love this soundgarden tune! hey chris!
  9:05am Barrie:

Sometimes we forget that Soundgarden was pretty awesome, because of all of Chris Cornell's other sins.

first time I've not disliked Soundgarden.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:08am common:

it's 1992!
Avatar 9:08am northguineahills:

The tail end of when the Pumpkins were still listenable. (this album was hit or miss, but the hits made it).

Great drum tones
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34am MD:

My brother lived in the same building as Kate for a while...He helped her with all these wig boxes after a central park show...he said: "It must be cool being a rock star!" She said..."Yeah!" and rolled her eyes at him...He said she was really nice and down to earth...I like the studio version of that song ...that's the "build up" I was taulkin about...
  10:38am matthias:

what an fabulous, great painting! from whoe is that?
Avatar 10:45am coelacanth:

Hello Chris, and imaginary people.
Avatar 10:48am coelacanth:

...i'm not often around here on a fri am. Now i see how traumatic it is, choosing between this and Doug S.
  10:50am P-90:

@coel: right?
Avatar 10:51am Chris M.:

listen to both streams simultaneously. they sync up perfectly and you get to hear the secret songs we've hidden.
  10:52am P-90:

...hmmm...never thought of that...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53am Greg from Bloomfield:

And the audio of both streams syncs up with the visuals of "The Wiz."
Avatar 10:54am coelacanth:

i will try that. ...all of that.
  10:55am seasnake:

Good tune!
Avatar 10:55am Sem Chumbo:

@GfB: now that you know the secret, I am afraid the Tri-Lateral Committee would like to have a word with you.
Chris: no problem, I don't speak English all that well, either;)
Avatar 10:57am tri lateral commission:

no need for words.
Avatar 10:58am bobdoesthings:

Wait a minute.... so you guys just keep having programming? like.. all day?
Avatar 10:59am Sem Chumbo:

MY tube radio operates in paleo-HD mode; the spirit image of Marconi appears on its screen, as well.
Avatar 11:02am Whosondephone:

Riff Tacular!!!
Avatar 11:02am coelacanth:

Chris -If Ken can do his show from a little boat on a lake, and Kenny G can do a show of only a short loop of a voice for 3-4 hours, you surely can conclude your program in that manner.
Avatar 11:02am Chris M.:

today's topic: what is your favorite ice cream?
Avatar 11:03am bobdoesthings:

Talenti Black Raspberry and chocolate chip
Avatar 11:04am coelacanth:

coffee; then mint chocolate chip....but i eat ice cream about 2X/year.
Avatar 11:05am Sem Chumbo:

Mussel/periwinkle with wads of lobster.
  11:05am P-90:

Wait, if everyone uses up their answers now, what's going to happen on Shut Up Weirdo?
Avatar 11:05am children:

  11:07am P-90:

Pistachio gelato and hazelnut gelato, side-by-side
Avatar 11:08am Chris M.:

@P-90: i heard they're doing "What was your best burp?" today
  11:09am P-90:

@Chris: Makes sense, good follow-up to "What was your best fart?" a couple of weeks ago.
Avatar 11:10am Chris M.:

@P-90: they keep using all my ideas
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10am Rick from SC:

I'm diggin' the 70's prog/metal set
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11am Mike East:

my almost 2 year old farted and said "fart" for the first time the other night. a very proud moment for us all.
Avatar 11:11am Chris M.:

stay tuned for a special announcement at the end of the show! it's a big surprise
Avatar 11:11am coelacanth:

P-90 really?
Chris M really???

...Yes, agreed with Rick.
  11:11am P-90:

Yeah, who IS this Skorpio guitarist?
Avatar 11:15am coelacanth:

P-90 i was "really"-ing to your ice cream flavours...Really?!
  11:15am P-90:

@coel: yeah, but I'm thinking of the pistachio gelato in Italy, not the bright-green, plastic-tasting American substitute
Avatar 11:17am coelacanth:

...were you watching me type?!
Yes,i've never had gelato that i've really liked, but the american perversion of it may have something to do with that.
  11:18am P-90:

Also, the pistachio/chocolate duo is just as good, depends on the mood. Or the season: Pistachio/hazelnut for Venice in the summer, Pistachio/dark chocolate for Rome in the winter...
Avatar 11:19am coelacanth:

...do i need to go to italy now?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19am common:

hell yea, unwound! saw them in seattle back in the day. one o' the best shows I've seen.
  11:20am matthias:

and i still don't know who the paintig from the eventual drowning seaman did.
Avatar 11:22am Chris M.:

@matthias: it's just something my neighbor painted last week and he gave it to me. his name is gus.
Avatar 11:23am coelacanth:

Yes that's an intense image.

