much music i havent heard, king gizzard and the lizard wizard being one band
Avatar 4:46pm Rick Heinegeber:

This is from 2014 but sounds like T-Rex. Great stuff.
Avatar 4:47pm Yair Yona:

I was sure it was T. Rex
  4:51pm r i s k y:

So Heady
Avatar 4:51pm Rick Heinegeber:

I keep telling my kids, music goes in cycles. There will always be good music somewhere, even if it's under a rock.
  4:54pm Just a listener:

thats true rick
Avatar 4:58pm Cecile:

play th' Associates...
  4:59pm r i s k y:

Heading home! Loving this 'In The City' track.. Owww!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:00pm Scott Williams:

See ya Risky!
  5:01pm Just a listener:

ooh martial canterel
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:02pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Jah bless, Rick. Nothing boils my blood faster than people who say "There's no good music out there" or "There hasn't been anything good since 19-so-and-so."
Avatar 5:04pm Cecile:

they're more honest if they say "I lost interest in music in ...."
  5:09pm Just a listener:

i look forward to llstening to this station inside on snowy days this winter. keep me good company
Avatar 5:13pm Offaldrome:

Wow...this sure is going on for a while. Is this gonna be the last song of the show?
Avatar 5:23pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@Greg&Cecile: I think it's also that the Music Market has become Top Down like everything else : owned by very few people who are Businessmen & Lawyers - & don't know a scintilla about Music, it's Audience or the Technology that people use for it.
Avatar 5:29pm steve:

wow, this is right on the money!
Avatar 5:32pm steve:

wow, this is right on the money!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:33pm Marcel M:

Hey Scott! Whats up people?
  5:34pm JakeGould:

“What do you get when you cross a dragonfly wing with a firework?” A firefly dragonwork?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:36pm Scott Williams:

Yo Marcel!
  5:37pm Just a listener:

this dream police song is really good
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:38pm efd:

Every time I've heard a Dream Police song on the station I've done a double-take and looked to see what it was. Safe to say I'll be playing them myself soon!
  5:39pm Just a listener:

efd any suggestions album wise?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm Guido from Cologne:

... pretty NEU!ish so to say ...
Physical drums or drum machine?
Avatar 5:41pm TDK60:

Just tuned in, thought it was Neu! or Harmonia.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41pm efd:

I believe they've only got the one so far, JAL.
Avatar 5:43pm TDK60:

If I only had a heart.
  5:43pm Just a listener:

ok found it thanks efd
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm Guido from Cologne:

Wolfgang Riechmann formerly of Düsseldorf group Streetmark.
Neighbourhood of Neu.
Got murdered before his solo debut was released (1978 ?)
Avatar 5:45pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

*I* believe you Donated TDK60 ! Here - Copy this one : ♡ ...
- grim Guido ! - but informative...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm Scott Williams:

he played in a HS band with Michael Rother. Very sad story, knifed to death by some drunks outside a Dusseldorf bar. 1 stunning record
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:48pm Guido from Cologne:

Riechmann was played over and over in our local radio at the time. But always the title track.
Avatar 5:49pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Paul Weller talked about confrontation w/ Sid Vicious - & noted how Violent that scene originally was in those years & how that's largely forgotten ; dunno if that relates. Any real City - could happen...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm Guido from Cologne:

Düsseldorf Altstadt is a entertainment district basically.
Though the Punk scene was also involved there with Ratinger Hof Pub, I don't think it were Punks.
There were pimps and dealers ...
Avatar 5:55pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...the proverbial Street...
