Mike East:

ok, so here's a tech question for the boards...Flash player has died on my computer for unexplained reasons. I am able to listen to the main fmu stream via a link that someone posted for me a while back as a workaround to get wmp to work. Is there a similar link that will work for the GTDR stream? the link is this: wfmu.org...

I'll take my answer off air, thank you.

Falzone makes me think calzone. Mmmmm, calzone. (Sorry, James, I'm sure you heard that a million times.)
Avatar 7:12pm
Jesse K:

@Mike, unfortunately I can't help with that one though Doug might know...

ZONE!

Doug Schulkind:

@Mike East
Don't know of any other link to hear the stream. Did you try dumping the page with the flash player and then restarting? Sometimes it gets hung up when one show switches to another.

davex:

Try the MP3 link - that should lead to a non-flash player.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm
Mike East:

nah, I know that error...this is something new that just started today. keeps telling me adobe flash plugin has crashed...they just did some crap with the computer's here (at work) and I think this may be related. Thanks, though, Doug. Hopefully I can get back on board soon. Cheers.

Groovin' on the gamelan!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21pm
Doug Schulkind:

Yeesh, so sorry, Mike. An email to Kenzo might reveal a solution. Or try the WFMU Stream Team: wfmu.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm
Mike East:

@davex - that one gives me a dumb error...something about not recognizing the .pls file extension...something about a codec...I dunno. That was the error that prompted someone to give me the link above which works, but only for the main stream
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24pm
Mike East:

no doubt. Thanks Doug.

Gamelan recorded by the great Robert Brown! I've heard a lot of javanese music.....not sure anything can beat the 3 he made back in the 70's. Nice show so far, J-man,,!!!

davex:

Mike: Okay, copy the location of the link to the MP3 and paste it into another player. For Itunes, you can first do ctrl-u and paste it in there.

Jesse K:

thanks !.!!! we were just commenting on that series and their various repackages over the past 30 years
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:38pm
Mike East:

@davex - only player I have is wmp on this 'puter...and it doesn't like the .pls. Appreciate the suggestion, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:42pm
davex:

@Mike: Okay, one last suggestion - you can download VLC media player and run it there. It's a good, simple program for media, in any case.

1750 arch released that nancarrow? awesome - never knew that. i didn't know they released stuff - something for me to look into tomorrow! Or pull an all-nighter starting now ;) That's CNMAT, btw: the electronic music "department" (it's a stand-alone massive house!) of UC Berkeley. Beautiful building; and lots of cold beer.

Well, I know it's officially spring when I get three spider bites on my thigh and 2/3rds swell up. Happens about thrice each summer. (Last year it was my hand and later my ankle).