Gus should sell those. i'm sure he could get 5 or 10 bucks!
Avatar 11:24am Chris M.:

he's actually been throwing them away. i found a similar one in the trash. i would have kept it but it had dog pee on it.
  11:28am P-90:

Tell Gus it's way cool how he combines 19th Century-style oils with digital-looking "energy wave" imagery. Tell him Moby might pay good money for something like this. Or trade some rad cassettes.
Avatar 11:28am coelacanth:

...mixed medium.
  11:29am matthias:

dog pee is not so bad. cat pee is worse. keep the painting. in 100 years you wil bet happy!
Avatar 11:30am coelacanth:

oils, laser printer, dog pee...he could throw some rolled oats on there, while the pee's still wet.
Avatar 11:31am Dr. Goot:

Warhol Pee Painting - oma-blog.pl...
  11:32am P-90:

Does Gus's dog have an agent yet?
Avatar 11:34am herb.nyc:

thanks for the TOWNES V.Z. i still remembering reading his obituary, on a very warm january 1 (2?), eating my lunch in central park. i always tell people his "time flies like an arrow but fruitflies like a banana" (tho i'm sure he didn't write it)
Avatar 11:37am coelacanth:

i had a relationship once with someone who gave me a painting, about 3 weeks into it,which utilised watercolors, pencil,& her own blood. She was intense!
Avatar 11:40am Sem Chumbo:

I married a woman like that once. Once she ran out of her own blood, she started using mine.
Unfortunately, she said, it was not blue enough for her.
Avatar 11:42am Neg-guh-tor:

I bought this Waves record at the thrift store yesterday!
Avatar 11:42am herb.nyc:

speaking of BLOOD, i just went on a weblink that talked of VINYL's resurgence. a pressing plant can put things, like sparkles, coffee grounds..., into the vinyl. but bodily fluids, nope, can't do it! good thing. (i donate blood often and this 1 person at red cross center knows me. i asked him, 15 or 20 yrs ago, "i know it's against rules but maybe i can have a sample of my blood?". and he gave me a very small vial. it's still in my fridge. last i checked, months ago, it was still fluidy)
Avatar 11:43am coelacanth:

Sem,that's probably fortunate!
Avatar 11:45am Sem Chumbo:

Coel, I was lucky to get away down a quart or so:-P
Avatar 11:45am coelacanth:

herb -coffee grounds? but Why?
Avatar 11:46am coelacanth:

Sem That's enough to start up again,no?!
Avatar 11:47am herb.nyc:

coffee grounds in vinyl? i don't know, maybe the president of starbucks was the customer.
Avatar 11:47am Sem Chumbo:

Yup, but pretty woozy for a while and had to have a temporary extra spleen installed to make up the shortfall.
Avatar 11:49am herb.nyc:

speaking of THE BATS, their show - with WILD CARNATION opening, was the day that the MAXWELL'S closing was officially announced. i came home from work and wfmu's SCOTT W was rambling on & on about the club. i immed'ly knew why.
Avatar 11:49am coelacanth:

Yes,i've got a few spleens in the back of the 'fridge for such occasions. Let me know if you ever need one again.
Avatar 11:50am Sem Chumbo:

What I could really use for the weekend is a nice fresh adrenal glad. Any chance?
Avatar 11:50am herb.nyc:

oh yeah, friend and i were at that bats / wild carnation show. so many heavenly moments, from *both* bands. we also traded maxwell's memories.
  11:51am bill:

i've had this ND song on my mind all week! youre are psychic!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52am fred:

Is "the feel of Neil Diamond" a subtle reference to the latest newsletter?
Avatar 11:54am coelacanth:

Sem sorry...i go through those like crazy!
Avatar 11:54am bobdoesthings:

great show chris thanks!!
Avatar 11:54am Sem Chumbo:

Oh, you!

You've been great, Chris!
Avatar 11:57am Whosondephone:

Avatar 11:58am Chris M.:
