Avatar 12:03pm V Priceless:

DIANE!!! (hey)
Avatar 12:03pm Luna:

Greetings! Good to be back.
Avatar 12:04pm Cecile:

viva le rock! And the colorscheme matches my Tyga avatar
Avatar 12:12pm V Priceless:

Hey Diane - any chance of corralling Michael Bruce for a future Peer Pressure segment? Would love to get his take on why he is completely missing from the "Super Duper AC" doc, so rumor has it (I haven't seen it yet, though I was put off by this info). Seems the man gets no respect from the AC inner-circle, I swears!
  12:18pm GG Allin Thicke:

Good day all!
Avatar 12:18pm fred:

@Cecile: Many metal bands have sinned against graphic design as well, though they tend to favor winter instead
Avatar 12:19pm Cecile:

I love this particular sin against graphic design as it's quite OTT and hilarious. Sort of like a very lo-budget David LaChapelle.
Avatar 12:20pm Cecile:

Iron Diogs.
Avatar 12:21pm V Priceless:

I mean, I suppose one can't rule out questionable documentary film-making, plain and simple, but that seems like a stretch in view of such a glaring omission.
Avatar 12:22pm Cecile:

I'd wait to hear more. You never know how a film is going to end up.
Avatar 12:24pm V Priceless:

well..it's out on DVD this week, believe it or not, after a very limited run in select theatres! Maybe MB is on some bonus footage! Ha!
Avatar 12:25pm Cecile:

oh - didn't know that it was at that point.
That does sound like a big omission.
Avatar 12:25pm Cecile:

funny swans. funny funny swans.
  12:30pm JJ Koczan:

Still a little strange having Swans back, like any second Michael Gira's gonna pull the rug out from under the whole thing and be like, "Sike! Back to alt-country." Though Angels of Light was pretty badass at times as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31pm common:

@cecile: they still scare me...and it's great!
Avatar 12:40pm Luna:

Avatar 12:40pm Cecile:

You are playing Agalloch. Are you warming to them?
Avatar 12:44pm joshS:

is it a play on words on Pantera's "reinventing the steel".?
like "steel whool"...
  12:45pm JJ Koczan:

That's it. The last one.
Avatar 12:45pm V Priceless:

Yes!! Thursdays continue to rule, unchanged!
Avatar 12:45pm Luna:

Awesome. Woooo.
Avatar 12:46pm Luna:

"kock-zahn" ... ha, sorry
Avatar 12:47pm Cecile:

"charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent"
Avatar 12:47pm Diane Kamikaze:

Thanks JJ! Sorry for the early mangle. I am good at that. I enjoy mangling band names publicly, personal names not so much... :)
Avatar 12:47pm Cecile:

thank you, RuPaul.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:49pm Stevel:

My God, Cunts are good, if not completely vulgar.

Segue to Off! Making me less productive by the minute!
Avatar 12:50pm fred:

I'm clueless about Swans. I only learned about them a few years ago, liked the early records, saw them live and hated the theatrics. I don't get it. I know people who worship Michael Gira, then again they despise Kathleen Hanna, so we're even
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52pm Stevel:

fred: Also clueless re. Swans. Anyone have a suggestion of where to start? Why to care? I'm all ears.
Avatar 12:53pm Cecile:

fred, I liked the first couple of records. The one time I saw them, me and some friends bailed 1/2 way to get fried chicken down the street. We never regretted it.

That first EP Swans I think is still pretty good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm Stevel:

This set is going to make it difficult to make my 1 pm meeting. Pity, as I'm leading it.
Avatar 12:53pm Luna:

Ha, nice doggie photo.
Avatar 12:54pm V Priceless:

dig this Shrines sound
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm common:

i agree, cecile. stevel: i also dig the last swans record, although, i know cecile will start chuckling.
Avatar 12:55pm Cecile:

It was pretty hilarious.
Avatar 12:55pm fred:

I'm off to see a show, keep rocking everyone (as if you needed my prompting)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm Stevel:

Swans=a bit self absorbed? (Not the greatest of rock sins.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm Stevel:

Gotta go! Shame to leave y'all like this.
Avatar 12:57pm Cecile:

more than a bit.
  1:01pm RH:

Favorite Swans records - Love of Life and White Light From the Mouth of Infinity. Then maybe Soundtracks for the Blind.
Avatar 1:03pm Luna:

oooh, totally digging this Skull Defekts.
Avatar 1:07pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar 1:12pm V Priceless:

Avatar 1:19pm Luna:

Avatar 1:24pm Cecile:

away is awesome.
When i set my house security system to "away" every morning, I smile.
Avatar 1:29pm Cecile:

where to start with Phantom Limbs? I've liked everything I've heard from them, but don't know anything about them.
Avatar 1:30pm V Priceless:

this LG is smokin' ! Great sound!

Avatar 2:18pm V Priceless:

@ Cecile - nice one! @ risky - I know the feeling - it was exactly 2 weeks ago literally to the moment I was going thru the same situation! Ugh!
Avatar 2:22pm Cecile:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm common:

where's ken? sorry risky.
Avatar 2:24pm PKNY:

Rockabye Sabbath is pure genius.
Avatar 2:24pm Cecile:

can I say this is adorable?
Avatar 2:25pm V Priceless:

this is great!
Avatar 2:25pm JakeGould:

Is that supposed to be “Children of the Grave?” I don’t hear it.
Avatar 2:25pm Luna:

Damn, this is making me nappy.
  2:25pm JJ Koczan:

There has to be a German word for the emotion you feel when listening to lullabye Sabbath. Something that encompasses happy and sad and somehow warm on the inside.
Avatar 2:27pm Cecile:

I just made that one up.
  2:29pm JJ Koczan:

It's a good one!
Avatar 2:29pm Cecile:

and sorry you're not feeling great, risky.
Avatar 2:30pm Cecile:

Avatar 2:31pm Cecile:

wow this singer sounds like Bob Pollard. never noticed it before.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm common:

i was gonna say, cecile...is it bob?
Avatar 2:34pm Sem Chumbo:

@JJ Koczan 2:25: you may find this of interest.www.dictionaryofobscuresorrows.com
Avatar 2:35pm d¢ pät:

not Pollard...
Avatar 2:35pm V Priceless:

wow..Phantom Tollbooth..another blast from the past...they were cool!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:36pm common:

thanks, dc pat. coulda fooled me. in fact, did.
Avatar 2:36pm d¢ pät:

ha! From wiki: In 2003, Guided by Voices frontman Robert Pollard created new lyrics and melodies for Phantom Tollbooth's 1988 album Power Toy.[3] The resulting work was released as Beard of Lightning.
Avatar 2:37pm Cecile:

pretty uncanny likeness. Never noticed it before. Been a long time since I heard the Tollbooth.
Avatar 2:37pm Cecile:

Really? that's wild!
Avatar 2:37pm InBrkly:

Picked a great time to tune in!
Avatar 2:38pm d¢ pät:

yeah, I never knew that but what a freakin coincidence??
Avatar 2:38pm InBrkly:

much love for the Texas version of the Birthday Party haha.
Avatar 2:38pm d¢ pät:

Avatar 2:39pm Cecile:

that is so cool. I'll have to check it that record out.

LOVE the SCRATCH ACID. that was a scary band live.
Avatar 2:40pm InBrkly:

bummed I missed their reunion gig last year.
Avatar 2:40pm d¢ pät:

anybody see that OFF! video with Yow in it? Funny.
Avatar 2:40pm d¢ pät:

I saw reunion, hardly anybody there...but they were great.
Avatar 2:45pm d¢ pät:

speaking of people sounding like people, this sounds like Keith Morris!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm common:

i wanna see that, dc pat!
Avatar 2:48pm d¢ pät:

warning: mildly disturbing and not really safe for work.

Avatar 2:50pm Chris from DC:
