A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Avatar 9:28am bobdoesthings:

Oh man.. forgot it was tuesday! Morning troublers
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28am sugarwolf:

I always thought it was interesting that Chris Ofilli's art was the controversial piece in NYC but when the show had been in London, it was the Myra Hindley piece that caused the most controversy.
Avatar 9:34am Trouble:

indeed sugarwolf, offense grows along different vines
Avatar 9:39am listener mark:

Hello from Bloomingburgish, NY
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:40am Webhamster Henry:

I was there for the kerfluffle and the "protest" outside the Brooklyn Museum - with baby Ada! People wore "Hello" tags proclaiming "Hello My Name is ART"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42am Webhamster Henry:

It's also the 100th anniversary of Hugh LeCaine's birth. He was a Canadian synthesizer and multi track pioneer, the same era as Moog and Raymond Scott.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43am Guido from Cologne:

"days are hanging like weeping willows,
clasp you tight and won't let you free"
... kinda autumn song by Hilde Knef.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:45am Webhamster Henry:

If you want to go back to Swedish, play something from Nu Blir Sommar (because.. nu blur sommar) or Moomin Voices by Johanna Grussner and Mika Pohjola.
Avatar 9:48am bobdoesthings:

now Yasiin Bey..
Avatar 9:49am bobdoesthings:

I'm at work, but I'm blasting the Mos Def because WHY NOT.
Avatar 9:50am Brian in UK:

Hello my name is ART Garfunkle and if your mobile goes off whilst I am singing I will leave the stage in a huffy manner. I used to have hair like that.
Avatar 9:52am ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

When I was living with roommates, one of them had a cat named Frifri. This song and the cat have zero in common. Just saying.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08am Guido from Cologne:

Makes me remember that Sun Ra was one of the very few "real jazz men" who seriously appreciated the Exotica works of Les Baxter. And sometimes you can hear "quotations" or hints and (anyway in the late 50ies/early 60ies recordings) influences from that exotica world.
  10:11am blue:
