Hello Julie and fellow listeners. It's a rare night when the WiFi seems to be cooperating.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04am Julie:

That is the plan! I didn't get in on presales so I have to hope for luck Friday. She did add some dates
  3:07am Marmalade Kitty:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09am Guido from Cologne:

Avatar 3:11am Holly in NC:

Such a great song.
  3:11am P-90:

Hi Julie and all, I'll be trying my luck Friday too. And I'm fresh out of P-90 t-shirts so I can't send one to Kate...
Avatar 3:12am listener mark:

Hi Julie! Good luck on the tickets.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14am Julie:

Thanks, I'll need it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14am Guido from Cologne:

Siouxie doing Gary kind of, good idea!
  3:23am P-90:

Ciao Guido!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25am Guido from Cologne:

Good Morning P-90!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42am Guido from Cologne:

Avatar 3:46am C.S.:

Never heard of Howling Bells before. Cool.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56am Guido from Cologne:

Are you familiar with The Duke Spirit?
Roman Remains are one third of that band.

I don't know Duke Spirit split or just hibernate.
They made quite an impact in Hamburg.
Avatar 3:59am C.S.:

Normal people are sleeping. I resemble that remark.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02am Julie:

Only just now in looking them up, Guido. I will have to check them out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04am Guido from Cologne:

I have their Hamburg Reeperbahn live set in best quality.
If interested i can send you.
Duke Spirit work live better than on record.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05am Julie:

sounds great Guido! Roman Remains was also very dynamic live, Big Black Delta less so
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10am Guido from Cologne:

Liela Moss has such a presence on stage!
Duke Spirit were really compelling live.
I'll prepare a download-link and contact you when I'm finished.

Morning BGZ!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23am Julie:

the new E&B track is ridiculously long
  4:29am Mike Sin:

Well, it was nice to listen to some of the show in real time as I remove my make up and nail polish, but the time has come for me to put on my hair net and go to bed. Vaya con dios, mis amigos.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29am Julie:

wow how Numanesque is that
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30am Julie:

goodnight Mike Sin!
  4:32am Paul-berlin:

Morning Julie! Nice to hear a new ETB song...even though all the past few records have been wimpy and sounded all the same. But that track had a newish feel. I had to check the playlist as you played it cuz i thought oh, that sounds like ian but not really ETB, maybe he has a new solo. Thanks for that!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33am Julie:

Morning Paul!
Avatar 4:37am fred von helsing:

morning !
Avatar 4:38am fred von helsing:

Who is Trust ? Is there more than one ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38am Julie:

Morning Fred!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38am Julie:

It is mainly one guy I think
  4:40am Paul-berlin:

Like the Logan's Run image! Julie, i can recommend the first three Ultravox albums, when John Foxx was still leading the band! Much, much better thrn the Midge Ure pop.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:41am Guido from Cologne:

Good Morning Fred!

ANNA CALVI in Cologne was the first real PERFECT concert this year!
She's a goddess!
How was your's in Helsinki?
Avatar 4:42am fred von helsing:

didn't go. I've seen her twice and I hate the venue...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:42am Julie:

Okay Paul, will do. This is really the only one I know
Avatar 4:43am fred von helsing:

@guido the vid for suzanne and I is in regular rotation :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43am Guido from Cologne:

Paul is definitly right!
Avatar 4:44am fred von helsing:

I asked about Trust cos of this video that I lurrrv www.youtube.com...
  4:44am Paul-berlin:

Guido! U r a man of taste!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:47am Julie:

I really like him, been trying to get him in
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:47am Guido from Cologne:

which video exactly?

The venue in Cologne was the best for Anna this time.
You have to look up to her, not down a pit.
Sound was perfect, even text-comprehensible, which is a REAL sign of quality.
She included a lot of guitar improvisation, quite some variations on the songs.
Working on moods.
Avatar 4:50am C.S.:

Trust: The band was formed by Robert Alfons (of Winnipeg) and Maya Postepski (also of the band Austra). The pair met in late 2009, started writing songs together, and formed the band in January 2010. The duo insist that they are more than just an Austra side project. - Wikipedia
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50am Guido from Cologne:

Thank you Paul.

have to run shortly.
Will be back for Meghan.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50am Julie:

see ya Guido!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:52am Julie:

I don't think she's on the new album
  4:52am Paul-berlin:

And of course there are the first 3 or 4 john foxx soloo, they are also somethin' special!
Avatar 4:54am fred von helsing:

@guido "Egyptrixx Chrysalis Records (ft. Trust)". It has a female vocal so I wonder if that is Trust. Most of Egyptrixx is instrumental (and kinda dull).
Avatar 4:54am C.S.:

@Julie It says she left around 2012 to focus on Austra.
Avatar 4:56am fred von helsing:

So maybe the same Austra gal on the Egyptrixx ? FWIW saw Austra last summer, it was great! And much less emotionally exhausting than listening on teh interwebz :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56am Julie:

oh Austra are great live!
  4:57am cat:

Hahah rongwrong! Thanks for this! I used to listen them when I was young
Avatar 4:58am C.S.:

@Fred That's what it says on the internet...Maya on vocals and we know the internet doesn't lie.
Avatar 5:00am fred von helsing:

@CS OK cool, good to know ! Anything connected w Austra is going to be dandy. (OMG I can't believe I used the word "dandy". Julie: is this word permitted in this forum ?)
Avatar 5:01am C.S.:

I will be celebrating World Goth Day by being alone in my darkened bedroom...so an average night for me.
Avatar 5:02am fred von helsing:

More France madness w Glockabelle !
  5:05am cat:

They just released an album called "Sombra veloz" fast shadow in English, in 1987

They are from the north of Portugal Braga. Not much about them
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10am Julie:

Dandy is fine it's a kinks song
Avatar 5:10am BadGuyZero:

I'm surprised that the two or three Peter Gabriel's albums he recorded in German haven't been released in the US for Record Store Day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12am Julie:

CS you will spend it with us! What should we do?
Avatar 5:15am C.S.:

Only if the WiFi fairy deems it possible. Not sure able what you should do. I don't get out much.
Avatar 5:16am C.S.:

should say about not able
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17am Julie:

I mean for the show, musically!
Avatar 5:19am C.S.:

I trust your tastes completely. I did one World Goth Day theme on my college radio show back in 2012 and it scared me. ;)
Avatar 5:22am BadGuyZero:

Conduct an interview with Ian Curtis via ouija board!
Avatar 5:22am fred von helsing:

@julie well then there ya go
Avatar 5:26am fred von helsing:

@BGZ I like that idea
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27am Matt from Springfield:

Morning Julie and Children of the Night!

X Priest X sounds great! Kind of sounds like Pure Bathing Culture, another band you might like.
Avatar 5:27am C.S.:

As I said before Julie, I used to steal from you all the time...I mean you were an inspiration. A very big inspiration.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27am Julie:

Morning, Matt!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28am Julie:

ooh you got Jenn Vix on there too :)
Avatar 5:28am C.S.:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29am Matt from Springfield:

Yeah, live Ian Curtis ouija interview! :D

This is great, coming after my dream--it totally sucked! I dreamed I was at work, and it was only Tuesday!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30am Julie:

hmmm isn't it past time for a Meghan check in?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30am Matt from Springfield:

Whoa! Didn't know anyone ever covered this one!
Nice Britpop sound.
  5:30am Marmalade Kitty:

this song was so before it's time!
Avatar 5:31am fred von helsing:

hmm yeah
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:32am Matt from Springfield:

Morning MK! Yeah all Syd songs exist outside of time, in a way.

Check in if you see this, Meghan!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37am Matt from Springfield:

Good sequencing the Stone Roses after those two--didn't realize the Syd influence on them before now!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:38am Julie:

Ah ok..heard Ms M no worries
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41am Julie:

See if *I* had a 6am show, I'd totally oversleep
  5:41am Meghan:

That sounded like Rik from the young Ones
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41am Matt from Springfield:

Phew! I was beginning to worry if she didn't come to the building very soon.

One of the best tracks from their Purple Turtle set! Woo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41am Julie:

Nottingham accent?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42am Julie:

I'll tell Ryan you said that
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42am Julie:

there would've been 30 mins of pink floyd
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44am Julie:

preceded by my running up two flights of stairs in a panic
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44am Matt from Springfield:

All the Floyd albums from Piper, played in sequence until someone relieves you! ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45am Julie:

Hehe yeah I didn't bring the whole 3 cd set alas
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45am Matt from Springfield:

Wow, nice early Bangles sound!
So they were the Bangs, before becoming the Little Bangs (or auf Deutsch, the Bangls! ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47am Matt from Springfield:

Love and Rockets are great for older covers--I also love their "update" to the Temps' "Ball of Confusion" from around the same time.
Avatar 5:47am Dave B:

hey there
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47am Julie:

Morning Dave!
Avatar 5:52am fred von helsing:

the usual suspects have been rounded up
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52am Julie:

Thanks for listening folks, see ya next week!
Avatar 5:52am Dave B:

That it is! And so, having woken, begins a new day
Avatar 5:53am C.S.:

Another great show, Julie.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53am Julie:

thanks CS!
Avatar 5:53am Dave B:

Hey that's what I'm doing! "Saying hello, waving goodbye"
Avatar 5:54am BadGuyZero:

Love & Rockets covered The Animals' "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place" on their 1989 tour. I don't think they ever released a live or studio version.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55am Matt from Springfield:

Wednesthursday, has become Thursday proper. And I don't waaaaaaaaana go, but I...Hey! I actually don't have to go right away--I can listen to Meghan for awhile! :)

Thanks as always for a great show Julie! Can't wait to catch up on the Archive--crossover banter with Mike Sin? ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55am Julie:

No afraid not, I scared him away pretty quickly
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56am Matt from Springfield:

@BGZ: Yeah, I can see them playing the Animals live! Sounds cool.
@Julie: Awwwww nutz!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58am Matt from Springfield:

Have a great Thursday, everyone! :)
  5:58am P-90:

Great show Julie!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58am Julie:

Avatar 3:42pm Van in DC:

Well, you must certainly know that I also will be striving mightily to get at least one KaTe ticket in the wee hours tomorrow morning...best of luck to you Julie. To us both!

THIRTY ONE YEARS I've waited for this!!!!
Avatar 10:10am Van in DC:

Wow, haven't heard that Ultravox song in eons. Another of my treasured vinyls that got stolen years back.
