Sine waving in my chair.
Avatar 9:20am Sigurdur:

Hey Liz, does being sneezy result in a heavier bass sounding voice? otherwise how are doing?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:22am Liz Berg:

I'm not a big TV watcher, but I must admit I've been nerding out on the "Cosmos" special, which was wave-tastic last night.
  9:22am KP:

Happy Monday, Liz
Avatar 9:23am Sigurdur:

Freeman all the way
Avatar 9:26am SirGagarin:

Hi Liz and Lizteners, greetings from surprisingly sunny Central Poland.
Avatar 9:32am ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

How to improve Public TV: more Oldies fund-raising programs!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:44am Liz Berg:

Ha ha, it's really funny you mention that, David C! Ever since the internet really took root, public radio has been doing well while public TV has been in decline. You just tapped in to one of my theories about why that might be happening!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:44am Webhamster Henry:

Hi Liz! Public TV (and all public broadcasting) needs to remember its roots. It was set up to be funded by the government because there is programming that is important that cannot draw a commercial audience. Before Public broadcasting, networks used to have shows on "sustaining", sponsor less shows that they thought were worthwhile. There is, as you know, also a mandate for community service that is largely ignored or given lip service.
  9:46am david c:

liz - you made my day! - great show as always - thanks
  9:47am KP:

Speaking of nerdy tv, Silicone Valley on Hbo was kind of great. It's kind of Mike Judge's attempt at a live action Beavis
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51am Liz Berg:

I am interested in checking out that show, KP!
  9:54am KP:

It spoke to me
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58am Webhamster Henry:

in re: Public Broadcasting: look at provision #9: www.law.cornell.edu...
(9) it is in the public interest for the Federal Government to ensure that all citizens of the United States have access to public telecommunications services through all appropriate available telecommunications distribution technologies;

My spin on this: 100% subsidy for internet streaming for all public broadcasting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:01am Liz Berg:

That would be nice, Henry, but sadly I don't believe that would ever happen.
Avatar 10:02am ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Liz, thanks for playing this Spanish Post punk song. I just got back from LA last night and this is perfect.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:07am Liz Berg:

That Spanish post punk compilation is too good for words!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09am common:

Avatar 10:13am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Ha, interesting. Missed Thievery Corporation -- One of the most famous acts to come out of this town & I've yet to hear a single note of their stuff. Shirking my 'district duties...
Avatar 10:15am drumsoverbogota:

Good morning everybody!

Liz, may I ask, what does exactly 'new' means? Is new in WFMU? first time aired in your program?

Thank you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16am Liz Berg:

"new" means newly released (or newly acquired by WFMU).
Avatar 10:18am Rev. Turnip Druid:
