Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm Gaylord Fields:

@sugarwolf, etc.: Pretend it's 1964 and you're yet to be born, so you can't work at all.
  5:17pm Tommy:

This is very Bill Kellyesque , I had to check to clock to make sure is was Gaylord's show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17pm Gaylord Fields:

@Sem Chumbo: I hope you'll indulge me this special show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:18pm Gaylord Fields:

@Tommy: There will be some overlap.

Not that there is anything wrong with Bill Kellyesque ..I'm digging it

Ack! You are possessed by a Poltergeist or some ghost that personifies an aspect of humanity most humans do not want to attribute to human behavior thus they “other” such behavior into the form of a magical spirit. Ack!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm Gaylord Fields:

@kat330: Frankie Laine's (the original) version of "Jezebel" really sizzles!
Avatar 5:32pm kat330:

That's the general opinion. Lots of musical types born 3/30: Clapton, Tracy Chapman, Jones (Norah) and, erm, Celine Dion.

@dale: Happy Beat-day! I technically saw the Beatles on Sullivan, but, being 3, I have no recollection. I'm sure it made a subliminal imprint on my impressionable mind.

A Hanna-Barbera label, really?

All the day and all of the night beginning to Randy's way of thinking.
Avatar 5:53pm Philo Gristle:

@Sem Running back and forth between kitchen and living room causes some time delays. :)

- Good Luck doca: Here in U.S.: Hoping we don't lose the Senate to radical Republicans in mid-term Elections very shortly...
Avatar 5:55pm kat330:

We watched "Snowpiercer" yesterday. A really fine cast -- Tilda going all out with make-up -- but I was a bit disappointed after enjoying "The Host" a lot.
  5:56pm Tommy:

I think I know what’s going on. Bill Kelly, in an act of domestic music terrorism, is refusing to relinquish control of the studio and Gaylord ,under duress due to Bill threatening to smash his favorite( fill in any band with extremely sophisticated vocal harmonies) Is acting as though these are his records
Avatar 5:56pm t_J:

Once saw a rant on TV declaring Randy as the most insipid or dork man or boy name in English language .. no further focus on that thematic is really needed or good thematic
Avatar 5:57pm Philo Gristle:

I think I mentioned to Kat that Snowpiercer yesterday would've been better from the director of Under the Skin... a bit of poetry goes a long way in science fiction.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57pm Gaylord Fields:

@Revolution Rabbit Nov63: Even though I'm all over the map in my freeform guise, my heart really, truly belongs to Sixties pop-rock.
Avatar 5:58pm Philo Gristle:

Happy birthday dale!
  6:00pm original famous sugarwolf:

My mother missed the Beatles on Ed Sullivan because she had a Sunday school or church group meeting that night
Avatar 6:00pm kat330:

t_J: Speaking of names, this "Linda" label reminds me of my theory that most people named Linda are sorta slutty. Never did any scientific research on that premise, but it bears out as true in my life and my experience. ;)
Avatar 6:00pm doca:

@Gaylord: Your portuguese is great!
Avatar 6:00pm t_J:

I've been looking for a movie about a famous east European flute player who was really popular with a non classical approach to music, yet keep failing in finding it
Avatar 6:01pm t_J:

@ doca, heard on the news a man with a snake pet was impelled to vote in Sao Paulo
@Tommy, that seems legit
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:02pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

'Randy' is BritSlang for 'horny'...

..Hope it's not a faux pas to link to another stream somehow - but this 'Beyond the Beat Generation' from apparently some madman in Amsterdam (??) - sure impresses *me* w/ his archiving of 'Garage':

But still very cloudy here...4 days straight, with rain:-(
  6:04pm original famous sugarwolf:

@kat my boss is a Linda and sooooo not slutty
Avatar 6:04pm Philo Gristle:

@t_J a documentary or fictional film?
Avatar 6:05pm kat330:

@Sem: I swear it was late last night -- about 5 mins. after the notice we were given said it would be -- and we almost gave up and went inside. But then she shone, bright and strong from the north. Still haven't tired of the sight.
  6:05pm ?:

I'm enjoying this show immensely. Of course.
Avatar 6:05pm JakeGhould:

Gaylord likes 60s pop rock? I would have never known! How fiendishly sneaky of him not to share that bit of gory info before.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...'Linda' means 'lovely', I believe - not slutty, but can see it from there, maybe - ??
...& I'm just sliding into space station view, apparently...SpaceRace is kinda 60s...
Avatar 6:06pm kat330:

@OFS: Like I said, no one has offered me a research grant. :) Besides, it was probably only true for a certain generation.
Avatar 6:06pm dale:

where has everyone been? gaylord has been the lord of the faux beatles forever!
Avatar 6:07pm dale:

this motions song is GORGEOUS! where do people find these 45s?
Avatar 6:08pm kat330:

Jake, you seem sooooo prepped for All Hallow's Eve. Ck. out Philo's profile page and click the clown-doll image in his group of pics for a nice little shiver.
Avatar 6:09pm Sem Chumbo:

@kat: coastal Canada not so great for viewing, but have seen that arresting sight more than once. First time, didn't know what it was. Found a tracking site and by that time ( about 15 minutes), it was over the tip of South Africa! Enthralling.
Avatar 6:09pm kat330:

Oooh, I like this Motions song with its somber, minor-key music and a ☼-y title.
Avatar 6:09pm dale:

last week i've watched the station fly over 3 X. although the email notice i got last night from spot the station was AFTER the flyover.
  6:09pm Tommy:

Seriously , this is a great show ( as usual) at times similar the Bill's show but different in may ways
Avatar 6:10pm Philo Gristle:

Not trying to get everyone to check my profile page, but I do have a description there of a FANTASTIC ISS flyover from February 2013.
Avatar 6:11pm kat330:

Tonight the ISS is supposed to have a 6-min. view at 7:37, so we'll see if it's on time this time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm Gaylord Fields:

@Philo Gristle: You're right again! Same Ides of March who also had a huge hit with the fake BS&T "Vehicle."
Avatar 6:12pm doca:

@t_j: really? I've seen that a guy glued the number 3 on the voting machine so that people could not press 13, Dilma's number (to see the paranoia about it). Another guy put fire on the machine too
Avatar 6:12pm Philo Gristle:

@Gaylord Pebbles vols 9 & 10 are probably my all-time favorite comp lps. I've heard all those songs hundreds of times. Love hearing other songs from the bands...

Avatar 6:15pm kat330:

@Sem: And as for viewing conditions, it's amazing how often some special celestial event occurs *only* when cloudy here, but beyond that, we have an idiot neighbor with a gigantic, absurd "spotlight" on their back yard area, which completely spills over onto our back deck. [I've immortalized Jimmy and Cindy in my "Swamp Guinea" track Meghan played one Thurs. morn a while back.]
Avatar 6:15pm Sem Chumbo:

@Philo: very cool, indeed. Reportage and poetry, too!
Avatar 6:17pm Sem Chumbo:

@kat: we have a dark sky preserve about 30 minutes from here, a National Park. probably best to get off my a** and get out there instead of complaining about living on the ocean:-P

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:23pm Gaylord Fields:

@Revolution Rabbit Nov63: Billy Childish knows of what he speaks, as he did his own Fake Beatles turn in the Milkshakes.

One thing good about Ringo singing is the other three could do the background parts
Avatar 6:23pm Philo Gristle:

@Sem Coastal anywhere, I'll take it. Ocean, lakeshore.... just too damn expensive these days. We've been trying to move and always looking first at coastal areas...
Avatar 6:24pm doca:

@t_j: Dilma's and PT are best, but those are tricky elections for sure. It seems PT will win, though for a close margin
Avatar 6:24pm kat330:

@Philo: Yeah, but not *too* close to the coast with glacier melt and all.
Avatar 6:24pm Philo Gristle:

No wonder my fave Beatles song is a Ringo tune. "Octopus' Garden" indeed.

@kat330: how about right on the coast, but really high up, maybe on a cliff (composed of a rock type that doesn't erode very fast)?
Avatar 6:27pm Sem Chumbo:

@k & P: how about a little bit of European seacoast in Canadian waters? Central to everything! goo.gl...
Avatar 6:28pm Philo Gristle:

@Caryn Kat's in the kitchen, but yeah, long as there's a way to get to the water and back for a swim or few!
Avatar 6:28pm glenn:

"Boys" is a song by Luther Dixon and Wes Farrell, originally performed by The Shirelles.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30pm Caryn:

What with all the faux-Beatles and Beatles-adjacent stuff, I'm now wondering if Gaylord will suddenly produce a 45 copy of Cilla Black doing "Step Inside Love"...
Avatar 6:31pm Sem Chumbo:

Wonderful radio, GF, very glad to have stopped by this evening.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm Gaylord Fields:

@Caryn: I had it in my hand and put it back, because it was a little later than my focus.

Avatar 6:34pm kat330:

@Caryn: Break from kitchen -- yeah, like the wuthering heights and heath cliffs of Dover as along as still easy beach access.

@Revolution Rabbit Nov63: I can't believe that in their native UK, the Zombies are one-hit wonders!
Avatar 6:39pm kat330:
