Avatar 3:05pm

I have to say in the world of fake-fruit candy, you have your Dots, your SweeTarts, your Jolly Ranchers, but Starburst is still king!!!! om nom nom.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm

Avatar 3:06pm

this donut has purple in it. purple's a fruit.
Avatar 3:07pm

only if it tastes like fake berries. Fake grapes are THE WORST.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm
Scott Williams:

yo all o' ya! what're you talking about?
Avatar 3:10pm

Starburst candy. I bought some. I usually only eat it a Halloween.
Avatar 3:10pm

ugh fake grape IS the worst, blech.

Darrell Dave:

Yo Scott WUZZZZZZZZUP?!!!!!!
Avatar 3:11pm

that sounds awesome.
Jonathan Herweg:

Oh man ,love this.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:12pm

Hell is other people. Sartre had some issues.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:13pm

Sartre would have something to say about fake grapes... not sure what it would be, but it would probably be depressing to hear.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:16pm

Quick hello. Hello! Gotta get back to work now. Listening all afternoon. BTW, see @BkPirateWatch on Twitter if you want to know how many pirates are plaguing mid-Brooklyn & what they're playing.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm
Scott Williams:

Avatar 3:28pm

i like that JH. reasonably adendums to melodramatic philosophers should be a blog or twitter account or something.
Avatar 3:32pm
adrian in mpls:

hey sartre wasn't that bad of a guy - was in the french resistance, supported anti-imperialism efforts, etc. do i like all of his writings, no; but sometimes hyperbole is necessary....
Avatar 3:38pm
V Priceless:

Hey Scott, all! Eno tune taking me away from work...thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm

I could use a little quiet time by a river myself
Other People:

If you think the plays thesis is pure negativity consider this: Heaven is other people also.
Avatar 3:51pm
Chris from DC:

He's even great in Escape from New York.
Avatar 3:51pm

im pretty sure Sartre said heaven is People Like Us.

I'd like to comment on this comatose coma, as I agree w/ Rev's assessment.
Greek titan:

What happened to the Nardwuar show?
Avatar 4:09pm

Lamin++. FMU needs a new techno/related show for those of us who read Resident Advisor and the like and shop at Halcyon and Juno... even for an hour a week. its bizarre that that's pretty much all i ever buy and listen to and go see outside of FMU listening, and there's so little of it on the station.
Avatar 4:11pm

I liked how Lamin mixed danceable electronics with older modern classical electronic pieces.
Avatar 🎸 4:15pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

I was a late bloomer to the Lamin thing but seriously dug what I heard.
Avatar 4:18pm

I love this song. It's amazing.

Yes, Lamin's show was a great thing. Miss that. Hope he's doing very well, though, and is too busy for a show.

Scott Williams celebrity doppelgänger is Michael Ivens of the flaming lips
Avatar 4:40pm

I third the motion that I miss Lamin's show. He could of used a longer time slot to stretch his legs. You can only fit in so much in an hour when you play avant-garde/noise/good club music.

wow, snert, keep em coming. even tho you're pretty much entirely off!

Lol, Scott you kinda always reminded me of the dude from Wooden Shjips a bit.

That Brownout track was a solid cover.

im not good at this, but am dying to know who will play Andy Breckman in WFMU The Movie

A pleasing experience

AP Mike (best show) : stunt double for Daniel Johnston
Avatar 🎸 5:10pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

If Andy Breckman doesn't play Andy Breckman, I'm walking outta the theater before the film is even made. SO THERE.
Avatar 5:14pm

good point

Would Wfmu be better as a movie or a sitcom?
The Chicken That Want's To Tell Your Mother All:

The Chicken That Want's To Tell Your Mother All:

As a movie it would be like The Notebook. Or Titanic.
The Chicken That Want's To Tell Your Mother All:

As a sitcom it would be more like M*A*S*H*
Avatar 5:21pm

sitcom for the gratuitous laugh track.
Avatar 🎸 5:23pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar 5:27pm

i see the movie being more like Wayne's World or UHF.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm
Scott Williams:

a long time ago, Mike Lupica cast us in "Grease". I was Kenickie

If WFMU were a sitcom like M*A*S*H station manager ken would play Sherman T. Potter. Who'd play Klinger?
The Chicken That Want's To Tell Your Mother All:

If WFMU were a movie it would be like The Neverending Story
The Chicken That Want's To Tell Your Mother All:

Fabio would be Klinger

...if ahm gonna miss everything until AfterWerk - might as well come in on this Tonstartssbandht !
...Didn't Sartre come around to saying other people were his salvation by the end ? Existentialism is so generally misunderstood...which perhaps it wears well....

Scott's show is one of my favorites on FMU
Avatar 5:55pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...around when I 1st picked up on FMU - it struck me as totally about Kubrick's '2001' - which has primordial & modern bits - & Hal9000 - & completely psychedelic evolutionary bits...& then 'Clockwork Orange' creeped in...then I dropped the Kubrick thing...
Avatar 5:59pm
