I'd like to remember that I once had a loss of consciousness, but I belong to a world that's destroying itself.
Hiya, Scott, and other, sometimes conscious, listeners.
Avatar 3:07pm d¢ pät:

I like Annette Peacock.
  3:07pm Mark:

This track is the coolest thing I'v heard in a long time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm DCE:

oooh that hits the spot
  3:12pm Bruno:

Grande Caetano! Cheers from Brazil
Avatar 3:16pm PKNY:

I haven't listened to the first Funkadelic record in way too long. Gonna have to correct that with the quickness.

Avatar 3:26pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I _am_ a grilled cheese sandwich, suddenly.
Avatar 3:30pm fred:

Hey Rev.! I hope your record collection made it safely to the new Turnip mansion
Avatar 3:33pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Indeed, Fred. And it's amazing how much better records sound. Never underestimate the power of a room's SHAPE to enhance (or kill) zee musik.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm Andrew Waterloo:

I love the Dinger & Japandorf album
Avatar 3:44pm northguineahills:

I used to hate this Eno/Cale album when I bought it 20 years ago, it's has really grown on me.
Avatar 3:44pm fred:

@Jonathan: did that start before or after the latest Ergo Phizmiz release?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm Scott Williams:

Welcome all good pals!
  3:48pm rw:

I hated the Eno/Cale record too. But I agree. Somehow it sounds okay now. Maybe even good. Toe tapping at least.
  3:53pm Mark:

OMG this acid trip version of El Paso is probably the greatest record ever made.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Scott Williams:

agreed, Mark! "Gary" is Gary Panter
  3:54pm Marie:

Hi Scott, I sure wish I could have been at the Monty Hall's opening! (love the name). The record fair was so much fun. Vive! I like Eno's early solo work better than anything else he has ever done...
  4:03pm Mark:

I just looked up Gary--his illustrations are demented and fabulous
  4:04pm Mark:

Some day I hope to host a show on FMU called "Demented and Fabulous"
Avatar 4:05pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Delay-licious set, heah.

Suddenly, having very fond flashbacks of this lovely little toy:
Avatar 4:09pm Cheri Pi:

THIS sounds lovely.
Avatar 4:09pm northguineahills:

Is this an Amen break ruthlessly echoed and reverbed that has pummeled me down the drain?
  4:11pm rw:

Demented and Fabulous. I'd tune in for that one.
I met Gary Panter several years ago. Super nice guy as well as super talented. He was doing a project where you send him three words to free associate with to produce a drawing. The first 100 drawings were $25 or $50, the second 100 were $25 additional and so on. I have been wondering recently if he's still doing this project.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12pm Scott Williams:

@ngh, if it isn't you should do it, it's a great idea
Avatar 4:12pm d¢ pät:

ah! Ignatz, lovely.
Avatar 4:13pm northguineahills:

my tape echo was stolen from a club while dj 9 years ago in the Bowery :(
  4:15pm rw:

Oh, and I'm told that Bart Simpson is loosely based on Panter's Jimbo (notice the hair).
Avatar 4:16pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

WAAH, ngh -- very bad story.
I've regretted selling my space-echo (the oldie tape box, not the modern pedal forgery) since the moment it was sold.... The old beast's engine noise was louder than the FX, but it dinna matter...
Avatar 4:17pm Cheri Pi:

Avatar 4:19pm northguineahills:

mine was the korg model, had much fun w/ it.
Avatar 4:22pm Chris from DC:

Shoot, I missed Ought last week because of a freak storm that came through right when I was leaving for the show.
  4:32pm Marie:

I love this Ashes to Ashes, must check out that complilation.
Avatar 4:33pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

CfDC: I think we're about to get freaked again, if you dig...
Avatar 4:44pm Chris from DC:

Really digging this drone-ey Taiga Remains. Do I really have to buy a cassette? (I'll do it if I have to, but I haven't bought a cassette since Lou Reed's "Mistrial" in 1986.)

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm Scott Williams:

@Mark, it's actually an LP on Helen Scarsdale Agency
  5:48pm Mark:

Thank God. BTW, while I've got you here--since Donna's album obviously has "4 seasons of love," why didn't you play the summer one? Just wondering.
  5:48pm Apple Mint Juice:

Cool show bro!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm Davis:

this group like can dont they
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm Scott Williams:

@Mark - it's the probably obvious reason, haha. I don't like it
  5:51pm Mark:

This sounds like a bunch of mental patients (I meant that as a compliment). And then, of course, Sun Ra. This is a brilliant, brilliant program you're running.
  5:52pm Mark:

I never knew Tom produced any Sun Ra albums. Wow, he really got around, didn't he?
Avatar 5:54pm t_J:

afterall i have experienced in the last hours a season nostalgia instant change right now wouldn't seem so odd, considering summer's so recent

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...well - I was just listening to Terrance McKenna on Psychedelic Salon :

...talk about the relation between schizophrenia & shamanic insight (direct link to start audio) :
Avatar 6:02pm t_J:

that's like totally negative and old fashioned
Avatar 6:03pm t_J:

  8:09pm Thurston:

Thought it woudl be hard to top that Peacock opener, but Scott's line during a rare mic break of "I saw German people crying in the street yesterday. Turns out that's a good thing" should have been used as lyrics in the Peacock song.

Am I right, Helen? (From Tommy Boy movie and Beth Israel song)
