Avatar 2:16pm Cecile:

hola, all. just back from a long staff meeting

Avatar 2:17pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

Mr. Lee Scratch Perry and cohorts
Avatar 2:17pm Cecile:

Duane, ever hear of a band called Opa?
Avatar 2:18pm Sem Chumbo:

Loving this.
Avatar 2:19pm Duane:

Hi Cecile. The pickles sound delicios. Good to see ya back around these parts. Opa the Jazz fusion band?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm common:

this is great!
Avatar 2:22pm Cecile:

Yeah! I heard a couple of tracks from them while I was browsing around YouTube the other day. Great percussionist. And I don't even like jazz fusion. They were definitely decent.
Avatar 2:23pm Duane:

Yeah Cecile, they had some jams. They were South African, so they had a BIG swing to them. good stuff
Avatar 2:23pm Cecile:

and yeah, you can make great sour dills in your fridge. No sterilizing necessary (but you want to make sure everything is real clean).
Avatar 2:23pm Cecile:

I thought they were from Uruguay?

Uncle D!
  2:24pm Mahavishnu:

Don't like jazz fusion?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm northguineahills:

I've done that before. I think I might put some chilies w/ the cucumbers this time.
Avatar 2:24pm Duane:

Cecile.: Yeah I meant to say South AMERICAN.
Avatar 2:25pm Cecile:

I am very, very, very picky about it.
And once there is a cheesy synth that is not meant to be humorous, I'm out of there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm northguineahills:

Other djs have been playing Duane's uncle lately.
Avatar 2:26pm Cecile:

hahahahhahahaha, Duane, with a name like that you never know.

I put some chiles in there, but not enough ngh.
Avatar 2:26pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

Oh I adore this track!
Avatar 2:27pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

a Sonia Pottenger (sp?) production!
  2:28pm Mahavishnu:

So Chick Corea would annoy you with his cheesy Return to Forever synth quality, but Zawinul might please with the organic tones he coaxed from his synths? And my man Jan Hammer was somewhere in the middle. I got ya.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm chris:

The Letta Mbulu track on your All the Way Live CD, Duane... is. the. bomb! I can't get enough of her.
Avatar 2:31pm Cecile:

that sounds about right, Mahavishnu.
Avatar 2:32pm Nick S.:

cRAZY! The Stepkids are unstoppable.
  2:32pm Mahavishnu:

Same with prog?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm fred:

Woah, wait! Where do long meetings end with homemade pickles instead of stale sandwiches? And where do I apply?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm common:

mmm, pickles. man, good cover!
  2:37pm Dinkytown Dawn:

Duane ... no Prince?
Avatar 2:38pm Duane:

Dinkytown: You the fuzz?? Never hoid of da' man!
  2:39pm Dinkytown Dawn:

Sign O' The Times!!!
Avatar 2:39pm Cecile:

Prog is also kind of iffy, although I have a great soft spot for King Crimson.

fred, it was a potluck lunch. We had to bring our own food. We were doing a "heritage" theme and asked to bring a dish reflecting our ethnic heritage. Since I grew up in bars, I was going to bring pickled eggs. But that was too much work, so I summored the Germanish part of my psyche and made pickles.
  2:43pm Yanni's Hair Dryer:

Anyone remember Charles Wright and the 103rd St. Watts Band? Did I dream that name up? I used to have an old 45 with a song called "Wine" on it that I dug.
Avatar 2:45pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

No Yanni, you did not, great music
Avatar 2:46pm Cecile:

Dinkytown! That's in my neck of the woods.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm northguineahills:

Haven't heard this cover before, it's works darn tootin'!
  2:52pm Dinkytown Dawn:

I just made the name up. I am a Dylan fan! It's me, Cecile ... Clay.
Avatar 2:52pm Cecile:

Hi, Clay!
Avatar 2:53pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

Another great show Duane, almost in the books...
Avatar 2:53pm Duane:

CLAY!!! Whats up?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm Guido from Cologne:

This sounds like MBV-inspired.
  2:53pm Pidge:

Hi Cecile. That was me with the prog/fusion questions. You hit a nerve and stirred me from my office torpor.
  2:54pm Pidge:

Been loving the show today, Duane. Helping me through another halogen-lit day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm fred:

@Cecile: I'll rescind my application then, any company that would ask for a sample of my cooking skills might run afoul of the CDC, and nobody wants that
Avatar 2:55pm Cecile:

I like some of it, but not most of it.
but this guy has a pretty decent YouTube channel here:
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Guido from Cologne:

... eeekit was a MBV cover ... read first Guido ...
Avatar 2:55pm Cecile:

hahahha, fred.
  2:55pm Pidge:

Wow ... for a minute I thought the intro to this Julie Tippetts was "Another Park Another Sunday" (Doobies) Same chords. Loving this and all the tracks. You're the best, Duane. Really.
Avatar 2:56pm Cecile:

fred, buying something at tha store also counts.
Avatar 2:56pm Sem Chumbo:

Good time, Duane. Thanks!
Avatar 2:56pm Cecile:

but the people who brought the rhubarb strawberry strudel and the Ethiopian samosas both need promotions
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Guido from Cologne:

Julie Tippett//Discroll !!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm northguineahills:

Another groovy Wednesday afternoon, thanks to his trainess!
Avatar 2:57pm Cecile:

did you know that Daryl Hall's high school vocal group beat the Delfonics in a talent show? I did not know that.
  2:58pm Pidge:

Fun Fakt! Mary Arnold beat Karen Carpenter for her spot in Kenny Rogers and the First Edition.
Avatar 3:00pm Cecile:

this is a great spin on the Spinners
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm chris:

Thanks, Duane! Yeah, what a show!
