Avatar 3:58am Bill Mac:

@Sorry Jay I missed it - I know I was on the hunt for the Blondie cut, but I think I wanted the first and last times on the collection to be rounded or some such nonsense. The hazarrds of being too close to a project. Glad you're on top of it though. There were a few tracks I had to make a choice on like that
Avatar 4:03am Jay/London:

@ bill yes I understand it can not be easy to do something like that i loved 2.30 the princess machine !
  4:06am Gunther:

Avatar 4:22am Bill Mac:

Ugh, what did you do?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23am mauri:

Bill, could control a hefty lottery win for me thanks a bunch
Avatar 4:24am Brian in UK:

Been digging all week, but I just bent down to pick something up just now. You know the straw that broke.........
Avatar 4:24am Bill Mac:

@Mauri I could use a win myself...
Avatar 4:27am Bill Mac:

@Brian - It always ends up being the least significant move, like bending over to pick up keys.
Avatar 4:28am Jay/London:

@ Brian Yes Got There saw edwin collins and adam ant collins was great had a good band with him ant was a bit off key I could not get into any of the stores q s wentround block did not know where they ended and people started guess i got there too late the streets were just mobbed
Avatar 4:29am Brian in UK:

Bill, got to say Mike Watt is copacetic. Played the whole of The Hyphenated Man with the trio. Then some more. He looked totally knackered at the end. So intense but still fun. Last words were 'John Coltrane, End of tour' Then JC comes on the PA.
Here is the tour diary, two months so it is lengthy.
Avatar 4:30am Brian in UK:

Jay, Paul Weller was well pissed off when his music was selling on EBay hours after RSD. It is turning some people off.
Avatar 4:33am Brian in UK:

I will have to get my Thai bride to walk on my back later.

Is this Icicle Prog?
Avatar 4:33am Bill Mac:

@Brian Have you ever checked out Watts' show? Starts every one with a Coltrane track
Avatar 4:33am Jay/London:

@ Brian Yes i know why people do that still it is not right
Avatar 4:34am Bill Mac:

Yes it is as a matter of fact...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:36am mauri:

hehe what a bass sound.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37am Rectitude:

Lol it always makes me hlaugh
Avatar 4:38am Bill Mac:

@Mauri Found that record for 2 bucks back before people got caught up in the whole Beatles controversy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38am mauri:

hmm I wonder if therse any perch in the fishtrap. Is it time to sing Slurf Song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40am mauri:

Had to listen to them from my dads record collection. The artwork caught my eye.
  4:45am P-90:

I remember the "Klaatu = Secret Beatles?" craze
Avatar 4:54am Brian in UK:

Bill, I found the inherent knowledge and intelligence refreshing, especially as there was no bombast or showing-off during the set or in the tour diary.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:02am mauri:

Time to run. Have a great saturday everybody!
Avatar 5:02am Bill Mac:

@Brian - The entire Minutemen documentary is on youtube. It only run about 90 minutes but it's a nice inside look at the band together. www.youtube.com...
Avatar 5:03am Looms:

Very nice Sparks.
Avatar 5:03am Bill Mac:

Later Morris!!! good weekend and happy travails!
Avatar 5:06am Brian in UK:

Big Star
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:07am Stanley:

Hi Bill and everyone.
I'm finally up - late and shakey.
Actually tried to emerge earlier but it was definitely unwise to do so.
Felt like a pig shat in my head.
Avatar 5:08am Looms:

I watched the Minutemen documentary a couple weeks ago; some very nice moments indeed (the way D. Boon & M. Watt met, M. Watt purchasing his first bass guitar...)
Avatar 5:09am Brian in UK:

Bill have you seen this Zappa bicycle madness
Avatar 5:09am Looms:

Hello sleepyhead Stanley
Avatar 5:10am Bill Mac:

@Stanley Wakey wakey! Slow and steady...
Avatar 5:17am Brian in UK:

Wake it and shake it.
Wag it and shag it. (Henry Fonda in Sometimes a Great Notion)
Avatar 5:20am Bill Mac:

Henry Fonda actually said that?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20am Stanley:

The great brain in the sky says:
'wag it' - take a pee
'shag it' - zip it up

A bit relieved, thought it meant something else.
  5:25am P-90:

Ken Kesey wrote it, Henry spoke it
Avatar 5:25am Brian in UK:

It was Ken Kesey's second book after Cuckoos Nest. One of Fonda's last. I was trying to find a quote but it has to rely on my memory.
Avatar 5:27am Brian in UK:

Kesey, one of your great writers who got sidetracked.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29am Stanley:

Bit of a crash landing this morning.
Drank too many 'Celtic Margaritas' last night. A bit like aviation fuel and I can't that ol' stuff like I used to.
(reaches for the paracetamol)
  5:29am P-90:

'tis the Man in Black
Avatar 5:30am Jay/London:

johnny cash love this track but not sure why
Avatar 5:31am Bill Mac:

I wonder how he would feel about these dubby versions of his tunes
  5:35am KP:

That was quite a Johnny Cash song. Did you say it was called Big Bottom?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:36am Stanley:

That's cool Bill. So long as we have the 'Organs' to bring us back on the level.
Avatar 5:36am Brian in UK:

Jay looks there was a queue round the block of the shop I was going to visit in Amersham.
Nearly all blokes.
Avatar 5:37am Brian in UK:

Talk about bum cakes my girls got 'em.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41am Stanley:

Brian, Amersham-on-the Hill. I recognised it straight away. Used to be one of my haunts when I was a teenager.
Avatar 5:42am Brian in UK:

Stanley, bit la-dee-da around there.
  5:43am KP:

Bill I saw Jordowoski's Dune last night. Recommend it very highly. One of the best things I've seen ever. All about artistic integrity and belief in self.
Avatar 5:44am Jay/London:

@ brian it was not all blokes there about 50/50 stiil too long to get in
Avatar 5:46am Bill Mac:

@KP I've never seen Dune before, based on critical opinion. Is it as bad as all that?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47am Stanley:

Nowadays, I suppose.
Back in the day, it was just another boring town like Beaconsfield, where we lived. Amersham did have an Indian restaurant though!
Avatar 5:47am Brian in UK:

Do you remember the speed that you could flick through a section of LPs on a rickety Our Price rack.
Avatar 5:48am Jay/London:

@ Brian Oh yesss I do
Avatar 5:49am Brian in UK:

Stanley, I grew up in Harrow so we were not a blue million miles apart.
Avatar 5:51am Brian in UK:

Cookin' show as ever, Bill.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52am Stanley:

Graffiti on the Earl of Beaconsfield pub toilet wall - Were you brought up in Eton or eaten and brought up?
  5:53am KP:

I did see Dune and yes it is bad. But this is about a version of Dune that never got made. An incredibly high art concept of a sci-fi movie as envisioned and meticulously story boarded by the director of the midnight movie classic El Topo.
  5:55am KP:

Doesn't sound like it but it is incredibly funny. And moving.
Avatar 5:56am Bill Mac:

It does seem compelling enough to see.
Avatar 5:57am Bill Mac:

Gotta go folks, stay dry, enjoy the week, and buy new sneakers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57am Stanley:

This track is so sad.
Avatar 5:58am Brian in UK:

@KP sounds a bit like Terry Gilliam making his film about the making or not of Don Quixote.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58am Stanley:

Well, I got a good hour of sounds and chat, so my Saturday has started all right after all. Bill, you're there when we need you.
Thanks and have a great weekend.
And same to all.
Avatar 5:58am Jay/London:

thanks bill now to work and stuff see you all next week
  5:58am Kirill:

Hi! I'm listening you in Siberia now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59am Guido from Cologne:

Thanks for another beautiful Saturday morning soundtrack Bill!
Avatar 6:00am Bill Mac:
