the angry anteater appears!
Avatar 3:17pm Cheri Pi:

My peplum is reverberating.
Avatar 3:18pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

HELL YES, infinite anteaters in every direction!
Loving the sonic char.
Avatar 3:21pm Cheri Pi:

Say, get a load of that strange anteater lagging behind the rest of his herd, he seems to be feeding on staples
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22pm DCE:

gosh I can barely hear this...there's some awful racket on the floor above
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22pm Ike:

I dig this. I dig this so much that I'm halfway to Yakutsk. Wish I could hang out in the comments for a while, but can't. But I'll be listening!
Avatar 3:22pm still b/p:

@ cheri -- When Roosevelt Franklin showed up on the Hinky Dinky playlist the other day, Jeff Golick pointed us to a list that rated him as #1 underrated Muppet. Guess who was numbah two-who?
Avatar 3:24pm quinn:

Second time I'm hearing Heldon today on WFMU... Did somebody die?
Avatar 3:26pm Cheri Pi:

NO.WAY Stillb/Bp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally getting the reputation they deserve
  3:29pm Dean:

Fondest memory of this record: spinning the LP on a cheesy close-and-play 'table mid-afternoon one weekend c. 1982 and taking a sweet nap.
Avatar 3:30pm Jeff:

Heldon? What's a Heldon?

How is this not Fripp and Eno?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm Scott Williams:

@Jeff, it does come "in the wake of King Fripp" (side 1, track 1)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm Wendy del Formaggio:

Scott Williams! If the first half-hour of your show was an album, it would be called "Music To Get High On A Bleak, Greasy March Afternoon In A Moribund Suburban Strip Mall Parking Lot By". Not that I would know about such things, of course. Anyway, good stuff! Hooray!
Avatar 3:35pm Parq:

<Looking like the offspring of a mop and the Fry Guys>

Congrats to the Yips. Can somebody tell me who the Fry Guys are?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm Davis:

wah, yikes, must sit
Avatar 3:35pm steve:

hey folks
Avatar 3:37pm DJ Stashu:

Hi Steve! This is what a hologram sounds like!
Avatar 3:38pm DJ Stashu:

At least SW's playlist is making me think so.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm DCE:

nuthin' but stars, SW
Avatar 3:41pm steve:

you can't go wrong with lasers and holograms.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm DCE:

Daddy loves Bebey
Avatar 3:46pm Cheri Pi:

At work we were asked what activity we would want a holograph of ourselves to do, I replied "to be dead" of course. I'll do the living around here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:53pm Davis:

Avatar 3:53pm Sem Chumbo:

You know, in elementary school rhythm band, I was given rubber sticks because I could not even keep a beat as simple as this one and the music tezcher did not want my arrhythmic stick-beating to bother anyone.-P
  3:53pm Dean:

@Cheri Pi: I love the notion of being dead as an activity. Per OED, the word "active" derives from Anglo-Norman and Middle French "actif," meaning "(of a life or lifestyle) characterized by external acts of piety rather than by contemplation (1160 in Old French in vie active )." One thing's for sure: when you're dead, you can pretty well block out your entire calendar.
Avatar 3:54pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I may yay at this. Be prepared.
Avatar 3:54pm Jesse K:

this Wolfgang Voigt reminds me a little of Thomas Brinkmann's Studio One variations, with the stereo separation
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55pm DCE:

clicking Broadcast before I even hear the first note. That's confidence.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55pm DCE:

oh, well, there wasn't much to that one, was there?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm DCE:

omfg, the guy one cube over is so loud on the phone, and then whoever is drilling that brick outside, a man can't hear a damn thing
  4:00pm Dean:

Sorry, I'll try to keep it down.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Oi Scott!
Horrorthon 14 opened with The Keep (1983)– creepy synthy soundtrack by Tangerine Dream. Kinda your wheelhouse!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm KK:

Weird movie huh Scott, that Berberian Sound STudio...I thought it was a nice touch only being able to hear the utterly ridiculous horrors being filmed.
  4:03pm paula pc:

if i did a suicide tribute and sang in Japanese, would i sound this awesome
Avatar 4:04pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

HA, Greg, good grief, I saw The Keep when it first came out. Was a huge TD fan at the time--I recall focusing almost entirely on the soundtrack & immediately forgot the film.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm Davis:

ah wonderful
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm Greg from Bloomfield:

@Rev: The best thing about a horrorthon crowd is that half the names in the credits of any given movie get huge rounds of applause. Tangerine Dream! Goblin! The Shaw Brothers! Dick Miller!
Avatar 4:08pm Grok-o-matic:

Yes!! Eno, Dead Finks!
Avatar 4:09pm still b/p:

I also say ha & ahh; haven't heard this is quite a while, and it tosses my ass back forty years to earliest listens.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Davis:

tape echoes are good for us
Avatar 4:11pm still b/p:

And it was said to be a message/eye-poke for Ferry...?
Avatar 4:12pm Jeff:

Wow, I hadn't noticed before how the phase is wacky for the phrase

"'til they find their way up here"

in _Dead Finks_.
Avatar 4:13pm Cheri Pi:

This Carsick Cars song is pretty sick.
Avatar 4:14pm Cheri Pi:

And pre-clickied for my convenience. that's what I call service.
  4:15pm paula pc:

their English beats Mark Zuckerberg's Mandarin, I think
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Pretty much every time I say "Wow, who is THIS?!" It's Carsick Cars.

The silent fundraiser pledge form that was mailed out featured my precious white fatteh Jeffh sleeping with his Hello Kitty ladies. The silent fundraiser wraps up Friday, so this is the last chance the DJs will be on the air collecting ... until the next one. Pledge now!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm Carmichael:

@Dean: I can't get to the sign to read it (chain fence). I'm in Sacramento. The numbers never change. The sign has been there as long as I have. The mystery continues ...
  4:57pm JakeGhould:

I always thought it was StashBOO! Maybe that is what it should be for Halloween?
Avatar 5:00pm DJ Stashu:

Love hearing "Stashoo" sounds like a sneeze. Always wanna say, bless you.
