Avatar 12:14pm Cecile:

I just got tickets to the most metal show ever.
  12:15pm lake:

hey! which record is this version of anaconda on?
Avatar 12:15pm Cecile:

Neil DeGrasse Tyson.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15pm Stevel:

Melvins, keeping me in my chair. Bet they never thought their music would enhance productivity!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm chris:

Nice, Cecile!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm chris:

Three hours of Melvins today would be cool! :-)
Avatar 12:17pm Cecile:

I spent stupid money, but it's FUCKING NEIL DEGRASSE TYSON
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm chris:

I bet the wheel barrow full of cash for the tix goes to a nice home, too...
Avatar 12:18pm Cecile:

this sounds goofy, but I suddenly realized that Clutch sound like speeded up Melvins with dopier lyrics.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm Stevel:

I would not complain about 3 hours of Melvins. I might add to my pledge, in fact.
Avatar 12:19pm Cecile:

Yeah, or at least to a clandestine telescope dealer.
  12:19pm V Priceless:

Hey Diane! Non-stop Kamikaze Klassicks today! Woo!
Avatar 12:21pm Cecile:

Wizardry! Falconer! High drama! Power metal!
Avatar 12:21pm Diane Kamikaze:

Hello All!~ Solo Kamikaze today, thanks for tuning in!!! @lake: those Melvins tracks are all from the Live At Third Man Records release!
Avatar 12:21pm Cecile:

slowed down power metal
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm common:

@chobro: think so
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32pm chris:

German is a good language for metal... Come to think of it... all Northern European languages kind of kick ass for metal vocals, don't they? Hmmm
Avatar 12:33pm V Priceless:

was checking out free stream of King Buzzo's new solo acoustic record - pretty solid stuff, as one might expect!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm Stevel:

The relief sculpture Friede sei mit Dir, also known as the cock of Berlin is a work of art by sculptor Peter Lenk. It is located in Berlin at the building of the editorial staff of German newspaper taz. Wikipedia

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm chris:

It seems "Friede Sei Mit Dir" means something like "Peace be with you"
Avatar 12:36pm Cecile:

I wonder why?!??!?!?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm common:

@vp: i love king buzzo. what's his record called? guess i can look that up.
Avatar 12:40pm Cecile:

oh, YES!
Avatar 12:40pm V Priceless:

@ common; "This Machine Kills Artists"...Woodie Guthrie word play, no doubt!
Avatar 12:42pm Cecile:

what changed your mind about Agalloch, Diane? Am I remembering correctly that they were not a favorite of yours for a while?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm coelacanth:

stevel -That's hilarious! ..I'm confused as to why it's called "peace be with you".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm common:

thanks vp!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:49pm Stevel:

coelacanth: It is an impressive piece of work. Obviously a bit tongue in cheek (perhaps literally.) Not something you'd often see outdoors in the US.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50pm chris:

"piece" be with you?
Avatar 12:50pm Diane Kamikaze:

Hey Cecile! Not really a change of mind. I've played them sporadically over the last 12 years, just don't own any of their stuff and I find that for me, mp3s,., get lost or forgotten. WFMU has a hard CD copy of this record so it's just in front of me to check out instead of a text reminder. I hate downloads and that stuff. I'd much rather sift through artwork, albums, 7"s and CDs. So much music I forget about because I have only downloaded it and have no workable way to really put it into existence again after playing it once or twice.
Avatar 12:52pm Cecile:

That makes sense. I try to rip mp3s from discs, and am pretty careful with my mp3 purchases for the same reason - they stick in my mind a whole lot better.
Avatar 12:53pm Cecile:

and i'll bet that Agalloch album packaging is great, because the mini version for the CD is pretty dang nice
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm coelacanth:

- That's why i think it's hilarious...I imagine that going up anywhere in the united states of puritan, and the outrage,& inevitable destruction or removal of it. (i guess i'm amused when people who deserve to be shocked get shocked!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm Stevel:

Nothing says political commentary like a 5-story segmented erection.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm coelacanth:

Avatar 1:04pm Cecile:

on that note:
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm Stevel:

Hey, who's this?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm Rectitude:

Avatar 1:05pm PKNY:

Avatar 1:06pm Chris from DC:

VOIVOD! Soon all their songs will be clicky starred.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm Todd76Pct:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm chris:

Doomy goodness! Gooey in the middle with a metallic crust! Yum.
Avatar 1:53pm Cecile:

Avatar 1:57pm T_Jay Pauli:

Hello Diane.. thanks for the mighty Candlemass
Avatar 1:58pm Cecile:

Diane do you have that album where soft pink whatever (guy from Matmos) turns black metal anthems into techno-house? Both the Venom and Darkthrone covers were both funny and pretty cool.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58pm chris:

Big fan of the tempo change in metal... this El Dopa track is a great example.
Avatar 1:59pm V Priceless:

wondering if the hammer of doom is of the claw or ball-peen variety? Gotta be claw, I'm thinkin'
  1:59pm r i s k y:

Avatar 1:59pm Cecile:

ball peen. hehehehehehe
I am nine.
Avatar 2:00pm T_Jay Pauli:

i was focusing on an idea for an article: diy musicians - the nobility within / or something like that
Avatar 2:00pm Chris from DC:

Sledgehammer I'd say.
Avatar 2:01pm V Priceless:

hmm..good one, Chris...didn't think of that!
Avatar 2:03pm T_Jay Pauli:

am i the only 1 who thinks WFMU is kinda lacking some journalism (gonzo preferably), other than the cool and well constructed tapes on terror issues
Avatar 2:03pm Chris from DC:

Though claw has a certain nastiness...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm common:

white mice! he providence!
Avatar 2:04pm V Priceless:

is "peen" a word? or only when used in conjunction with the aforementioned "ball"? Too distracted to research
Avatar 2:05pm T_Jay Pauli:

spit like the Wind reports of matter .. where's Rodman?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm chris:

That has to be one of the greatest punny titles, ever: Missandthrowpiss
Avatar 2:08pm T_Jay Pauli:

i would add "NOT" in the end without space
