UGLY pictures? Tell me more about that, but two thumbs up for this show, at a minimum. Hiya, Irwin. Hello, Sean G, the wet coast, and the RevRab.

Greetings Irwin and Chusideologues.

Can we hit 100% of pledge goal this show? I think we can. What d'ya think?
Avatar 3:15pm Sem Chumbo:

Yes, we can.
  3:15pm The Jandeksorcist:

"Thumbs up!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm Irwin:

Thumbs UP to $$ support for WFMU. Hit the tipjar atop the magic playlist. Thank so you much.
Avatar 3:17pm V Priceless:

hey Irwin! What a monster talent Jack Bruce was - RIP!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm Irwin:

Great singer, awesome bassist.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Thanks for the Jack, Irwin. Haven't heard too much Bruce love in other regions of FMU
  3:18pm Jack:

Also wrote some great songs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm Guido from Cologne:

I've been listening to Graham Bond Org. recently.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...may I pause to reflect that Jack Bruce was of course a key BassPlayer in RawkHistory - but also wunna the greatest Singers (yup! - Thx I.C. - & yup! a Writer too, Thx Jack)
- & even that Cream - partly cause of Jack's Classtical Training - were critical & formative to expanding the vocabulary & possibilities of Rawk - to Metal, Prog & Fusion (anybody into Playing Instruments for their own sake & songs over 2:30 in Pop/Rawk, &tc.)...
- okay: back to our regularly scheduled PostPunk minimalism & cynicism, kiddos...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24pm Guido from Cologne:

And there was an old 1971 feature from German TV:
Is displays a lot about his personality, esp. his sense of humor.
(Graham Bond in his band as well ...)
  3:28pm ccrides:

I always mistook the line..."I'll wait in the queue"... for something a little more sexual in the song 'White Room' by Cream...Jack was great!!!...:)O(:...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm Irwin:

There's nothing like Ella Fitzgerald covering "Sunshine of Your Love" singing the line "I'll give you my dull surprise."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- Cheers Guido.
...depends on what he was waiting for cc ! (...queuing something Brits excell @, I hear)...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm Guido from Cologne:

Cheers RRN63
(There's enough progish stuff on WFMU still ... just sayin')
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Clapton reflected that Cream were Jack's band, really.

Irwin: Hates Ella - loves Miley ! : P ...
  3:42pm Jack:

Now I'm thinking about the 4th and 5th members of Cream and their contribution to the whole: Pete Brown (lyrics) and not to forget Felix Pappalardi, especially on Disraeli Gears and Wheels of Fire. Pappalardi's touches really made some of those songs.
  3:43pm ccrides:

Chelsey Hotel...'We are ugly, but we have the music'...etc...New Skin For The Old Ceremony...:)O(:...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm Guido from Cologne:

Time to grow up, Irwin. Let it go.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...& if I don't care for a million screens of Sports in my face ? Oops - wrong planet, that's what...Oh!: Jazz w/ the - uh - Jazz taken out of it
...Right !!: Everything about it was *wrong* - but I'm keepin' thuh NAME...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Mike East:

I've been to a lotta dives...Maxwells was not that divey.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm Mike East:

and the food was good at the old Maxwells, imo
  3:51pm Woo:

Hey, what happened to that CBGB place?
  3:51pm The Jandeksorcist:

Are they gonna have Beatles Brunch on Saturdays and Schoolhouse Rock Buffet on Sundays? Plenty of stroller parking?
Just don't "spill stuff everywhere"....

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm common:

same thing happened to my favorite bar in philly where we all used to play. god, the world is stupid.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm steve:

you forgot about The Nerds and the Clapton tribute band
Avatar 3:56pm KP:

That was awesome Irwin!
  3:58pm The Jandeksorcist:

How do Nirvana and the Buzzcocks get mashed up in the same sentence about "raw angst"? This whole article is a satire, right ? A put-on. It's gotta be. I bet they're gonna let people jump around in the back and get their ears blasted out....or else what's the point? They might as well call it Applebee's.
  3:59pm a story:

I only went to Maxwell's once. It was the night I got married. A good memory. Memories ...
  3:59pm KevinfromBayRidge:

You really know how to depres a guy, Irwin. Shall we go to the new Maxwell's and spill crap on the floor?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm Pat Byrne:

Irwin, this is not only one of my favorite songs, it's one of my favorite pieces of recorded sound. Long Live Sugar Pie.
Avatar 4:00pm KP:

Irwin deserves to make his goal after that, and he's just a little away. Come on!
  4:01pm The Jandeksorcist:

I always said, there's nothing worse than a music club with sticky floors. Just ruins the whole experience. And it's unsanitary.
Avatar 4:01pm Sem Chumbo:

@pat: I expect to hear it some Wednesday morning soon. Deal?

