Hey Bill.
  3:08am Emile:

Morning Bill, zeroheads. Nice to hear some straight ahead jazz at this hour. Hits the spot.
  3:09am P-90:

With this music you should have an old fashioned announcer introducing the show, like the old Tonight Show or the Colgate Comedy Hour or something. "...and Bill's guests tonight, Connie Francis and Vic Damone..."
Avatar 3:12am Bill Mac:

Morning Gents, whew.... hope we can entertain this morning. Always a different vibe coming off of Marathon time. If I didn't say it enough already, muchos gracias for all of the support. @P-90 breaking out of the Sammy Maudlin thing right about....now...
  3:18am Emile:

One more year.... The dream continues
Avatar 3:20am KP:

Still on marathon hangover
Avatar 3:21am Brian in UK:

Hello Bill, KP, Emile, P-90.

Think you are right KP. Where did he get that T-shirt?
  3:21am P-90:

Is it a hangover, or more of an "afterglow"?
Avatar 3:23am Brian in UK:

@P-90 Afterglow has more sexual connotations. At least in my grubby mind.
Avatar 3:23am Bill Mac:

Yeah man, I'm always relieved it's done but there's that post marathon euphoria that we deal with... also we're back in the big room. Hey Brian... yeah where did he get that shirt... btw I'm still wearing it!
Avatar 3:24am Bill Mac:

@Brian... go take a cold shower!
  3:24am pp:

Where is bobby bittman? Or better yet skip bittman
Avatar 3:26am Bill Mac:

Hah... Skip Bittman!!!
Avatar 3:26am Brian in UK:

Just about to cut & run, Bill. 250 mile drive ahead.
Ah Colin Bass. You could do a whole slot on him.
Avatar 3:28am Bill Mac:

You leaving now? I got something to play for you right now!
Avatar 3:28am Brian in UK:

Sabah Habas Mustapha aka Colin Bass used to have a great show on radiomultikulti in Germany. Sad to say the station folded.
Avatar 3:29am Bill Mac:

You Gunkee!!!
Avatar 3:29am Brian in UK:

Yes, Junior Barnes. Thank you so much.
Avatar 3:30am Bill Mac:

Thank you man.... this was a regular listen at home a lifetime ago
Avatar 3:34am Brian in UK:

I will be chuckling all morning now.
What a radio station. What a DJ.

I even remembered July 12th. It is embedded.
Avatar 3:36am Brian in UK:

You make leaving difficult, Bill but gotta go. See youse in a coupla weeks.
Avatar 3:37am Bill Mac:

Dahhhhh tank you my brother - great that they had it here, must have been 10 years old last time I heard it. The missus thought it was great that you love this stuff as much as I do. Have a great time I'll see you on the other side...

@Jay I was warned you guys might be sleeping in this morning. Yes goal attained!!! We're solvent for another year!
Avatar 4:07am Looms:

So did I, Jay, but that's because we have no brain ;) Hello!
Avatar 4:08am Jay/London:

@ bill That is what George M Cohen used to say after his shows.... My mother ect
Avatar 4:08am Bill Mac:

Morning Officer, nah and Loooooms! You know I thought I saw that Seer was a triple.... they're touring US this Spring btw
Avatar 4:13am Andy in Berlin:

I forgot about your clocks too!! Good afternoon guys!
  4:13am Officer Pupp:

Swans are playing my town here in the UK on the exact night I'm out of the country. Dammit. I've seen them twice in recent years and they're the most extraordinary live experience in the world right now.
Avatar 4:14am Bill Mac:

Morning Ayyy Eye Bee!!!
Avatar 4:14am Looms:

Only the special edition of The Seer is a triple (2CD + DVD). It was available from YGR mailorder only.
Avatar 4:16am Bill Mac:

@OP - We saw them back in October '12. Weren't really there to see them but man, a 2 1/2 hour assault. I've been sold on them ever since.
  4:21am david from ks:

,,,,,,,We`ve got to make it stop!
Avatar 4:22am w41:

Hi Bill and all! Congrats on making the goal and thanks for showing that Marathon can be such fun!
Avatar 4:24am Bill Mac:

@David can't stop now! hey dubbuhyuh thank YOU!
Avatar 4:26am Andy in Berlin:

Oh and congrats on some asskicking at the Sinfonia!
Avatar 4:28am Bill Mac:

Thanks Andy... had a bit of help this year. It's alllways a blast to do it. So many people bought their A game this year and the production of the show was the best ever.
Avatar 4:29am w41:

Looks like we're gonna have the great firewall by the end of this year here... Ah well, hope they won't block wfmu.org.
Avatar 4:31am Bill Mac:

@W41: Really? What have you heard?
Avatar 4:33am Andy in Berlin:

To my mind it's been good every year. I was just upset that a couple of things were not in the video upload and I wanted to see Betheny do My Bloody Valentine.
Avatar 4:33am w41:

Some bad shit going down. :)
Avatar 4:35am Bill Mac:

That was a good number. She's always good.
Avatar 4:35am Bill Mac:

@W41 I'll bet...
Avatar 4:35am Whooda:

W41 where are you? Venezuala?
Avatar 4:36am w41:

Um, no, Moscow
Avatar 4:37am Whooda:

OK, thanks. I thought the plan so far was only the Ukranine for firewall.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38am Guido (Cologne):

Nono Russia will get the Chinese firewall.
Avatar 4:41am Whooda:

Google is just about finished with China after more recent laws in China to censor the search engines. Google is expected to be only about 5% of market share in China as a result
Avatar 4:43am w41:

What has taken them so long...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:45am Guido (Cologne):

Oh, I'm about to start to develope sympathy for Google!

On Feacebook they are right now posting private adresses of Russian right wing agent provocateurs in east Ukraine. I don't like those right-wing people, but this pretty much looks like encouraging self justice.
Avatar 4:45am Whooda:

@W41 I agree. I was really disapointed when Google went into China in the first place. Google is facing a (presumed) class-action lawsuit in US for scanning unopened email of its G-mail accounts. Google is trying to hide it's method and use of the data they steal through 'illegal wiretap'.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:47am Guido (Cologne):

Android is scanning behaviour.
It's scary.
Avatar 4:47am Andy in Berlin:

@ Bill - I met Carla B. a couple of years ago at a music festival. He's HOT!
Avatar 4:48am Whooda:

@W41 Hopefully the European Facsist will be outed too.
Avatar 4:49am Andy in Berlin:

my fingers is still asleep. SHE is hot. She is HOT.
Avatar 4:51am Bill Mac:

You forgot She IS hot...
Avatar 4:51am Whooda:

@Guido, Yes that is worse than scary.
Avatar 4:53am Andy in Berlin:

Indeed. She IS!
Avatar 4:55am Bill Mac:

Google scanning email? Not really surprise but I guess I should feel something. They can't be the only ones doing it.
Avatar 4:58am Andy in Berlin:

@ Bill - thanks for the XTC! Love this song
Avatar 4:59am Bill Mac:

Another of the best double albums ever, but it was originally released as a single album here in the states. Andy never surpassed this tune.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:00am Guido (Cologne):

They are scanning everything!

A friend of mine is an engineer at Deutsche Welle Radio in Bonn andgoes there by train. One morning he had a day off. He got an alert from Adroid that he has to go to work, showing him a Google map showing the location of the station.

How is this?
More efficient that the standard electric hobble. they say!
Avatar 5:02am Andy in Berlin:

well I'll tell you a scary Google story. I was emailing with my brother about a Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan box set that appeared in the library and ads started appearing on the Google site for Bomba The Jungle Boy! (who was played by the kid who played Boy in the Tarzan movies) Not only do they read them, but the are making associations!
Avatar 5:05am Whooda:

@Andy The NSA secretly intersepts emails and messages, changes the message and sends it on its way with neither party any the wiser. Just revealed this week.
  5:08am emmagineering:

enjoying the show, bill, artmaking in atl a*town ga
Avatar 5:08am Bill Mac:

@Andy Yep that's just the kind of thing we shouldn't be shrugging off but what are you going to do?
Whooda - wow now that's even creepier...
  5:08am w41:

I have decided to go and get wasted. Best luck to you guys!
Avatar 5:09am Andy in Berlin:

@Whooda - yes that's the scary part. There are actually humans in play here. By the way, is your last name Thunkit?
Avatar 5:09am Jay/London:

i have nothing to hide so don't care if they look .. only people who are doing something bad on the net should be stopped .. but it is getting a bit big brother out there
Avatar 5:10am Andy in Berlin:

@ Bill - we're going to run out and buy those Bomba DVDs.
Avatar 5:10am Bill Mac:

Hey emmagineering! Artmaking at this time of the mornign?
Avatar 5:11am Andy in Berlin:

@ Jay - I have nothing to hide NOW. There was a time... :) (but luckily there was no one listening in in those days, except my mother)
Avatar 5:12am Bill Mac:

Later Dubbuhyuh - don't get caught!
Avatar 5:12am Bill Mac:

@Jay - That's pretty much the way i see it.
Avatar 5:14am Whooda:

@emmagineering Atlanta swore itself to become an art mecca starting about 20 years ago. What is your opinion of Atlanta's art culture today?
Avatar 5:15am Jay/London:

so only worry if ... otherwise don't .. and get on with life
  5:21am Fran:

Morning salutations Bill and all!

Computer problems to start the day but have been listening on Internet Radio - a great show Bill. XTC's forgotten and much undervalued double LP 'Oranges and Lemons' anyone? But my top double will always be either Mr Rundgren's Something/Anything or Todd which would be followed by the mighty Hawkwind Space Ritual and the good Captain's fishy facewear. Saw Gira in London last week - intense acoustic and very Swans like
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:22am Stanley:

Hi Bill and fellow listeners.
Slept in. Hungover. Feel like a slug.
But a happy slug.
Avatar 5:23am Andy in Berlin:

It's all so ironic. I remember talking to someone after 9/11 and was kind of shocked to hear him say that we all have to get used to the fact that things won't be so free anymore. Now everybody's screaming about the monitoring. You know it's like 'you asked for it'.
Avatar 5:23am Whooda:

Those who most loudly proclaimed, "If you nothing to hide, you've nothing to fear" are the ones who have squealed the loudest when discovered THEY are spied on too. Angela Merkel, Dianne Feinstein, (more to come).
It's about worldwide power and controlling everyone's future behavior, not catching "terrorist".
Avatar 5:24am Andy in Berlin:

@ Fran - love the Todd XTC album.
Avatar 5:25am Looms:

@Whooda: well said but don't be naive, everyone is spying everyone.
Avatar 5:25am Andy in Berlin:

@ Whooda - I live in the former DDR and I can just imagine all those former Stasi guys salivating. This is like nothing in their WILDEST dreams...
Avatar 5:26am Bill Mac:

I need to review Something Anything. O&L did have a lot of good stuff on it too. If you get a chance check out Rundgren radio. There are extensive reviews with Partridge and David Gregory.
Avatar 5:27am Andy in Berlin:

...tape recorders hidden in cigarette packs - HA!
Avatar 5:27am Whooda:

@Looms Yes but not everyone has a police state, military and licence to kidnap, torture and kill if they don't like the way you think.
  5:27am Fran:

Hi Andy - yes Skylarking is a gem although it was fraught making it as Messrs Rundgren and Partridge are two big characters for a small room with only one set of dials and switches! There's a new reissue of it coming out soon with the proper mastering and original banned artwork
Avatar 5:28am Andy in Berlin:

@ Fran - I read somewhere that years later XTC eventually admitted it was good.
  5:29am Fran:

Yep Bill - Rundgren radio is a good resource. Shame Todd's newer stuff is frustratingly patchy - wonderful and woeful within a blink!
Avatar 5:29am Andy in Berlin:

@Whooda - boy, where do YOU live?
Avatar 5:29am Whooda:

@Fran Haha that is a very funny (and diplomatic) way to put it: two engineering wizards at one set of dials. hehe
  5:30am Fran:

Yes Andy - it is now as near as well get to a love in between them or total XTC you might say!
Avatar 5:31am Andy in Berlin:

@ Fran - to my mind it's just one socko hit after another
Avatar 5:34am Whooda:

@Andy Unfortunatly I force my self to live in reality. It sucks but someone has to keep the lights on. :)
  5:36am Fran:

Bill - is it true that Peter Hammill almost pledged to adopt you as a vocal student in the Marathon? heh!!
Avatar 5:37am Andy in Berlin:

@ Whooda - no I meant which country do you live in that does NOT do that?
Avatar 5:38am Elisa In Italy:

Hi Y'all! Sorry, I couldn't support you financially this year...I've been pretty broke and am struggling at the moment studying but I will make up for it with some advice. If you drink lots of alcohol and have a hang over you should drink electrolytes or eat watermelon. Watermelon is a great source of natural electrolytes and replenishes the body...just don't drink milk when you eat watermelon. Cheers! :)
Avatar 5:40am Andy in Berlin:

@ Bill - what's the name of the bed music you just played. I always loved that song but i never know what it's called/
Avatar 5:41am Bill Mac:

Yikes Elisa, I already live by the watermelon milk axiom. I guess this is a summer remedy as I doubt you could find any watermelon in the country this time o year.
  5:42am Fran:

Lucas and Hammill were very good in London Bill......quite restrained except for Gary Lucas's electronic effects which woke one or two older fans up!! I just wanted to test your ability to Hamm it up with my fishing...as a VDGG fan I do sort of agree with you......sometimes!!
Avatar 5:42am Elisa In Italy:

I learned this trick because I worked as a juicer at a vegan/vegetarian restaurant in Seattle called the Gravity Bar and it was my job to know the health benefits of fruits and vegetables.
Avatar 5:43am Bill Mac:

@ Andy Called Patricia by Billy May and His Orchestra. It's on this here Organs in Orbit thing that I play every week.
  5:43am Fran:

Watermelon Milk Axiom - what a great name for a double album or jazz rock power trio?
Avatar 5:43am Bill Mac:

Hey Stanley, or should I say Senor Slug!
Avatar 5:44am Elisa In Italy:

Avatar 5:45am Bill Mac:

@ Fran We got a name, now all I need to do is learn to play something
Avatar 5:45am Whooda:

@Andy Last year in America there was a (false) attack on an elementary school, Sandy Hook, in Newtown, Conn. where several children were shot dead. It is part of a larger scheme to disarm the public. here are those same children, very much alive, one year later (two years older).
My country is the master at these type of operations with the help of the main stream media. 9/11 was the same deal (only people did die in 9/11).
Avatar 5:45am Elisa In Italy:

No watermelon? No problem just buy electrolytes in health food stores and will resolve hangover...natural is best though.
  5:47am Fran:

Slug pellets are the quickest way if you need to escape these cures!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49am Stanley:

(drags himself to keyboard leaving trail of slime)
Hi Bill - thanks for the shout out. After a very hard week at the coalface, I thought I deserved a beer so popped in for a drink before heading home. Inevitably, stayed till eleven, no supper etc. (Viccy still away in LA)
  5:49am Fran:

There's the challenge Bill - Watermelon Milk Axiom closing next years Marathon! We have a year to get a complicated gatefold sleeve, Roger Dean artwork and some kickin'...if over long.....tunes!
Avatar 5:50am Bill Mac:

and we break the band up right after - no - DURING the show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51am Stanley:

@Elisa - I've got it covered. A walk by the sea (imagine cold sea winds, spray etc) then head for large breakfast. A sleep in the afternoon and I'll be ready for anything!
  5:52am Fran:

Yeah - I'll explode my drums Moon like whilst you swing a Flying V guitar at the monitors.......rock and roll!!!
Avatar 5:53am Jay/London:

@ stanley way to go after the coalface .. sometimes it just has to be :)
  5:53am Fran:

Stanley - a far far better prescription - take your trail of slime to the sands and enjoy!
Avatar 5:54am Bill Mac:

@Stanley Go out and play two hours worth of tennis. Take it from me it'll make your friend happy he has a target, and you'll sober up in no time....
  5:55am Fran:

Tennis - why do I see Terry Thomas and School for Scoundrels.....'weren't you ready??' Absolute char......
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56am Stanley:

Jeez, Bill. That's bit of an extreme cure.
  5:57am Fran:

Bill - the album could be called Carl Palmer Mask replica - that would validate me exploding the drums after revolving them!
Avatar 5:57am Jay/London:

well thanks bill guess I will have to start to paint the place but the sun is out so just maybe... a few drinks in the sun .. will see
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58am Stanley:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59am Stanley:

Bill - I'm having a couple of weeks away before the missus gets back. Off to India on a hippy pilgrimage thing.

Keep up the good work and see you all when i get back.
Avatar 5:59am Elisa In Italy:

@ Stanley: Cool! :)
Avatar 6:00am Bill Mac:

Aaargh folks that's all the time we have. Eat some watermelon!!!
  6:00am Fran:

Enjoy Stanley
