Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:03am Matt from Springfield:

Morning Meghan!

So, I'm still catching up with this - are you still going to have another show after this one, or is this a break from WFMU for a while?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:05am Andrew Fetter:

Good morning Meghan and fellow listeners!
Avatar 6:06am kat330:

Hi, Meghan! Spotty commenting here for me today, but I wanted to drop this in at the beginning:

"And in the end ..." Forever recall the math of Sir Paul:

♥u← = ♥u→

Dear Meghan, thanks x ∞ for the mighty fine programs you've shared with us and also for your support of my music.
Avatar 6:06am Sem Chumbo:

Hiya, Meghan. Swan song? Love me some Tubb in the am.
'lo, again, di Matt.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07am Meghan:

The is my second to last show. I am not on the next schedule, which is fine. I was trying to get a new slot, which did not happen. I will be doing fill ins and hope I'll be back the following schedule!
Avatar 6:07am Andy in Berlin:

Hey Meghan! And good morning everyone! Am I the only one who doesn't know what's up? Are you giving up the show?
Avatar 6:08am Andy in Berlin:

So wait a minute - does this mean we get to do the all swearing show next week?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:08am Matt from Springfield:

Aww man! :*(
Still, we have much enjoyed your current run, and hope you return soon!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09am Matt from Springfield:

Hiyagain Sem - nothing like a Burning Giraffe for a Black Swan song!
Avatar 6:09am Sem Chumbo:

ALL SWEAING! Now you're talking, AndyiB.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:10am Meghan:

Next week we are getting our FUCK on!
Avatar 6:10am Sem Chumbo:

There's something about the smell of burning giraffe, Matt...it goes with everything:-D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:10am Matt from Springfield:

FUCK yeahz!!!
Avatar 6:11am Andy in Berlin:

Alright!! Let me be the first to mention:
Sexy Motherfucker by Prince
I Know She's Fucking Someone Else by Type O Negative
a small consolation for loosing you but a consolation nontheless!
Avatar 6:13am Andy in Berlin:

...and I guess just about anything by Jackie O Motherfucker
Avatar 6:14am Dave B:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15am Guido from Cologne:

Guten Morgen Meghan!
Not on next shedule?
uUUH ... I'll miss something ...
... though I understand being the early bird DJ can become tough.
Avatar 6:16am Dave B:

All I can say is Pantera "FUCKING HOSTILE!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18am Matt from Springfield:

Mechanics of waking up can be hard-wired - I imagine I would also wake up in a panic on occasion.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18am Andrew Fetter:

Ugh, 4am and an icy parking lot. Awful. Don't blame you on that one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:19am Matt from Springfield:

"Adventures with Meghan"!
Loved this theme show, but whether doing freeform or theme I hope you hear you back here!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:20am Matt from Springfield:

But Rob Weisberg can play those, you're allowed to swear in Khmer over the air...

And btw: Harry Nilsson - "You're Breakin' My Heart"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:22am Matt from Springfield:

When Joe McG filled in for Matt Fiveash, he used the Web-only opportunity to play some choice "underground" R&B, like the Clovers doing an a capella "The Rotten Cocksuckers Ball"!! (or something like that!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:22am Ken From Hyde Park:

What if Nachum is off next Thursday and your program goes over the FM airwaves? That'd be a monkey in the wrench.
Avatar 6:22am Andy in Berlin:

hey if you want eloquent, then definitely the Type O Negative song, I Know She's Fucking Someone Else :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24am Matt from Springfield:

Aha! Here we go:

I was right on the title. Which, he played off of "A Cappella Is Not an Ice Cream Flavor: Bill Mac's 2012 Marathon Premium" ;)
Avatar 6:25am Dave B:

@Ken - then she TRULY goes out in style!
Avatar 6:26am Dave B:

Here's Meghan leaving the station next week:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:26am Matt from Springfield:

Digging these (bitter)sweet sounds of this here "Gothic Culture"...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32am listener james from westwood:

Dead Can Dance and Clan of Xymox in the same set = massive college flashbacks. Love it.
Will be sad to lose the Theme Park, but the new show in the works sounds like a good 'un.
And if it's eloquent swearing you're after, Ken Freedman's Seven Minutes in Deadwood edit of all the cussin' in a "Deadwood" episode might fit the bill: blog.wfmu.org...

@Elwyn: Yep, last two early morning fruit cups-and-coffee, at least.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:42am Spatulator (formerly elwyn5150):

@Matt: I hope somebody laces my fruit cup with drugs.
Avatar 6:42am Dave B:

I'll miss sharing music with you and guessing what you'll use.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:43am Matt from Springfield:

The best Skeeter Davis song. She has some detractors, but she also always has this one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:44am Matt from Springfield:

@Elwyn: Psychedelic cursing hallucination drug-cups of fruit!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:45am Guido from Cologne:

Where shall we send our mixtapes to next marathon?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:46am Matt from Springfield:

@Guido: You could always send them directly to listeners of this show! (But only if they pledged to FMU!) ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:46am Dave-olution Rabbit:

...I even felt a NorthNewEngland connection here now & then...
Avatar 6:47am Dave B:

Good thing I grabbed this before the big music blog war. I'll send some selections...

Avatar 6:48am Dave B:

Perhaps we can soundcloud exchange them or something?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49am Spatulator (formerly elwyn5150):

Will the soundcloud have fruit cups?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49am Matt from Springfield:

Till the end of the day! DUH - DUH - DUH-DUH DUH!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:51am Matt from Springfield:

Avatar 6:52am kat330:

@Meghan: Since I don't do FB (she notes for the 100th time), any chance you can send out email when you do a fill-in? I could of course rely solely on Philo to find out, but ....

Oh, yay! (cf. my note up at 6:06 :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53am Matt from Springfield:

"Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl but she doesn't have a lot to say..."

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:56am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...anybody left in the universe don't know that's Ringo doing a drumsolo only @ gunpoint - & John&Paul&George each trading off lead guitar licks - ?? No?...didn't think so...
Avatar 6:57am kat330:

McCartney was in concert here on Oct. 28th, and his second encore was, of course, The End.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:57am Matt from Springfield:

WHAT??! Whadda fuckinpurge!
Toss paint-filled water balloons at the Freeform Police!
Avatar 6:57am kat330:

ARRRRRGHHHH!! Oh, shit... sorry, Julie... Is there some mass misogyny going on on Montgomery St.??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:57am Guido from Cologne:

Wen will it be up?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:58am listener james from westwood:

Damn, no Dark Night of the Soul, either? Crud. Do hope women are well represented in the new schedule.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:58am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...crazybutt Year of the Horse man...
Avatar 6:59am Philo Gristle:

Morning Meghan! Sorry to hear you won't be on the new schedule, but will hold for your triumphant return! Wonderful show today, as always, and thanks for playing the Burritos.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:59am Andrew Fetter:

Damn, too many of my favorite shows going away.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:59am Matt from Springfield:

@RRN63: They say it was the only time they let Ringo do a "drum solo" (at the last album), but the one leading up to the bridge in "Birthday" was pretty damn close to one. (And pretty damn rawkin, too!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:01am Matt from Springfield:

@Meghan: "As the bearer of bad news, let me add that on the new schedule: everyone has been dismissed. We are being replaced by the NPR staff of WAMU and the news/info staff of WTOP in Washington..."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:02am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I had an idea for an Alternate Stream of the same Schedule- but 'inside out' - so all the Programs in inconvenient TimeSlots would be in...the opposite inconvenient TimeSlots...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:02am Matt from Springfield:

@RRN63: Well, year of Horse transitioning into year of Sheep (my personal opposite, so that's how I'll see it).
Avatar 7:04am kat330:

Best way to protest the lack of female presence is withholding the $ (and the listening and the commenting).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04am Matt from Springfield:

Someone who can write code could make an app like that, calling up Archives in a certain order, playing the schedule three and a half days off.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05am Spatulator (formerly elwyn5150):

Proposal for Meghan's new show: All the bad news read from around the world in a pleasant digestible form.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:06am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- does make one wonder what new goodies will be up ! That's always been a consolation before...
@Spatulator: Try Harry Shearer's 'Le Show' !...
Avatar 7:07am kat330:

@RR: You see his Nixon tapes YouTubes yet?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:07am Matt from Springfield:

@Elwyn: "Coney Island Boardwalk Brings The Bad News!"
Jovial carnival noises, Meghan + Julie + others drinking red snappers, giggling furiously and giving out all the bad news!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@kat: No - Thx for mentioning it again.
  7:09am the Canterbury wood-elf:

Does anyone know if DJ Stashu's back on the new schedule?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:09am Spatulator (formerly elwyn5150):

This set has got so many good songs... but I'm going to be depressed...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:10am Matt from Springfield:

@wood elf: Hasn't been released yet - I'm open to the new possibilities, but there's always a risk in too much change.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:10am Meghan:

it's a good depression......
Avatar 7:13am kat330:

I'll gamble Sunday's "Here's Where the Story Ends" might be on the list?
Avatar 7:14am TDK60:

Sorry to hear it's the End. Hadn't listened to your show before, due to timing. Today's an exception.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:18am Folsom:

Millie Jackson has a good 'fuck you' video on YouTube.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:18am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@kat: Okay - websearched!: Harry looks like he's going to do a brilliant turn here. Since it's on YT, there's probably zero budget...

...Maybe this is just like Congress - Change was wanted by someone...the fundraiser came up short (tho' I choose to think people will come thru eventually)...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19am Meghan:

Hey TDK60, you may be late to the game, but at least you made it to the game. Now you have archives to go back to
Avatar 7:19am Dave B:

hey, are comedy bits welcome for next week?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:20am Meghan:

Not full bits.... I am thinking quick clips, but that is it. This show is going to be rather diverse
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:20am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Change happens...
@DaveB: - if so - gotta start w/ LennyBruce ('F you ma! - no, really, I meant it!)...
Avatar 7:21am Dave B:

Avatar 7:23am KP:

Good morning, Meghan
Avatar 7:24am Philo Gristle:

@RR Nixon's The One was actually made for British tv channel Sky Arts, and does seem to have a bit of a budget! I was curious whether it was going to work, just re-enacting Nixon tapes, but it really does. It's very appropriate especially in this particular election season.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I regret not participating in the Comp. exchange - absolutely brilliant idea; intimidating here, tho'! - a high bar...I'd've probably gone w/ Quantity to cover for Quality ! : P ...

Avatar 7:33am kat330:

Philo and I quite enjoyed Robyn's "Storefront Hitchcock" documentary.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:33am Guido from Cologne:

OK, Tav Falco brought it all back ... along with the Cramps.
Avatar 7:34am TDK60:

Speaking of documentaries, just saw the new one on The Mekons -- great.
Avatar 7:35am kat330:

Wow, Meghan, you are really *coming through* with Philo's requests! (of course, no doubt duplicated by others' requests, too )!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:35am Ken From Hyde Park:

Gee, I hope the Shut Up, Weirdo (aka, What's Up, Stupid?) girls are on the new schedule.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:39am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@kat: I wondered if 'StorefronHitchcock' had ever even been made! I have the CD. Where/how did you see it? His surrealistic & humorous talk @ shows has left me feeling the world was a Dali painting afterwards; the guy is 24/7 !...
Avatar 7:40am Philo Gristle:

Thanks again, Meghan for a wonderful show! Gotta split to work. And thanks for the Jacobites, too. :)
Avatar 7:40am kat330:

@RR: www.youtube.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@Ken fHP: SUW has certainly made me laugh - but talkshows taking up hours of the Schedule are a hard sell to me - esp. when great Music DJs w/ much more left to give get the boot !...though I love Hearty especially (that's different)...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44am listener james from westwood:

@Ken: Likewise. I don't listen to Shut Up, Weirdo, but I like that 2 women have a show like theirs. I did a quick count of the women now on the schedule. 16 on air, plus Amanda on GTDR and Debbie D on Ichiban. Further losses would be sad. I know women listen and are into diverse, freeform music, based unscientifically on the Record Fair turnout. But I don't have an immediate solution to improving the gender split.
Avatar 7:44am KP:

i thought this was the End. Im already sobbing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- cheers kat !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46am Spatulator (formerly elwyn5150):

That's one of my favourite Daniel Johnston songs.
Avatar 7:46am KP:

i think im seeing that talk shows are the next thing. They will talk me out of being a fan.
Avatar 7:47am kat330:

@LJfW: If they (the powers that be) wanted our (women's) opinions or our listener loyalty, they'd actually ask for it and accommodate to some extent. But they don't.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48am Guido from Cologne:

Can anyone tell where is Keili's slot next shedule?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48am listener james from westwood:

There's at least one woman DJ I can think of, Samantha, who's been doing some good fill-ins, perhaps as a prelude to a full slot.
I blow hot and cold on talk shows, b/c they're only as good as their callers.
@kat: Have you addressed station mgmt directly? I haven't but if the new schedule shows a net loss of diversity, I might have to.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:49am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I think FMU has proved that - like Punk notably often was - it is fairly past considering Gender as a factor. I like to think so. Perhaps if it appears otherwise - it's because of factors beyond it...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:49am Guido from Cologne:

Samantha's fill-ins were great, yes.
Avatar 7:50am kat330:

And the same skew is heard among the artists aired as well. But someone (name withheld) told me he was told WFMU is "not a democracy." I already had discovered that.
Avatar 7:50am Sem Chumbo:

Well, we have the all-swearing show to look forward to next week. In the meantime, from Beatle George:
"I keep traveling around the bend
There was no beginning, there is no end."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51am listener james from westwood:

Also, a major channel for on-air talent is volunteering, so that's going to influence how many new DJs come into the mix.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51am Guido from Cologne:

Wasn't it about the club?
Avatar 7:51am TDK60:

Oh, this show is Penultimate!
Avatar 7:51am kat330:

@LJfW: I'm afraid anything I would write to "mgmt." would only backfire on those people I care about. Or in this case, on women in general.
Avatar 7:52am KP:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53am Guido from Cologne:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53am Spatulator (formerly elwyn5150):

Damn! I really wanted to make more mixtapes!
Avatar 7:53am KP:

Mix tapes keep me busy all year. Now what!
Avatar 7:53am Sem Chumbo:

yes,yes,yes to Africa-thing.
Avatar 7:54am kat330:

Yes, Meghan, you HAVE held true and can walk out next week with your head held high, your chin up and "FUCK!" on your lips. :)
  7:54am marco:

I am sooo sad your show is discontinued... This one is one of my favorites from WFMU :(
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55am Guido from Cologne:

You can co-host marathon shows and bring the mix tapes along.

NAZI PUNKS FUCK OFF! - Dead Kennedys
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...fwiw - hasn't FMU shown less bias against female DJs than anywhere else? - & we're speculating about a Schedule none of us have seen (they *always* change). Not saying I'm sure you're wrong...
Avatar 7:58am kat330:

@RR: Faint praise IMO. Our 51% is reflected nowhere (except the "traditional" female professions).
  7:59am steve:

sad... another reflexive complaint about 'not enough women' and 'accommodation'. a tinfoil hat with the word patriarchy on it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:59am Parq:

Well, ain't this a fine howdy doo? First the election results and now this. Sigh. Everything ends. Oh, and Eric Idle's "Fuck You Very Much".
Avatar 8:00am KP:

So ... women DJs will be welcome only when they are screaming and cursing and gossiping and doing everything except playing music?
Avatar 8:00am kat330:

@RR: And the main point is the time slot hierarchy, not just numbers in general.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:00am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...also, re talkshows - TheBestShow was *huge* - tho' I didn't pick up on it in time - so - whadda I know...
@kat: True this - Women are in the Majority Everywhere except - Anywhere.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:01am Guido from Cologne:

It would be a challenge to do a swear-show and leave all Punk Rock off ...
... since selecting swearing Punk tracks is a much too easy task ... anyone could do it.
Avatar 8:01am KP:

Why is Meghan's goal on a web only, 6 am show much higher than the one that follows it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:01am Meghan:

hahaha! Sem! You took my picture!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:02am Parq:

In other news: WELLINGTON — New Zealand police on Thursday charged AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd with attempting to procure murder, threatening to kill and possession of narcotics.

Avatar 8:03am TDK60:

Had no idea there's a women's equality issue here. [?] Also, I'm not much into FMU talk shows, more into music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:03am Ken From Hyde Park:

Thanks for Sleater Kinney, by the way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:04am Meghan:

awwww, thanks Marco! I appreciate it!
Avatar 8:04am kat330:

@TDK60: It was a talk show, of sorts, that brought me to FMU, but it's the music I'm staying for.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:05am Meghan:

It was a juicy giraffe kiss in Kenya! They have rough tongues, but are very sweet
  8:06am the Canterbury wood-elf:

Could someone (briefly) explain how the schedules are decide? Just curious...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:07am Guido from Cologne:

The micvrophone-only shows often do not really work for non-native speakers. Large parts of the humor get lost.
Shut Off Weirdo is not for me ... except this year's marathon episode.
Avatar 8:08am KP:

Shut OFF Weirdo! Thanks, Guido!
  8:08am steve:

who cares how the schedule is decided. is WFMU not a pleasure to listen to?
Avatar 8:09am Sem Chumbo:

Hey, Meghan. Yup, could not resist. Hope it is not too creepy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:09am Meghan:

Schedules change twice a year. The next one will happen in a few weeks and then it will change again in June. All the DJ's apply for a slot/slots that they would like and what they are willing to do. Ken takes all of the requests (which is no small task as there are about 70 slots on each schedule and more than that of DJs that want one of those 70 slots) and fills in the slots. Some don't change as those DJs have been on air for ages.... Like Jones and X Ray will never move.... ever (nor do I want them to!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10am listener james from westwood:

Steve, I care. And your tinfoil hat comment is not appreciated and not helpful.
Avatar 8:10am kat330:

@steve: I'll quote Mark Kermode: "Other opinions are available."
Avatar 8:11am kat330:

Hey, at least "women who castrate hogs" are getting fair representation now.
Avatar 8:11am Mayor J-Rex:

Great. Now I'm going to have to change the name of the band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:12am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...it would be hard to accuse FMU of not presenting a Variety - & it has brought us so many incredible Programs; also - the Scheduling often shows great insight on what should follow what in terms of flow...probably every one of us would construct a different Sched. if we could...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:14am Meghan:

hahaha..... I think it can be a tribute band in 2 ways now!

@Sem- no I am totally fine with it!

@Guido- I never thought about how the talk shows doe exclude a lot of non English speaking listeners! That is a really good point!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:17am listener james from westwood:

Thanks, Meghan, for the deets on DJ slots!
One bummer about losing Scharpling, is that there's less chance for Aimee Mann to call in or show up. Was great to have her as a participant in the station.
Avatar 8:17am Dave B:

Avatar 8:19am KP:

Talk shows work in cars, where you cant do anything else but listen. FMU has a very small area in which it can be received over air in cars. FMU and it's music is a backdrop. That its DJs (most) have personality is a huge plus but i dont want to hear them fighting with each other and "gasp" callers. Ugh!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:21am listener james from westwood:

@Rev: FMU has introduced me to more women performers than I can count, both on record and as live acts in the station, so I'll be thankful for that till I'm topsoil. I think another spot where women could be included more is in Monty Hall. With a city of talent one train or car ride away, there's got to be lots of women (e.g., the Gal Pals a couple of weeks back on Gary's GTDR show) who can play at the station for live audiences, on air or off.
Avatar 8:21am KP:

you are welcome, now and forever, amen
Avatar 8:23am KP:

I agree.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:23am listener james from westwood:

KP: Good point, thus the 6 pm talk slots during the week. Podcasting has liberated some of these from their car-bound limits, but that also requires folks to have the means to play them. Radio's a lot cheaper.
Avatar 8:23am kat330:

Why are they amazed? You earn it.
Avatar 8:24am HarktheUmpire:

The end?! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
Avatar 8:24am PKNY:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:24am listener james from westwood:

Meghan, must stumble off to the gym. I'm looking forward to next week and checking the rest of this show on the archives. FMU will be diminished without you.
Avatar 8:24am Mayor J-Rex:

Can we hijack two shows for the dead shows at the end of the year? Without them how am I going to dump expensive beer into my laptop?
Avatar 8:24am Sem Chumbo:

There's a time and a place for mushy. Today and here, for example, would be just fine, I reckon.
Avatar 8:24am Dave B:

I think part of that goodness is the involvement here on the comments, and your openness to requests, suggestions, show ideas.

Oh and letting people like myself program and come in. I asked Ken to re-instate the listener hour a while back.
Avatar 8:25am kat330:

@LJfW: Bye, James, and thanks for your feminism.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25am Meghan:

I remember once board op-ing for Mac and I walk out to see Patton Oswald sitting in the library. It was one of those great perks when Sharpling was here
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25am Guido from Cologne:

Shut Up Weirdo is "Zickenkrieg" ("bitch war") as we say. Can be amusing for one occasion, but starts to get booring with repeated listens. Too much issues about mainstrem US pop-culture we Europeans are absolutely not in. So it does not work. OK, it is post midnight for me anyway, no need to bother about. Just sayin'.
Avatar 8:25am KP:

Listener James, i saw the Nico play featuring Tammy Faye Starlite at Monty Hall and it was terrific. It was a shame it was not sold out (from what i could see) because it was hilarious, moving and musically amazing.
Avatar 8:26am Dave B:

Going to see Oswalt in January at Carnegie Hall
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:27am Guido from Cologne:

I used to love FMU for having a higher degree of female DJs. Would be sad to see this degree considerably decline.

Meghan and Trouble first got me hooked to wfmu.
Lovely times, thank you :-*

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:31am Meghan:

yay for Common!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:31am Ken From Hyde Park:

I'm anxious to see if Pseu Braun and/or Terre T return to the schedule. I remember DJ Hot Rod on Friday mornings, too.

  8:32am Andrew Fetter:

Embrace! Love it!
Avatar 8:32am kat330:

This IS a great group of people you get on comments. It doesn't have all the statistic citing and know-it-all comments so many shows throughout the workday attract. It is people talking about their relationship to the music -- and to you. Emotion, not trivia knowledge.
Avatar 8:33am Dave B:

Fred von Helsig is coming stateside again, and will be crashing at my place after the new year. I might be able to set something up at home.

Hey Meghan! Enjoying the end, but sorry about it at the same time. Hope you're okay on your end.
Avatar 8:40am Dave B:

RRN63 - Meghan on b/u vocals on "Rocking The Casbah". Not the greatest audio, had the camera forward of the sound system....

Next Scheme bigger and better production.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:41am Meghan:

Was that birthday Scheme or Lumberyard Scheme?
Avatar 8:42am Dan B From Upstate:

Aw, man. I made it a point just last week to start listening regularly (I've always liked this show, but real life has gotten in the way, so I could only catch it so often). It was a real power-line up with Meghan and Joe, and topped off with Charlie being back. I guess I don't deserve it because I didn't appreciate it when it was here. Best of luck, Meghan. Hope to see you soon. Can you play "Fuck You" by Wesley Willis next week?
Avatar 8:42am Mayor J-Rex:

Valley Girl Scheme. Also Lumberyard.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:42am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I'm just forever jealous someone else came up w/ the name 'SS Decontrol'...
Avatar 8:43am Dave B:

here's the Bday/Valley Girl show

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:43am Meghan:

Hey Davex...... I am okay with it. Thanks for asking. It gives me time to plan and prep for the next phase!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:45am davex:

Sounds good, Meghan. Hope to hear you again soon. And there are still all those archives...
Avatar 8:45am KP:

On plus side, Meghan you'd be good for video if that experiment works out.
Avatar 8:46am KP:

Avatar 8:46am kat330:

Avatar 8:46am Dave B:

If one listened to one archive show every Thursday, it would last til the year 2020
Avatar 8:46am Mayor J-Rex:

Oh, The Sundays. A guilty pleasure song!
Avatar 8:46am KP:

I cant take this one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:47am common:

just heard this sundays song in a drug store yesterday. reminds me of when i went to see them in n.c. and almost got arrested.
Avatar 8:48am Sem Chumbo:

"Almost?" Jeez, ya gotta apply yourself next time, common! ;-D
Avatar 8:48am kat330:

@Meghan: Somehow it will feel odd bidding you a ♥-felt adieu next week amidst all the fucks and shits, so I'm going to get the sweet stuff in at The End here: THANK YOU! -- paljon kiitoksia (in Philo's tongue)! -- for these few months we finally found and tuned in to your program! You're the best, and that's what we both wish for you during this extended mic break!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:48am Meghan:

almost got arrested at a Sundays concert?! How?! And I wish I got to seem them. I love her voice
Avatar 8:49am KP:

I guess a lot of us have UWTP souvenirs.
Avatar 8:49am Mayor J-Rex:

I'll always treasure that hangover from last year's end of the year show....
Avatar 8:49am KP:

It's that little souvenir, of a colorful year
Which makes me smile inside
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:49am common:

hee, sem. i'll try harder. a cop thought i was drunk driving, but i was sober and sick. he told me to breathe in his face and i coughed phlegm all over him...he got angry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50am Spatulator (formerly elwyn5150):

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50am Meghan:

Avatar 8:50am Sem Chumbo:

Ya, KP, like blasting the Africa premium full blast for weeks on end, driving the neighbours INSANE!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:51am Meghan:

Maybe I'll make a Lee's Hawaiian going away party for any local listeners....
  8:51am the Canterbury wood-elf:

i saw The Sundays supporting Throwing Muses back in late '89 when they were surrounded by an enormous amount of hype, so it was a little disappointing at the time. Didn't get arrested either...