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:03pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...thing is: it's not just Mawell's in NJ: this is the perfect encapsulation of the general situation...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm Irwin:

What KP ^ says.
  4:05pm The Jandeksorcist:

We know he's some kind of big-time reporter if he's working for that bastion, the Hudson Reporter.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

You know you played this Joe in March? (Which is not terrible.)
  4:08pm ccrides:

Them danged old 'Post-Millenialists'!!!...:)O(:...
4:08pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Wow, on one of my increasingly rate returns to NJ, I get the treat of driving around to Joe Frank, and one of my favorite JF stories. Thanks, Irwin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm SeanG:

flat screen epidemic!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11pm Irwin:

RRNov63: I said earlier it was a re-run, because it has a Halloween sub-theme. This is one of those episodes I never tire of. Heard it a dozen times.
  4:11pm The Jandeksorcist:

Rally 'round Joe Frank fans. If you value this fortnightly opportunity to be soothed by images like the cute chick at the bar dressed as Jesus, hit the pledge button and add a few bucks to Irwin's Pledge-ometer. It's the last two days of the Drive.
Avatar 4:12pm conkrete_dawg:

  4:15pm ccrides:

I bet she is 'bi'???...:)O(:...
  4:18pm The Jandeksorcist:

How can you NOT hit on Jesus? If you're Joe, I mean?
Avatar 4:19pm conkrete_dawg:

Chusid, I wonder how you occupy yourself during these long episodes...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Pope Francis just announced that Jehovah is not a 'Magician w/ a Magic Wand' who can do anything (?) - & that the Big Bang & Evolution are facts...wonder how Joe received this...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...suddenly - Joe reminds me of DavidLynch...
  4:24pm ccrides:

Look through any window, yeah...what do you see???...etc...:)O(:...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm Irwin:

dawg: coffee & snack, email, vac main studio, socialize with the overlords, organize thoughts, plot the conquest of mine enemies and ponder world dominance. Also listen to Joe.
  4:25pm Dan:

a child like God :-(
  4:25pm The Jandeksorcist:

THIS is the Pope to petition for sainthood for Timothy Leary. It's been done before, but the wrong guy was in the Seat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26pm Irwin:

Less than $300 from this show's fundraising goal. If 20 of you pledge $15, we slam the lid by 6:00.
  4:27pm dan:

do you take btc?
  4:28pm ccrides:

Where do they go???...groovin' on their way..!..:)O(:...

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:54pm Irwin:

Thanks to listener Heather of Canada for the pledge. An upstanding citizen of Free-Formistan, setting a righteous example for her co-listeners.
Avatar 5:09pm Sem Chumbo:

Sun Ra getting plenty of play 'round the schedule.
*steeples fingers* Excellent!.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:11pm Irwin:

  5:13pm Clay:

This Sun Ra is perfect for an overcast NYC day, Irwin. Great show. Loved the Joe Frank.
  5:13pm Tommy:

This is what I'm talking about !!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm Irwin:

Love this piece, only discovered it last week. Late-life Ra, 1988, just a few years before he departed.
  5:16pm Laura L:

I feel I've been dwelling on an Other Plane myself today--but hello from the Other Plane!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:18pm Irwin:

Any pledges for Joe Frank, Sun Ra, or Maxwell's rants?
  5:21pm Listening Out There:

I used to have "Blue Delight" on cassette...
  5:22pm Listening Out There:

...it had a great photo of Herman Poole Blount on it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:26pm Irwin:

LOT: yeah, I saw that. Why did they put a photo of HIM on the cover of Sun Ra's CD? Inexplicable.
  5:28pm Listening Out There:

I understand they were good friends...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29pm Irwin:

Don't know about that. Sun Ra kinda turned his back on Herman early on.
  5:30pm ccrides:

What a trip!!!...:)O(:...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:35pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Donovan much maligned - but maintains he 'went electric' before Dylan - was certainly 'Psychedelic' earlier than most - incorporated Jazz & International elements - in any combo - very early & w/out flinching even slightly...
  5:37pm ccrides:

His appearance on Jonesville Station was most excellant!!!...:)O(:...
  5:38pm ccrides:

Avatar 5:45pm Sem Chumbo:

Drummer gone wild *l*
  5:45pm Lovey:

That's a Nazz song your playing there
  5:46pm Courtney D:

That was good stuff
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm Irwin:

Thanks to the Being of Higher Enlightenment known as Bas from Utrecht for the nice pledge. Closer to the 100% goal.
  5:46pm ccrides:

'nuther great show Irwin!!!,,,:)O(:...
  5:47pm Lovey:

I should post the song my band and I just wrote called My Sweet Ford on the A side and Bad Gas on the B side
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:48pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Nazz of course triggering Wh♂ brain receptors - a very good thing imho...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm Irwin:

Grace is the teen vocalist from "Ivy & the Wicker Suitcase," the Brian Beattie production featured on this program a couple of months ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- wow. So developed. Voice so full - & range of inflections - a little Bjork-like. Likewise song & arrangement/production...
  5:58pm Laura L:

Thanks for a mighty fine show, as ever, Irwin!
  5:58pm Tommy:

This is also what I'm talking about-I talk about a lot of things
Avatar 5:59pm TDK60:

I concur with RRN63 @ Jack Bruce, who brought bass out front! I first heard him on the 'What's Shakin?' sampler album, on a rendition of 'Crossroads' by Eric Clapton & the Powerhouse w/Stevie Windood, voc. Bruce's bass was way vibrato, wild!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:00pm Bas NL:

Thanks for the great sounds Irwin!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:00pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I believed I ☆ed everything this week, Mr. Irwin.
  6:01pm The Jandeksorcist:

Thanks Irwin!
  6:02pm Listening Out There:

Another great show + 6% progress. Yay :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:02pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:
