Avatar 3:12am Andy in Berlin:

Good morning everyone! And welcome back Bill! I was also gone at the same time so here we are together again.
Avatar 3:13am Andy in Berlin:

...and while you were gone, there was a spontaneous mini ZZZZ meet-up over at Underwater Theme Park.
Avatar 3:13am Bill Mac:

Wow, it's so good to have the stink of the station back on me! Glad you decided to rejoin me this week. Lotsa new stuff - well, for me anyway...

Avatar 3:16am Bill Mac:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19am Guido from Cologne:

Yes, important instrument in Thai Molam music tradition.
Avatar 3:19am Sem Chumbo:

Found some phin pix: ofsoundmind.wordpress.com... One of these looks like a K-1 Gibson mandocello I owned once, sort of.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21am mauri:

Bill, Not that much. nights are below 10C already but still reaching 18C daytime. some harsh north wind said to come on tuesday. and after that its all around 5C.
I've been trying this sort of fasting; living on little berries, green tea, water, 2 cups of juice and a cup of coffee. now for 3 days... don't know what to make of it.. I guess it works?

Good morning Bill Mac and other Residents of this space

primeval man used to eat tons of berries iorder to collect carbohydrate facing the winter.
genetic roots of overweight problems ("why do we like sweetis?"-question)
So mauri, you#re doing the exact opposite.
Fasting is for the end of the winter!
Avatar 3:27am Bill Mac:

KP! Performance this evening?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28am mauri:

@guido oh... maybe the meaning for this is that Im about to move somewhere sunny south...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28am Guido from Cologne:

good idea mauri
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29am mauri:

I'd never do that. I want to ski!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29am Guido from Cologne:

Quick hello today afore setting off for a short break. It's our wedding anniversary today. Aaaaahhhh.
Avatar 3:36am Sem Chumbo:

@w41: made a bunch of bialys and now slathering them with rhubarb/strawberry preserves.. Sounds like you're having an English breakfast.
Avatar 3:36am w41:

I'm sure mauri got the reference! Congrats Brian!
Avatar 3:36am Brian in UK:

Bill, there's doughnuts in every boardroom in the country.
Avatar 3:37am Sem Chumbo:

Have a great day Brian!
Oatmeal and raisons over here on a chilly morning
Avatar 3:39am w41:

Why did Scotland have an independence vote while Northern Ireland didn't? Seems like it should've been the other way around
Avatar 3:40am Brian in UK:

Just been thunder & lightening here plus mucho rain.
Avatar 3:40am Sem Chumbo:

@Stanley: here we had "ten thousand" to that:-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42am Guido from Cologne:

Scottland independence issue on agenda somehow since decades and people in Ireland fed up with anything similar to wartime conditions I suppose.
Avatar 3:42am Sem Chumbo:

Bill's back, baby!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43am Guido from Cologne:

SaturDon advertisement!
get it or you'll kiss something very important!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43am Stanley:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43am Fran:

Howdy all - a quick breakfast listen before packing up the car and heading north again from our Cornish holiday. Bill Mac show soundtracked by around 1000 Cornish crows at the moment - it sort of works with Beefheart!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43am Guido from Cologne:

... i'm about to enjoy my own typos more and more ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44am Stanley:

Sounds a bit like it was recorded in a sock, though.
Avatar 3:44am w41:

Thank God it's an instrumental version… Kids might be listening!
Avatar 3:45am Brian in UK:

Here's a Will Rogers quote 'When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to your youth, think of algebra'.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45am Fran:

Happy anniversary Brian - enjoy the weekend George and Mildred style!
Avatar 3:45am w41:

(Not as if kids should be allowed to listen to this either, of course.)
Avatar 3:45am Andy in Berlin:

Avatar 3:46am Brian in UK:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13am Guido from Cologne:

very nice extra-terrestrial exotica style.
Avatar 4:14am Bill Mac:

@W41 Later dubbuyuh!
Avatar 4:15am Bill Mac:

Wow, that's a lot of refreshment for a one hour meeting...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17am Fran:

Double albums are however often the resting place of the scoundrel - the double live album. Good examples and bad examples of the double live? Mine are (off the top of my head): Good - Space Ritual or Henry Cow - Concerts or VDGG - Vital and Bad - any live lp from any 80's/90's poodle haired pomp metal bands you can think of.....
Avatar 4:19am Bill Mac:

Frampton Comes Alive...
Avatar 4:20am Sem Chumbo:

Oh, man. Where is the brain bleach? I had, I thought, totally forgot that one
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22am Fran:

Of course but that was too easy. There are monsters out there hiding under the protection of Frampton Comes Alive which has a kind of radar scrambling special quality hiding albums by Journey, REO, Styx, Angel etc etc - they are a sort of stealth crud!
Avatar 4:22am Bill Mac:

Sorry man..... wasn't it part of the uniform back in the days of hope?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22am Stanley:

Zappa in New York was a good live double
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24am Fran:

Bill - this Awesome Tapes From Africa tape has been a major part of my holiday listening. It is er...an awesome tape from Africa!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24am Fran:

Good call Stanley
Avatar 4:25am Bill Mac:

@Stanley Didn't that start off with Bosoms and a hoppy alcoholic beverage?
Avatar 4:25am Sem Chumbo:

@Fran: got seriously hooked on African sounds thanks to Underwater Theme Park's five week omnibus musical tour of the continent. Superb 2 disc comp.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26am Fran:

Not heard of that Sem?
Avatar 4:29am Sem Chumbo:

It was the host's, Meghan's, premium last year. Likely still available for a pledge.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29am Stanley:

Mmmmm... I forgot about that, was thinking more of the Illinois Enema Bandit.
  4:30am P-90:

@Fran: It's all on the UWTP archive, it's brilliant
Avatar 4:31am Sem Chumbo:

Mellifluous, Stanley. Rolls off the tongue.
Avatar 4:32am Bill Mac:

@Stanley Titties and Beer
Avatar 4:36am Bill Mac:

@Fran Journey, REO, Styx already came up in two conversations I had witing the last 24 hours - neither in a complimentary way
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37am Stanley:

T&B was supposed to be ironic
Avatar 4:45am Sem Chumbo:

I have the fxo comp, too. Love it, especially loud.
Avatar 4:49am Jay/London:

Hey just checked the lotto won £ 3.20 .. hey bill i have to give up smoking as they found something on my lung .. good to have your show back :)
Avatar 4:50am Bill Mac:

@Jay yeah man, take care of that. These days it's best to keep things simple.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:03am Fran:

Ah... thanks Sem - will investigate
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:08am Stanley:

Ah, Queen when they were a rock band not a pop band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:08am Arne:

good morning all! great show. queen were my first musical love. and great they are!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:08am Fran:

Bill - there cannot be a conversation involving said bands which ends well unless they end.....
  5:15am P-90:

@Bill: Good point about Queen, "the sophomore album challenge" crushes a lot of bands
Avatar 5:18am Bill Mac:

Almost seems like another layer to explore - sophomore albums are generally scrutinized more than other releases.
Avatar 5:19am Sem Chumbo:

Missed Indian Giver whilst loading liquor beneath a sliver of a moon and a sky barely lightening in the east. Market day, and there was frost here overnight, But back for Ubu. Life is good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20am Fran:

Until next week everyone - I now have a car/tardis to pack with my very small luggage and my dearest's overpacking before going off to honk with Brian on the M5! Have a good week all
Avatar 5:20am Bill Mac:

@Sem - That's what the archive is for.
Avatar 5:21am Bill Mac:

You too Fran, safe travels!
Avatar 5:21am Sem Chumbo:

@Fran: see ya later, watch out for the locals.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:38am Stanley:

(Back from the washing up) Thanks for the heads up on the Pop Group in Edinburgh. The venue website says 'Then they blew themselves up and were gone…only to return 30 years later in 2009, showing what amazing potential was still burning there.' I have to admit I didn't know that.
Avatar 5:43am Bill Mac:

Seems they always come back, but some of these old coots still got something to prove
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55am Arne:

last song? really? it's been an entertaining morning! thanks for a great powerful set, bill.
Avatar 5:56am Bill Mac:

Hey Arne, I meant to say hello earlier but I got a bit tied up. Thanks for the kind words. Get on back soon, hear?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56am Stanley:

Thanks for the show, Bill.
Mrs S is always very kind and lets me listen to the end before cracking the whip.
Take care everyone.
Avatar 5:58am Bill Mac:
