Hola, all!
Avatar 12:08pm Duane:

Hi Cecile!!
  12:12pm Cecile:

That intro was sick. Sounded like the purple one
Avatar 12:12pm Cheri Pi:

Hey Duane, Duaniacs. looking forward to this.
  12:13pm Adolph's Meat Tenderizer:

Hard Meat? I don't think so. Not while I'm around.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm adam_nspy:

Avatar 12:21pm kirk from beer city usa:

  12:26pm Viagra:

STFU, Adolph.
Avatar 12:31pm ironybread:

Today's show is a great reminder that I need to get Arto's "Invoke" and "Salt"...I got "Aggregates" last month after not having heard it since college. Squishy and lovely.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm Mike East:

is that italian? spanish? portuguese? It translates so well!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm Gaylord Fields:

@Mike East: Italiano.
  12:38pm Cecile:

Rap used to be that way. The cream rose to the top.

One of my Arto stories included when I was setting up the turntables downstairs at tonic, and Arto complimented me on my gory Dinosaur Jr tee-shirt. Got to sneak out of my gig to see him play.
  12:48pm Laura L:

Fantastic to have Arto Lindsay on. Last saw him in NYC at Tonic too, long time ago now. Where will he play in July?
Avatar 12:48pm Neg-guh-tor:

We're you a little starstruck, Duane? You sound verbally constipated. Good interview, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51pm mariano:

@Mike: Title means "anyone who has a heart"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52pm robyn:

arto lindsay talking about d'angelo (!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm common:

missed out on so much because of stupid work. archive city.
Avatar 12:56pm northguineahills:

I once saw Arto Lindsey w/ Dj Spooky and Anti-Pop Consortium collaborate together mixtape style at Maxwells in 2001. That show blew my mind. Noise and hiphop and other beats killing it.(plus pop and touch of tropicalia).
  1:08pm Cecile:

This is great, but dang I gotta finish stuff up. Maybe I can swing back later
Avatar 1:11pm northguineahills:

Thanks Duane, awesome interview!
Avatar 1:33pm Jeff:

Avatar 1:38pm Jeff:

Did someone say "sweet axe"?

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40pm Mike East:

someone get that man some wirecutters!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Gaylord Fields:

Did someone say "bad axe"? Because that is one boss lid Duane is rocking!

Avatar 1:43pm Jeff:

He's a stylish man.
Avatar 1:44pm coffeeCola:

Hi Duane, good to have you back!
I just saw Laura Mvula last night and she seems right up your alley:
Ever heard of her before?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm Mike East:

yeah, that's no $5 street hat, that's legit.
Avatar 1:46pm Jeff:

That set sounded so good.
Avatar 1:46pm northguineahills:

Damn, great sounds!
Avatar 1:46pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

Great set indeed...
Avatar 1:47pm Duane:

Laura Mvula's on my radar :) good rec!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm common:

very pleasing set!
Avatar 1:54pm Duane:

My Brim game has to be on point in my neighborhood. Those old Jamaican and Dominican men are serious:) They'll give you style tips inthe street if they catch ya slippin!! Truth!
Avatar 1:54pm still b/p:

Some of that Stevie track was sounding a little like Ode to Billie Joe. Or have I gone right off the bridge?
Avatar 1:55pm Duane:

still b/p: No I definitely hear some "Ode to Billie" in the melody.
Avatar 2:02pm kirk from beer city usa:

can't believe we haven't heard Cameo yet...
Avatar 2:05pm Duane:

kirk: Not too obvious??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm Sigurdur:

I once met a older german fellow, whom barely spoke english but he could pretty much rap rhapsody delight, pretty accurately and sounding good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm Gaylord Fields:

@Duane: I know those men, or their equivalents in my vicinity and even in my family. They will reach all over you unbidden just to tighten up your pocket square. I owe them huge.
Avatar 2:08pm kirk from beer city usa:

word 'em up!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm common:

nice, duane. one of arto's faves.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Music to change passwords by.
Avatar 2:10pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

Nice edit
  2:10pm alan:

finally online...listening from Mexico City. I will have to wait to listen to the archive for the first two hours I missed!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm mariano:

@Sigurdur: It's amazing how singing allows someone to adopt a foreign accent perfectly. I remember hearing this guy years ago in France, standing on a corner, tapping his foot, playing harmonica, and singing in a beautiful baritone blues voice, perfect accent. I asked him What part of the States are you from, man? Turns out he was born and bred Parisian, pretty heavy French accent when speaking English.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm Parq:

Word Up reminds me, just want to note that Lonnie Holley will be performing at Word Up Books in Washington Heights tonight. This is a great little bookstore, exactly the kind that WFMU folks would want to support. And it's Lonnie Holley. Nuff said.
  2:13pm djelrock:

Man this takes me waaaay back. Excellent.
Avatar 2:15pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

Archived unless the Purple People get all worked up… ;)
Avatar 2:16pm Duane:

Jan: Yeah, the Purple one's essence still pervades throughout the show..still too close!!!
Avatar 2:19pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

Yeah, I wonder who "tattled" on FMU
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm robyn:

wait ...is that particular tribute no longer archived? lol how is that possible...is he recruiting his street team from the nsa?
Avatar 2:20pm Duane:

robyn: Yeah the "3rdeye" sent a lil letter from the gov't the other day..we opened it and read it, he said we were SUCKAS!!
Avatar 2:21pm ironybread:

What's Arto's t-shirt say?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm Sigurdur:

Yeah Mariano,,, the worlds great artform brought too one in the form of soundwaves..
  2:24pm djelrock:

Do I detect a whiff of MC Solaar in this sample; plus a bunch of other good shit. Damn!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm robyn:

that's nuts. and sad. it was a loving tribute!
Avatar 2:27pm Duane:

DJ Elrock: Yeah, that's Premo doing the biz!!
Avatar 2:31pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

This is what Google translate made of the title of this track "Mr. Rossi seeks the gurgling" Ha!
Avatar 2:32pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

But it's really "Mr. Rossi seeks happiness"
  2:32pm lulu:

I like the French stuff
  2:33pm djelrock:

Cool Duane. I'm gonna hav to look his shit up. That was 2dope.
Avatar 2:33pm still b/p:

I have gurgled when happy. And will again.
Avatar 2:37pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

Gurgling with happiness!
Avatar 2:38pm glenn:

gargle, gurgle.
Avatar 2:39pm glenn:

swag!! more super hits of the 70's kills.
  2:41pm lulu:

: )
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Every 90 days, I must change work passwords. Many various web sites and applications. Duane's show makes that tedious task much more enjoyable.
Avatar 2:44pm Sem Chumbo:

I like the tracks this train rides on. Had a good time today as always, D. Thx and see ya next time.
Avatar 2:45pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

There you go Duane, password changin' music!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm robyn:

@Ken at least you were emotionally prepared for the "WHYYYYY" of Heartbleed, I guess. I'm still being lazy about changing all my pws...
Avatar 2:48pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

I got contradictory advice about Heartbleed, the Guardian said that one should wait to change passwords, but the NYT said do it right away… Hmmm
Avatar 2:51pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Missed a big chunck of this show, will have to catch up on the archive. Liking what I'm hearing in these last few minutes, though!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm robyn:

@jan i've been using this www.cnet.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm Gaylord Fields:

@Jan Audun Uretsky: The idea is not to change your password prematurely. Wait until you know that the site in question has patched the Heartbleed glitch. Otherwise, you're just leaving your new password exposed.
Avatar 2:53pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

@Gaylord, yes that's essentially what the Guardian said. So brits were correct!
Avatar 2:54pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

But then again they should know about hacking ;)
Avatar 2:55pm northguineahills:

Man, thanks again Duane. Enjoyed the Arto interview!
Avatar 2:55pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

Great show as usual Duane! You life my Wednesday's
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm robyn:

thanks duane! great show, great interview.
Avatar 2:55pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Sigurdur:

Snap,.,. is this heartbleed something for simple individuals tp worry about?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm Sigurdur:

OOyeah .þ ,,, Good show Duane
  2:58pm djelrock:

Thanks To YOU Duane!! Hav a good week broder!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm Gaylord Fields:

There are a lot of great musical ideas percolating under Duane's stylish fedora. I thank him for sharing three hours' worth!
Avatar 2:58pm Sem Chumbo:
